After hearing Xie Limo’s answer, Yun Bixue finally sighed in relief. “It’s fine as long as they’re alright, but why are they not answering my calls?”

Hearing Yun Bixue grumbling, Xie Limo held his laughter as he comforted her again. “Don’t think about it too much, alright? I will be home soon. We’ll go out for dinner later, so you get ready first.”

“I need to get ready just to go out for dinner?” Yun Bixue had a nagging feeling that something was off today. There was no need for her to get ready in the past when they went out for dinner.

Upon ending the call, Yun Bixue selected some clothes from her huge closet. After some comparison, she picked out her favorite ensemble. It was a long black dress with a light brown coat. She wore high heels to match her outfit, making her feel elegant and sophisticated.

When Xie Limo reached home, Yun Bixue walked down the steps and asked, “Is my outfit today okay?”

Xie Limo shook his head. “The color is too dark. Wear something brighter.”

“You think I’m a peacock? Do I need to spread my feathers then?”

The corners of Xie Limo’s lips twitched. “My dear, don’t you know that peahens never spread their feathers?”

Yun Bixue turned around and went to pour Xie Limo a glass of water as she said, “I know I can’t win Mr. Xie in an argument. Here, have a glass of water while I go up and change.”

Xie Limo took the glass with one hand and took a sip. He said to Yun Bixue, “That light pink sweater and dress in your closet would be nice.”

Yun Bixue paused in her steps. She turned to look at Xie Limo and said, “Hubby, you know my clothes better than I do.” She had almost forgotten about the clothes in the bottom drawer at her closet.

“You just don’t notice them and don’t think about your clothes much.” His wife was a blur, so he had to be more attentive.

When Yun Bixue came out wearing the outfit that Xie Limo suggested, the latter gazed at her. She was a youthful beauty with that small and sleeveless sweater and dress that fell to her knees. Together with leggings and heels, she looked simple yet striking.

Xie Limo nodded in approval at this outfit and praised, “Looks good. Let’s go!”

After Yun Bixue got into the car, Xie Limo started driving towards the west. After more than half an hour, Yun Bixue realized something was off and asked, “Hubby, where are we going? Aren’t we going for dinner? Why are we going further and further away?”

Yun Bixue blinked and looked out of the window. She stared at the scenery outside and asked, “Is it in another city?”

“You’ll know when we get there.”

“You’re being so mysterious. It’s making me really curious.”

Xie Limo glanced at Yun Bixue and said, “It’s cold outside. Don’t lean your head out.”

“I think the scenery outside is nice. Looking at it lifts my spirits.” As Yun Bixue said that, she suddenly thought of a question to ask. “By the way, Limo, if we go too far out, are we still going back home tonight?”

Xie Limo held her arm with one hand, gesturing her to sit properly as he said, “You don’t need to worry about these things, alright? You should just rest when you’re tired after a whole day of work.”

Yun Bixue yawned and leaned back against her seat, following her husband’s suggestion to rest for a while.

After some time, the car pulled to a stop. Xie Limo leaned down and gave Yun Bixue a kiss. In a tender voice, he said, “My dear, it’s time to wake up. We’re here.”

Yun Bixue’s eyes fluttered open drowsily. She heard the sounds of waves crashing against the shore and smelled the scent of the refreshing sea breeze. She recognized where they are at once and asked in an agitated and surprised tone, “We’re at the beach?”
