Author's Note
Of Everlasting End
Hello, first, I would like to whole-heartedly thank you for reading with me throughout these times, for reaching this ending with me. I appreciate it beyond words could express, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Yes, I said it previously, but I want to, need to, stress it.
Honestly, there are a lot of things about this novel that I was uncertain about, or unfamiliar with. There were flaws, there were things I wanted to write and didn't, things I wrote but never intended to. But this was mine. Despite it all, this was my story, and now it is no longer. Now, as was my previous work, it is theirs.
I wanted to dive into a different genre, and I happen to be a very big fan of apocalyptic/system sort of stories, and wanted to try something similar.
The ending, I'd like to say, whatever you took from it is likely correct. There is no wrong, and there is no right. It was simply the ending that made the most sense to me.
In the end, the wish they had to make was one that shouldn't be based off a particular want. If they knew who they were, and what reality wasâin its horrors and beauties alikeâif they made the choice to not rely on the apocalypse to end everything, but chose to rely on themselvesâthat was the answer.
Really, is returning to reality really a salvation? Is it not just another wish granted in a messed up wayâis to live not a nightmare in itself? It depends.
It was a story in a story, filled with many stories. Maybe it was confusing, maybe it wasn't perfect. That's okay.
There's a lot to say, but I'm pretty satisfied right now, having made it to the ending. I'm still a novice writer exploring different things, thank you so much for being here by my side! It was pretty fun writing this, despite its flaws, and the ups and downs, I had a blast! Thank you for your encouragement, or being witness to their story!
Really, there were many times I was scared or discouraged, but I figured I should just keep writing. Keep writing, and their journey will continue. Keep writing, and find your voice. I'm happy I continued. It meant a lot to me to dive into this particular genre, however the outcome turned out.
I'm happy. I'm satisfied.
Once again, thank you so much. This is the ending of Everlasting End. They're having their own fun now, figuring out how they want to live in a time of peace (or as much peace as there can be), finding the meaning in the insignificance of their lives.
I no longer have any control over the life they choose to live.
