After staying with Freda, I left the room looking once more at her peaceful fragile face before sadly leaving.

I decided to go to Harper’s ward to see how she was doing.

On my way to the ward, I heard some noise, which I overlooked but it grew louder with each step, confirming the source of the noise was from her ward it made me heighten my vigilance.

To my surprise, I saw the guards struggling with someone who seemed familiar.

“Safiya?, What on earth is this cruel woman doing here?” I muttered under my breath.

“Let me in you stupid, insolent guards. I am the Luna” she ranted, insulted, and ordered them.

I was very glad that the guards didn’t allow her in. I didn’t want to see her near Harper.

Harper had heart failure and Safiya knew all these while but failed to take care of her to the extent that her condition became this severe. If only I paid more attention to the signs, maybe I would have noticed it earlier and she wouldn’t have been as hurt as this. Harper’s chance of survival is fifty-fifty and

just couldn’t stop my heart crashing.

have been this bad. She may look beautiful but has the ugliest heart I’ve ever seen. She caused two people I loved greatly a massive deal of pain just because she was in charge.

I looked at her with irritation and hate, nothing could ever make me love her. I was so stupid to have chosen her over Freda, a mistake too great that, I will never make again.

“Kaiden!” Safiya abruptly called me cutting me from my thoughts. I didn’t reply but glared at her.

“Kaiden, please let me see Harper,” she said. I felt distaste for her. Recalling the image of Freda, how she got her injected with wolfsbane and other terrible things she’s done to her annoyed me more. My head started boiling, my brain was becoming hot and I felt like hurting her.

“Kaiden, please! Tell these horrible guards to let me in” she begged.

I behaved like a person who was deaf and didn’t pay any attention to all the things she said.

“Oh, darling Kaiden, please I want to see Harper” she cried. I turned my back to her and was leaving when she rushed up behind me, gripping my shirt to prevent me from going.

“Get your evil hands off me” I yelled at her and she started crying profusely.

“Kaiden please, I know I might have not been the best mother but no matter what, a mother would never want her child in pain. I don’t want anything to happen to her. I don’t want her to die. I just want to hold her” She continued bleating like a sheep not letting me even have peace of mind.

Chapter 161

I looked at her face and saw how pitiful she was, crying and wailing like a baby. The baby she’s carrying should be…I think she should be eight months pregnant. Her slim tommy was now big enough to store different kinds of food, she seemed like she could burst. I shouldn’t be too hard on a pregnant woman especially when the pregnancy is this heavy.

Maybe I should allow her to see Harper? What if it isn’t about Harper only? She might have a backup plan.

“Safiya, I think you should go and rest” I changed my mind and tried to talk in the best manner I could.

“I beg of you, Kaiden, please! Let me have a moment with her, no matter how brief” She cried out loud almost blasting my ear drum.

“You could have taken very good care of her if you loved her that much and then you would not have to be away from her because this would have never happened” I snapped.

“Leave now or I’ll call those horrible guards to take you away and I’m sure you wouldn’t like that” I warned, notifying her about my actions.

“Please Kaiden, you can’t do this to me” she wailed like sirens.

“Guards get her out of here” I called, summoning two out of them with a gesture, instructing them to escort her out.

“Leave me alone. Don’t you dare touch me” Safiya yelled, moving away from the guards as they approached her. She grabbed my clothes not wanting to let me go so I gently pushed her away to the guards.

“Leave me. Get your stinky hands off me.

Kaiden please, let me see Harper. I don’t know what to do without her” Safiya shouted.

“You know what, I think you should pray for her. That’s what you should do pray” I shouted so she could hear me.
