VS - Chapter 5

Henry opened his eyes, he was alone in bed. He sat up as he ran his fingers through his hair, he had gotten barely any rest last night and he was feeling the side effects. He sat up slowly and rolled out of bed. He walked out of his room and saw Lilly and Joey sitting on the couch, Joey was sprawled out across the couch and Lilly was sitting there with the laptop on her lap.

"Rose went to the garden," Lilly said, not lifting her eyes up from the computer. Henry nodded as he walked past the couch, Joey looked up at him with a bored expression on his face.

Hang in there, Henry said.

I'm trying my hardest, Joey said as he laid his head back down. He placed a pillow over his face.

Henry walked into the garden and saw Rose laying on her regular rock. Her eyes were closed and she was sprawled out on the rock as the sun warmed her.

Henry came up behind, in a second he wrapped his arms under her arms and around her waist. She slightly screamed as he pulled her off the rock and held her above the floor. He placed his chin on her shoulder.

"Henry put me down," Rose whined as she swung her legs back and forth.

"Considering that you left me in bed, no. And don't try to teleport, because I'll continue to pick you up. "

"I tried to wake you up."

"Key word there is tried, you didn't do."

"Henry," Rose whined. "Put me down," she said as she tried to wiggle out of his grasp. In an instant, Henry threw her up in the air and caught her on his shoulder. Her head was on his back and her legs were over his chest. He wrapped one arm around her legs as he held her in place.

Rose grabbed on to his pants and managed to climb down and slip out of his grasp. She rolled on the ground before she could move Henry wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground again. Henry threw her up in the air again and turned her around, he caught her lower waist.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Rose teleported them on top of the rock, they were both sitting down as Henry's legs hung over the edge of the rock. Henry turned his head sideways and placed it under Rose's chin. She placed her head on his shoulder as she ran one hand through his hair.

She could tell that Henry was still thinking about what Phil had said, even though he hid it well.

"You ok?" Rose mumbled into his neck.

"Yeah," Henry said even though he shook his head no. Rose hugged him tighter and he hugged her tighter. Rose could tell that he didn't want to talk about it. "Where's Harper and Erik?" Henry asked, changing the subject.

"They are in the library," Rose said. "Erik still hasn't woken up."

"We should probably go check on them." Rose pulled her face out of the crook of his neck and he pulled his face away from under his chin. Rose looked at Henry. He had dark circles under his eyes and the white part of his eyes was slightly red from lack of rest and more stress. His eyes still had the watery glow to them.

"You know I'll love you no matter what, right?" Rose asked as she ran her fingers through his hair. Henry nodded his head but didn't say anything. Instead, Henry placed a kiss on Rose's lips. He pulled away and looked at her. His eyes thanked her, he kissed her forehead before Rose teleported them to the ground. Henry wrapped his arm around her as they started to walk to the library.

They walked into the library and saw Harper and Erik. Erik was laying on the couch, still knocked out. Harper was sitting on the couch as well, with Erik's head resting on her lap. She was trying to read a book to him, she stumbled over her words as she tried to pronounce them.

When Rose and Henry entered Harper stopped reading and looked up. A small look of fear came over her face before it was replaced by a relaxed one.

They walked to Harper and Henry knelt down beside them.

"May I look at your brothers head?" Henry asked. Harper nodded her head. Henry lifted Erik's head off of her lap and took off the bandage and looked at the slight bump he had on his head.

Right as Henry touched it Erik's eyes shot open and he sat up. He sat up so quickly that Henry barely had enough time to move out of the way. Erik looked around worried until his eyes landed on Harper. He quickly hugged her and she hugged back. They pulled away and Erik cupped Harper's face with his hands and checked to see if Harper was ok. He saw a bruise on her face and anger took over his face.

He looked up and saw Henry, he jumped up and took a swing at Henry. Henry grabbed his hand with little to no effort, Erik took another swing at Henry who grabbed his hand again. Henry gently pushed Erik back onto the couch.

"Calm down," Henry said.

"Calm down? How am I supposed to be calm when you're beating my sister!" Erik said as he fought against Henry, but with little to no effect.

"I didn't hurt your sister," Henry said. Erik looked at Harper who was huddled in the corner of the couch with a terrified expression on her face. She was scared that Henry was going to hurt Erik because he tried to fight Henry, like how he tried to fight Phil but lost.

"Did he hurt you?" Erik asked Harper. She was silent for a second as she convinced herself that Henry wasn't going to hurt Erik.

"No, he... he rescued us," Harper said. Erik turned his attention back to Henry and his face softened a bit.

"I'm going to let go, please don't hit me," Henry said as he let go of Erik's hands. Henry stepped back a step and looked at Erik, waiting for him to try and hit him again. When Erik didn't move Henry relaxed more. Rose walked to Henry's side. "May I look at your head?" Henry asked Erik, he nodded his head.

Henry moved Erik's hair out of the way and looked at the small cut he had, it had swelled up a bit.

"Does it hurt?" Henry asked.

"No," Erik said.

"It doesn't look infected, I'll clean it just in case," Henry mumbled to himself. "Rose, can you please go get the first aid?" Henry asked. Rose nodded her head as she ran out of the room. She came back with a first aid kit. Henry opened it and grabbed the bandages and sterilizing liquid. He placed the liquid on a rag and then placed it on Erik's head.

Erik winced in pain as he shut his eyes.

"Sorry," Henry mumbled as he removed the rag from Erik's head. Henry then started to wrap the bandage around his head. He grabbed the surgical tape and taped the end of the bandage to hold it in place.

Henry stood up with Rose.

"Come with me and I'll show you to your rooms," Henry said. Erik hesitantly stood up as Harper sat there, still in fear. Rose walked to Harper and held out her hand, Harper took Rose's hand and stood.

They all walked out of the library. Joey and Lilly looked up before they both smiled at Harper and Erik.

"You're awake," Joey said. His voice sounded tired and bored. Lilly clapped her hands in excitement at the fact that Erik was ok. Erik and Harper only slightly smiled as they continued to walk.

They walked to the two rooms at the very end of the hall.

"You guys can choose your rooms and later on, if you want, we can decorate them," Henry said. Harper and Erik both nodded as they walked into their own rooms.

Rose and Henry walked back to their room. Rose laid down on the bed on her back and Henry laid down next to her. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her on top of him, she was now laying on her stomach.

Henry faintly smiled.

"What are you smiling about?" Rose asked.

"Seeing Harper and Erik go into their rooms reminds me of the day I got you. You were so happy to have a room, and I didn't say it, but you looked adorable when you were excited." Rose's face turned a bright red, the only thing she did to hide her face was to burry it into Henry's chest. Henry laughed at how cute Rose was. "I'm going to text Britney and ask if she can keep the kids for one more night, is that ok?" Henry asked.

Rose looked up at him, her face was even redder than before. She nodded her head as she slightly smiled in embarrassment. Henry pulled his phone out of his pocket and texted Britney.

When he was done texting her he placed his phone back on the nightstand.

"In the morning I'm going to visit my mom, do you want to come?" Henry asked. Rose only nodded her head, her face was still red, but not as red. Henry closed his eyes as did Rose as they both started to rest, only one thing was racing through Henry's mind.

Does mom know anything about Phil's past?
