Chapter 48
Girl Next Door ✔️
Right now, I was scared shitless.
Mom and dad weren't home, after Antony dropped me off.
They were out of town.
I am alone in the house.
As soon as the clock striked twelve, someone started banging my front door.
Maybe it's James?
Maybe not.
I'll just have to open the door, I guess.
Sighing, I made my way towards the front door.
I looked into the peep hole, only to see Cole standing there.
What the hell is he doing here now?
I jumped back, when he banged the door again.
"Open up, Xandra!" He shouted, a little slurry.
I slowly opened the door.
Making eye contact with Cole, I noticed his bright green eyes weren't bright.
They looked dull.
I sniffed him a little, only to find the smell of heavy alcohol.
He's drunk.
"Heyyy." He slurred out, waving a little.
I stepped aside, as I waited for him to get in.
He stumbled inside, before falling once.
I sighed as I helped him up, and led him to the living room.
I got him seated on the couch, as I sat beside him, a lot of space between us.
I don't want to talk to you, monkey.
"I swear, the way you call me monkey, makes me feel as if monkeys are the greatest animals on earth." Cole slurred out, sleepily.
"Why are you here?" I asked him.
He looked at me, as he pulled me closer to him, by grabbing my shoulders.
Taking my hands into his big ones, he gave me his puppy eyes.
"I'm so sorry kitten. I didn't mean to leave you, I swear." He said, sincerely.
Aww.
I tried not to melt at his cuteness.
"It's okay Cole. I understand." I said, giving in easily.
He smiled at me.
Where did his smirk go?
I seriously like drunk Cole better.
"Hey, didn't you say you liked me?" He asked me, innocently.
I nodded at him.
"Well, I like you too. No wait, I think I love you." He said, beaming at me.
I sat there, shocked.
Love. This word is so foreign.
I never thought I could be loved.
"But, you are loved. I love you." Cole said, staring at me.
"Why do you love me?" I asked him.
"Maybe it was because of your voice, or your face, or your eyes, or your hairs, or your legs, or your cheeks, or your hands---"
"Come to the point already." I intruppted.
He continued though.
"Or whatever it was, it made me fall really very hard for you." He said, smiling at me.
A big smile.
I bit my lips as I didn't know what to say.
"I like you too." I said, smacking at myself internally.
He beamed at me.
"I know. You said that earlier. Will you be my g--"
"Don't say it. I have never had a proper boyfriend before, and I want one who proposes very nicely, not like this, being drunk." I said, sharply.
"I was going to ask to whether you would be my grealty great friend?"
"Huh?"
"I mean, can you go out on a walk with me?"
"Like, it's midnight. We can't, Cole."
"Please. Pretty please Xandra."
"No."
"Please kitten. Just once."
"Why do you want to go out?"
"I wanna show you something."
"What do you wanna show?"
"The moon."
"Why, Cole?
"Because it reminds me of you. Pretty you."
"Really?"
"Yeah. And the stars will be our future children."
"What? No. I don't want to be a weasley."
"What's a weasley?"
"Nothing. You won't understand."
Muggles.
He stared at me, very intensely.
His stare wasn't normal, it was something I could'nt explain.
"Stop looking at me like that."
"Looking like what?"
"Looking like I'm your whole world."
"But you are my whole world."
I sighed, looking away from him.
I never knew he'd be a hopeless romantic when he gets drunk.
"Kitten." He poked me on the arm.
"Yeah. " I said, looking at him.
"Are you tired?" He asked me.
But before letting me answer, he said.
"Cause you've been running in my head, all day."
I rolled my eyes.
"Kitten." He poked me again.
"What?" I asked him.
"Can I get a kiss?" He asked me.
Judging my expression, he soon added.
"But, I promise I'll give it back. Just don't slap me for that."
I facepalmed myself.
He looked at me, quite cutely, as he yawned a little.
He was sleepy.
Telling him to wait for a minute, I quickly grabbed blankets, before going back on the couch.
I don't have the energy to carry him upstairs, to my room.
As soon as I sat beside him, he placed his head on my lap.
I stiffened a little, before getting normal.
"I like your thighs, they're soft and comfortable." He said, yawning a little.
"Gee thanks, just bought it." I said, using song references.
7 rings is a smash.
"You really are a big fan of Arianna." He muttered under his breath.
"What's a greatly great friend?" I could'nt help but ask him, as I caressed his forehead.
"A friend who is literally the second half of the other one. They might be opposites, but then again, opposites attract. Like us." He said, snuggling as he got comfortable.
Who knew he could get this comfortable on a couch?
