SerendipityEpisode-46“Oh, wear a silk saree today… it’s Holi,” said her mother, sitting at the dining table and sipping tea.Megha had just finished her morning jog and stepped into the house, looking at her mother in surprise as she took off her shoes.“Holi will be celebrated in the evening… why wear a heavy saree so early in the day?” Megha asked, raising an eyebrow. “And I’m not wearing silk—it’s already too hot!”“Oh, wear that soft Irkal of mine, the mustard one… it looks lovely on you,” her mother suggested, making Megha’s eyebrows raise even more.“Yes, Maa sahab! Your wish is my command,” Megha teased, heading inside.Seeing Megha so cheerful, her mother’s eyes lit up with curiosity.“Why are you so happy today? Is there something special going on? You agreed without any fuss, which is a surprise in itself!”“Yes, I’ve been happy since Purab called me yesterday…” Megha replied.Late at night, her mother had seen her laughing to herself while working.When asked if she’d been thinking about marriage, Megha replied, laughing, that she had been, though she would think about it later.So, Purab and Megha? Her mother thought. I won’t ask her directly—she’ll just get annoyed again. Arya’s also home… Let’s wait a few days until Arya’s school starts, and then we can talk.*@*@*@*@*Megha entered the office in high spirits and headed straight to Mr. Gupta’s cabin.“Congratulations, sir! We did it!” Megha said as she opened the door and walked in.“Oh, come on… congratulations to you too! You deserve it—your presentation made all the difference!” Mr. Gupta replied, smiling.“Sir, let’s not dwell on that. It was a team effort, and the important thing is that SWC won the project,” Megha said, taking a seat. “Did the contract come through?”“Not yet—it’s almost 9 o’clock. Prakash said he’ll send it by 10. Be patient; it’ll come,” he reassured her.“I can hardly wait!” she replied excitedly. “Sir, this is a huge accomplishment!.....You’ve dreamed of this for a long time, haven’t you?” she asked, noticing his satisfied expression.“Yes, Megha… and now it’s finally happening. I couldn’t be more pleased,” he said, smiling gently.“Is Purab here? I’d like to see him,” Megha said, standing up.“No, he had some work and left early this morning. I’ll let you know as soon as the contract arrives.”“Alright, sir, I’ll be in my cabin,” she replied. “The initial plan for Sehgal’s asset valuation is ready. Let’s discuss it this afternoon—the work at their office begins on April 2nd.”“Great! There’s a bit of uncertainty around Supreme, though. Let’s make sure everything’s precise.”“Once Purab and Rajiv Mehra’s tasks are set, things will fall into place,” Mr. Gupta said thoughtfully.“Rajiv Mehra’s working style is known to be a bit unconventional.”“Hmmm!
