Chapter Twenty Two

Forever Ours

Victoria's POV

It all happened so fast, one minute I was strolling out of the store and the next a cloth was over my head and I was dragged into a car.

I don't know how two men were able to carry a struggling pregnant woman without getting spotted by anyone but they did and that bothers me.

I didn't stop struggling against these people even as they drove. Not a word was spoken despite my screams. Obviously they had had enough because I felt a pinch on my neck before everything went black.

When my eyes shot open again the first thing I noticed was the cold both from the atmosphere and the concrete ground beneath me.

I sat up first, wanting to regain my energy before I stood up. The room was somehow small. There was no window, just a red iron door that looked like it weighed a ton.

At the left corner of the room sat a bed, neatly laid with a cream bed sheet and a pillow. The bed frame was iron and on the ceiling which was a little higher than for regular houses was a ceiling fan, one with short blades.

Those were the only things in the room. The room looked neat at least.

"You could have at least put me on the bed!" I yelled to whomever could hear me.

I was terrified.

I have no idea who these people are and what they want with me.

I had no idea if I would make it out of here alive or at least complete.

My major concern now is my health so I don't want to stress myself too much. If I'm making it out of here alive I want to do so with myself and the baby in good shape.

I pulled myself from the floor and made myself comfortable on the bed, resting my back on it. It wasn't as comfortable as my bed at home but it was better than the floor by far.

God please don't let the bed have bed bugs.

This was definitely a warehouse. With the lack of windows of any sort, it was hard to tell where exactly I was.

As I laid on the bed I began to pray.

To pray that I would make it out of here alive, me and the baby. I prayed that someone would find me before things get too far out of control.

I prayed that Andrew would come save me.

It was probably two hours before I felt my bladder protest. I stood up and made my way to the door.

I started pounding my fist on the iron door. "Hello! Anyone there?" Even when my hand started to hurt, I didn't stop until I heard a click.

I took two steps back and counted the number of locks.

One. Two. Three. Another key.

The door opened and a man appeared. I couldn't see his face because he was wearing a face cap and a hoodie that hid his face. He was tall and he looked like he could take me out with just a punch.

I gulped as the reality of my current situation finally hit me. My eyes widened and I instinctively took a step back. I was scared out of my mind.

The man stepped to the side, waiting for me to step out of the room.

I didn't feel pressed anymore. I just wanted to go home, to be safe.

The man sighed heavily, telling me that he was already growing tired of waiting for me. He reached out for my arm but I yelped and moved forward, making him to drop his hand.

"I can walk, thank you." I spat.

He locked the door back and I watched carefully. He first used the key, locked it once. Then the first bolt which was at the top of the door, the middle bolt then the bottom bolt. Then he used another key with the second lock.

He turned to me and I quickly looked away, pretending that I was looking at the floor.

The man walked ahead of me and I followed behind him. My eyes scanned the place. The ceiling was high just like it is inside the room I was locked in so this must be a warehouse. Every other door in the place was red and the corridor was well lit. The floor also concrete and cold. I wrapped my arms around myself as I shivered.

Couldn't they warm this place up at least? It's freezing in here.

The man came to a halt and I did so behind him. He stepped to the side to reveal a red door. It was the end of the corridor and to my right the corridor continued and at the end of that one was a red door too. My guess is it also continues to the side.

The man pushed the door open to reveal a bathroom. I slowly stepped in and locked the door with the one bolt it had.

The bathroom floor was clean despite the fact that it was also concrete. There was just a tap to the side. Inside the toilet was also clean and this realization made me sigh in relief. The place even smelled nice.

There was a small window but it was too high for me to look through even if I climbed the toilet seat.

I quickly did my business and washed my hands then splashed some water on my face. There was no mirror so I couldn't see what I looked like. I ran my hand through my hair and re-tied it in a neat bun. I washed my hand again before unlocking the door and stepping out.

"I'm hungry." I told the man but he didn't react. Not even a gesture or a sound.

I rolled my eyes and followed him. He unlocked my 'cell' door and just before I stepped in, I noticed a number written in black paint above the door.

1213

It was definitely a warehouse. I couldn't look at the door just opposite mine because the man closed the door.

I sighed and sat on the floor with my back to the door.

I think about five to ten minutes later I heard the bolts and locks of the door unlock so I stood.up. The door opened again and a plate of food and a bottle of water was slid into the room before the door was locked again.

I skeptically looked at the plate. Rice, beans and stew. No meat. The plate was paper, the spoon and bottle were plastic.

I smelled the food first and it smelled just like mama-put.

I took the first spoon and I was right. Mama-put. At least they made an effort to buy me food. Most kidnappers would just give their victim bread and water.

Maybe they are considering the fact that I'm pregnant.

I finished my food, completely clearing the plate and I finished the bottle of water.

I sat on the floor for a moment before going to lay on the bed.

Just before I slept off I could imagine Andrew bursting right through the door to save me and that somehow helped me to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of the door opening. I sat up quickly and wiped my eyes. The guy from earlier opened the door and stepped in.

He threw a towel at me. "Time to shower."

I was hearing his voice for the first time and it was deep. Now I see why he didn't want to speak earlier. Hearing him speak for the first time would make anyone shake in fear.

"A little help please." I stretched my hand forward. The cold in the room plus the fact that I just woke up from sleep made my body stiff. The bed was also a little high.

He helped me down from the bed and didn't let go of my hand until I was standing straight.

"Thank you," I appreciated as I walked out of the room with him behind me.

"Five minutes." The guy said just before I stepped into the bathroom.

I did my best to shower under five minutes and when I was done and back into my "cell" the guy gave me a small loaf of bread with a bottle of water before he locked the door.

I sat on the bed and ate. I wasn't satisfied but I had to eat what they give me. It's better than nothing.

After a while the door opened again and this time no one stepped in. I stood up, not sure if I was expected to walk out of the room. Then I heard it, the clicking of heels on the concrete floor. The sound grew closer and with every click, my heart skipped a beat.

A woman then appeared in the doorway and my jaw dropped.