"So, I'm your greatly great friend?" I asked him.
"Mhmm." He replied, as he drifted to sleep.
I smiled at him, as I covered him in the blankets that I brought.
I knew I was a goner, when I noticed the innocent look the monkey had, while asleep.
I quickly pecked him on the forehead, before getting him settled and going back to my room.
Not before leaving a tablet for headaches for him on the table, with a note.

Cole wasn't here. He left before I woke up.
I sighed as I heard someone knock lightly on the front door.
Why didn't the person just ring the bell?
I opened the door, only to find Antony standing there, waiting for me.
He actually came.
He isn't as bad as he shows.
I seriously feel bad, for using his friendship as a game.
I can't use him. He's a good guy. That too a Potter head.
"Hey." I said, smiling a little.
"Let's get going, shall we?" He asked, as he looked at his phone's screen.
"But I haven't eaten anything. And it's too early if we go now."
"We'll stop at Starbucks."
"Oh great." I said, smiling at little.
As I sat in his car, one thought struck me, as I looked at Antony who was about to start driving.
"Wait a minute, will you? I'll be right back."
"Where are you going?"
"My bagpack."
He laughed out, as I ran in the house to bring my bag, and locking the front door.

"I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it." I sang, along with Ariana Grande, as Antony parked the car in the parking lot.
Yay. We're in school.
Note the sarcasm.
"You have an awful voice."Â He said, looking at me, as he switched off the radio.
"Like you have any better." I said, smirking at him.
He looked at me, offended.
"I don't sing."
"But I heard you singing right now, a little lower than my voice though. I didn't know you liked Ariana as well."
He paled.
"Not a word to anyone." He instructed.
"I was going to tell this to everyone." I said, smiling sweetly.
"No you won't." He said, as I rolled my eyes.
"Watch me." I said, as I quickly got out of his car.
I noticed people coming going in school inside.
Now is the time.
"LISTEN UP, EVERYONE." I shouted as people started looking at me, weirdly.
"ANTONY C--" Antony covered my mouth with his hand, as my voice got muffled. He was standing behind me.
I stepped on his foot, with my heels, as a groan escaped his lips, and his hand left my mouth.
I laughed out, as I turned to face him.
He glared at me, though, he was being playful.
I noticed James standing behind Antony, a little far.
He was watching us.
He had a blank look on his face, as he stormed towards us.
"Hey babydoll." He greeted, as Antony turned to look at him.
Antony was shut, he didn't say anything as he stared at the both of us, meaning me and James.
I cleared my throat.
"I see you're already friends with my little brother." He said, as I didn't say anything.
"Yeah."
"He knows what he should be doing. Don't you, Tony?" James asked as he looked at Antony.
Antony nodded as he walked away, into the school.
"What is your problem?" I asked him, as I folded my arms on my chest.
"He knows. What was between us. He knows what is not his." James said, as he stared at me, dead in the eyes.
He stepped closer to me, as I stepped back.
His grey eyes looked shallow. They lost the sparks they once had.
All because of me.
"He knows what's your story." He said, as he took a step back.
"More like a tragedy, as a psycho gets into the picture." I said, my voice neutral.
He smirked at me.
He came closer to me, again.
His breath hit my cheek, as he brought his mouth near my ear.
"There were two psychos in the picture." He said, as he backed away.
I stared at him dumbly, as he left.
What does that even mean?
I'm a psycho? Tyler is a psycho? Or is Jasmine a psycho?
Him and his mysterious way of lying.
Sighing to myself, I was about to walk in the school but stopped, when I heard Cole's voice from my behind.
I stopped as I turned to face him.
He came running to me.
"Hey." He panted as He stood in front of me.
"Are you tired?" I could'nt help but ask him.
I didn't let him answer, as I continued.
"Cause you've been running in my head all night." I mocked him.
He rolled his eyes, as I noticed red tinted on his cheeks.
"Why were you running?" I asked him.
"Well someone parked his car on my place. I had to park my car a little far from the school." He explained, as he looked at James' car.
"James." I said, rolling my eyes.
"I know." He said, sighing.
I held my hand out, and he raised an eyebrow at me.
He looked at him, signalling him to take my hand, as he did.
Enterwining our hands together, we walked hand in hand to the school.
"You really are my greatly great friend." I said, winking at him.
"Shut up." He grumbled adorably, as we walked inside.
I stopped dead in my tracks, as stared at the scene in front of me. Cole stopped too as he looked ahead, in confusion.
James and Kylie were making out passionately, not giving a damn about anything.
