Sang Yunxie 1.5
Quick Transmigration: Beat The Female Lead System
"Noble consort Sang, the mistress will be here in a second. Is there anything I can get for you?" Asked one of the servants with a happy expression. I don't know why but when I entered the manor all of the servants looked at me with hope and happiness in their eyes. I guess the previous Sang Yunxie was really liked.
I smiled gently at the servant and with a sweet voice I asked, "I'm fine. How's my mother feeling?" In the past this body could've just gone to her mother's bedroom and not have to wait like a guest. However, after a daughter marries out of her family, she's considered part of her husband's family. Which means that I can't just walk in there. Cause like a wise man once said, when you're in Rome do as the Romans do.
"The mistress has been feeling a..."
"Amazing, thank you for asking," said an appealing voice captivating my attention. When I looked towards the sound I saw my mother, Bingbing.
She was wearing a long blue dress with white accessories. Her long and dark hair fell beautifully to her waist, complimenting her tall and curvy figure. Unfortunately, I couldn't see much because her dress was kind of loose but, she was definitely stunning at first sight. Her face really resembled Sang Yunxie and she exuded an air of calmness like nothing could disturb her. Yet, she didn't give out the same delicate charm about Sang Yunxie that made you want to protect her.
"Mom," I said as I stood up. I didn't run towards her but, I made sure to make my eyes look slightly moist. Looking at her with a sorry expression.
Unfortunately, she complete ignore my sorry state and gave me the cold shoulder,"noble consort Sang, to what do I owe pleasure of having you here?" Honestly her words sounded respectful but, that's not how you would speak to someone who has a higher rank than you.
I gently smiled at her with a hopeless expression, she ignored me and sat on the master's chair grabbing a cup of tea that was previously served.
Noticing that my mother wasn't biting the I'm sorry  bait, I softly sighed and waved my paper fan towards the servants indicating for them to leave.
Once they left, I looked at my mother who didn't seem to be paying any attention at my actions and walked towards her. Then with slow movements I sat next to her and cuddle in her embrace. She didn't respond to my affection and kept sipping her tea but, she also didn't turn me away which was a good sign.
"Mommy?" I called out with a sweet voice as cuddle in her bosom. She ignored me so, I continued, "do you know why I left for the palace?"
She glared at me with her fine brows creasing deeply. I laughed softly and asked, "do you know?"
She seemed to be tired of me and pushed my head away with two of her fingers. Then she asked, "why?" With sarcasm in her voice.
"To be free," I answered her.
She finally looked angry and roughly put her tea down. "Freedom? Freedom you say? You think you're gonna be free trapped in that golden cage? I thought you were smart but, obviously I was just blinded that thing people call motherhood. You simply are special case aren't you?" She said while massaging her temple and raising her voice.
"Mother, no matter how you look at it I'm a girl. A girl from a noble house to be specific. Even if I hadn't married to the royal family. My marriage would still be a transaction between two families..."
"You think your father and I want to use you like other families do? I made sure to raise you the best way I possibly could to make sure you don't depend on anyone to survive. I wanted you to be the difference and do things I never could like travel and heal other people. Anything you wanted but, you chose to marry into that house of snakes.."
"MOTHER!" I raised my voices. "It doesn't matter if you are in the comfort of you're own home, even the walls have ears for them," I whispered into her ear.
She took a deep breath and I just sigh.
"Mother, I understand. But, long ago you helped the empress dowager and impressed her and the whole capital with your medical skills. Then she found out that you were also teaching me. So, of course she would want someone that could save her and her son's life a command away..."
"So, you're saying is my fault that you had to marry the royal family?" She asked with attitude in her voice.
"No, I'm saying that no matter what I did. The empress dowager would find a way to make me enter the royal family. She could've send a royal decree over or try multiple other things. The point is that from the moment she got her eyes on me I couldn't escape," I said to her as we just stared at each other.
"So what now?" She asked.
"So, the fact that I went there is good thing. Although the empress dowager sounds selfish, she's not a bad person. She gave me a residence that's almost bigger than the empress' and is always sending gifts over to me. All the people in the palace respect me and the emperor is not even there," I said. I got all the power without doing the work.
"That's what you want? Power? What about the freedom that you mentioned? You will forever be there with no escape," she said with a serious expression.
"I still have a significant amount of time before the emperor comes home, my plan is to get a place in the court and earn everyone's respect. Not to mention that my father is a general who has brought pride to our country and my mother has saved multiple lives. The more power I have in the kingdom the more freedom I have to do the things I want. So, the best thing for me now is just follow the empress dowager," I told her part of my plan as held her hand to reassure her that I was gonna be fine.
"I thought you were infatuated with the emperor," she said.
"How can I possibly be infatuated with someone I don't know? I just wanted to show the empress dowager that I didn't have any hidden motives when I went to her side. I wanted her to think that I simply loved the idea of her son too much," I told her with a smile.
She sighed with relieved and then said, "it looks like you thought everything through. But, don't you think you left home too early. You still had time. The empress dowager wasn't really pressuring you," she said with a worry expression.
To her and the past Sang Yunxie the empress wasn't truly pressuring her. But, from my point of view the empress dowager was planting a seed of love in Sang Yunxie and to make her go into the palace by choice and well... she succeeded.
"I know but, I got permission from the empress dowager to stay here for a week. It's not very good for me to leave the palace frequently. However, you can visit me in the palace anytime you want. So, you don't have to worry about not seeing me for a long time. I'll make sure we at least see each other once a month," I said trying to ease her worries.
"That's fine too, you can just go directly to your room. It hasn't been long since you left so, it doesn't need any cleaning," she said while stroking my hand. Making sure that I was there.
"Let's talk a little more. I'm planning to visit the port tomorrow morning and see if any strange plants came from foreign countries," I said wondering what I was gonna find there.
"Have you been practicing your medical skills?" Asked my mother with a strict expression as soon as I mentioned the plants.
I softly laughed and said, "yes, I have."
"Good, we'll go to the port tomorrow and you can tell me what you learned while we walk. Now, what things have you done in the palace?

Author's Note: Hey cuties!!!
Today I made an exception and I'm giving an extra chapters since, I love you so much. Also, I've reading this amazing book which it's blowing my mind. Is called, "A Very Large Expanse Of Sea by Tahereh Mafi." I have nothing to say so, I'm just recommending this to you on a whim. I don't think you're gonna be able to find it online. But, if you go to your local library you might find it. It's about a Muslim girl after the 9/11. I normally wouldn't read book like this since, I'm all about second chances. But, my annoying friend force me to read it so, that we could discuss it and she was so annoying that I gave up and started reading it. One of the best decisions I ever made.
PS: If don't like heavy stories don't read it.
PS#2: I'm so happy that I'm trying new things.
Love,
