Chapter 78
Secret Billionaire’s Contract Bride: Marrying My Enemy’s Lover
Chapter 78
It was true when they said all you needed to do was breathe different air and all your problems would
disappear. That was what I was feeling about Paris.
Being in this city was like being transported to a different reality. All my cares and worries had been
cast to the side for the time being and I simply existed in this space with just Damon and L.
Sitting in a small little cafe drinking hot chocolate and eating croissants seemed like such an everyday
thing for most of the people there. But for me, it was this whole different experience.
I sipped on my hot chocolate and moaned, rehshing its sweet taste.
âYou werenât moaning like that when I woke you up this morning.â
Iblushed âDamon
He smirked âDo you know. I love it when your cheeks go all pink with embarrassment? Itâs the cutest
thing I have ever seen.â âI love that seeing me squirm makes me happy.â
He leaned over the table to whisper in my ear. âDoesnât just make me happy. It turns me on, wife,â
âStop it I laughed, playfully smacking his arm. âWe are in a public place, husbandâ
This is France, mon cherie. This place is made for lovers.â He winked, âIâm sure if I spread you bare on
the table right now these people wouldnât even bat an eye.â
âYou wouldnât dare.â
âIs that a challenge?â He cocked an eyebrow waiting for me. âBecause you know Iâm always up for a
good challenge, my love.â
One thing I had learned over these months of being married to him was that the man was true to his
word. If he said that he wanted to take me over his lap, he would. If he said that he would book out an
entire restaurant just so we could have sex on the table, he would. So I knew damn well that he was
very serious about this too.
âWhy canât we just keep it PG in public?â I groaned
I know I sounded like I was complaining but we both knew how much I loved this side of him. He
pushed me out of my comfort zone constantly and never once had I regretted it. The man always found
ways to make this mundane life of mine exciting
âWith you, there is no such thing as PG, my love. I look at you once and Iâm ready to go.â He snapped
his finger for added effect âJust like that â
âOkay Casanova, turn it down a notch, itâs only eight in the morning.â
âTrue, but itâs eleven at night in LA He wagged his eyebrows which made me laugh.
This man was something else but I wouldnât have it any other way. He lit up my heart in ways that could
not fully be expressed in words.
âSo what shall we do today, my Casanova?â
âWhatever your heart desires, my lady. Whatever your heart desires.â
The day came and went.
We had walked so much I had thought I would be tired but I still had so much energy in my body. We
went to the Louvre. Then we went to a pastaâmaking class, to which I smashed and my husband
butchered but that was to be expected. The man burnt water on the best of days so I had not been
expecting much from him.
And now he was taking me on a surprise dinner date.
This whole holiday had been just pure spontaneity. Nothing was planned, we were just playing all by
ear. But this had been the one thing that he wanted full control over. And with our time in Paris coming
to a close soon enough, it was perfect. âNow we can put this on.â He blindfolded me as we sat in the
back of the car that was taking us to the next destination. âCan you see?â
âNo, but I think you may have just smudged my makeup.â
âYouâre fine, I promise.â He kissed the back of my hand, holding onto it.
Damon was one of those closeted romantics. His love was not always loud and outspoken. Sometimes
it whispered. In the flowers, he sent because I had told him I was having a bad day. Or the bubble bath
he had running for me when I told him I was PMSing. There were also times he would just hold me
because he knew that his touch calmed me.

And then there were tunes when his love was loud, like the necklace I wore around my neck tonight. It
was by far the most extravagant gift he had given me but not my favorite. That spot was reserved for
my ring. It symbolized the very start of what was uns.
We drove for a little while longer until we came to a stop.
My husband guided me out of the car and led me down what sounded like a gravel path. As we drew
down this path I could hear the gentle strumming of violins. The melody was soft and romantic. It was
the kind of music you would expect on a Parisian night
We came to a stop and my heart was in my mouth. I didnât know why I was so nervous. It was just date
night. We had many of those in the past. But something about this man always gave me butterflies.
Slowly the blindfold came down to reveal a table surrounded by roses and candles. To the far left there
was the violin quartet that was strumming the same song I had wanted to walk down the aisle to. It was
also the one that I had always pictured to be our first dance.
When I looked around the area it dawned on me where we were.
âYou didnât.â
We were standing in the middle of the gardens in none other than the Versailles. This was a historical
sight and I was sure that we were not allowed to have a private dinner after hours. But somehow here
we were.
âDid I do good?â
âGood?â I whirled around and threw myself at him. âYou just smashed it. I donât know how youâre going
to top this one, baby. This is incredible.
He twirled me around his arms eliciting a slew of giggles from my chest. I was so giddy I couldnât help
but laugh. âYou are incredible.â He slammed his lips on mine. âYou are incomparable. You, my wife, are
just simply divine.â
âTone it down buddy, you already have the ring on my finger.â
He set me down, his smile never once leaving his face. âI have the ring on you, but what about a baby
inside you?â
I laughed but then my laugh sobered when I saw the serious expression on his face. âWait, youâre
serious.â
âYeah, why not? I want to build a family with you, my love. I want to create the kind of environment we
never had growing. up.â He cupped my face between his large hands. âSo what do you say? Will you
make a family with me?â
âA thousand times yes.â
Just thinking about mini Damonâs and Adelaideâs running around brought tears to my eyes. Our love in
human form. A byproduct of all the good that we had to offer.
He pressed his lips to mine in a heated kiss. When we pulled apart I could already see where his mind
was headed and though I was riding on the same wavelength I wanted to have our dinner.
When next could I say that I dined in the Versailles gardens?
âSo how about dinner?â I pulled out of his hold leading him to the small table.
âWhat if I just want to skip to dessert?â
âPatience is a virtue, husband.â I winked at him over my shoulder.
âVirtue my ass,â he grumbled back to me as he pulled out my chair. He then leaned forward, his lips
kissing my bare shoulder. âIâll wait, my love. But donât make me wait too long or these violinists will
have quite the show on their hands.â
I blushed.
And suddenly I couldnât wait for dinner to be over.
