Chapter 84 - Being Cared For

“Speaking of the Qiao family, I noticed that Qiao Xuan was looking at you strangely today. Did he recognize you?” Lu Ying asked with a frown.

Qiao Yue was stunned and asked in confusion, “Recognize me? Have I met Qiao Xuan before?”

Her memory had always been good, and Qiao Xuan was such an outstanding person. She would remember if they had met before.

“Three years ago, at a gathering between Chinese and western medicine practitioners. Qiao Xuan had noticed you then.” Lu Ying replied.

Lu Ying’s vague answer made Qiao Yue even more curious. She asked further, “Where did you hear that?”

“I don’t remember. I only know that it happened. By the way, you said that your medical skills are so good. Why did they look for me? Don’t they find it troublesome?” Lu Ying changed the subject to stop Qiao Que from asking further.

Qiao Yue glanced at him and replied, “It’s problematic. The more they know, the more they wonder. Besides, the Qiao family doesn’t trust me. Why should I get involved in this mess?”

Lu Ying laughed. “Why did you go back if it’s so problematic. Aren’t you just asking for trouble?”

“No choice. It’s my mother’s dying wish.” Qiao Yue replied.

However, she had another reason to stay here now. What did her mother steal from the Qiao family?

Lu Ying raised his hand and clinked glasses with Qiao Yue. Qiao Yue’s reflection filled his beautiful eyes.

“If you need me, just let me know.” Lu Ying said seriously.

Qiao Yue’s eyes squinched up as she smiled. “Definitely. I don’t need to find anyone else when the miracle-working Dr. Lu is at my disposal. So, I’ll ask you now to give your best when treating Old Master Qiao. That’s already a big help.”

Lu Ying rubbed Qiao Yue’s head and asked, “When do you plan to return to your female form? Aren’t you envious when you see other girls in dresses?”

“Qiao Jing? Are you afraid of him?” Lu Ying asked in surprise.

Qiao Yue lowered her eyes and smiled. She was not afraid of him but she cherished the special attention that Qiao Jing gave her. She did not want to disappoint him again, so she willingly shackled herself.

“I’m not afraid of him. I just feel that it’s nice to be cared for like that.”

Seeing the smile on Qiao Yue’s face, Lu Ying’s face suddenly darkened, and a bitter smile appeared on his face unwittingly.

“By the way, will only you and Qiao Xuan be allowed in the ward tomorrow for Old Master Qiao’s acupuncture? Or will everyone be allowed?” Qiao Yue suddenly turned around and asked.

Lu Ying stopped in his tracks and quickly reverted his expression.

“Only two people are allowed in the ward. I think there might be other reasons why Old Master Qiao has been unconscious for so long.” Lu Ying replied.
