Chapter 4

“She’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with her, just the shock from rejecting her mate” those were the first words I heard when I opened my eyes.

The pack doctor was explaining to my worried father that I was perfectly fine and that there was no reason for him to panic.

“Are you sure, have you checked if her wolf is still..?”

“That would be when she wakes up” the pack daughter said

I groaned in a low voice, the pain I’m my heart was coming back, this time stronger than before.

“Oh my God, Freda baby, how are you feeling!” Dad yelled, rushing towards me.

The expression on his face told me everything I needed to know, my dad was worried about me and it would be quite hard to convince him that I was fine.

“I’m fine daddy” I croaked out, my father stretched out his hands and took the cup of warm water that was placed on the table beside my bed, he brought it up towards my lips and motioned for me to open up.

I took a sip of the water and almost moaned at the welcoming moisture that was coming from the water.

“Thank G***d you woke up baby, I don’t even know what I would have done if you were terribly hurt, But why didn’t you tell us what was happening, I and your mother were really worried” he said to me, his eyes filled with worry.

I looked around the room but I didn’t see my mum. “What about mum, is she angry because she thinks I took away Safiya’s boyfriend?” I asked, I knew very well that my stepmother didn’t like me.

Her favorite was Safiya and would always be Safiya, most at times whenever things happened to Safiya, she would blame me for being the mastermind.

Maybe that’s one of the main reasons why she refused to visit

me.

“No that’s not true baby, Safiya herself is heart broken so your mother went to console her, she would probably come visit you soon” Dad said

I scoffed in my mind, that was probably a lie, she would never come to see me.

I woke up from a brief nap and was shocked to see Kaiden standing at the window beside my bed, looking out

absentmindedly.

“Hey, what are you doing here In my room?” I called out.

He turned to look at me, his black eyes were strangely deeper in colour, almost like he was about to lose his temper with someone and I knew that it was probably me since I had done something he did want me to do.

“We f**g made an agreement and yet you still went behind. my back to ….F**K!”

He cursed, kicking the bed cabinet.

I jolted in fright but I summoned up the courage to speak up to him.

“So I should watch in silence while you and your sweetheart get engaged happily in front of me ?” I asked sarcastically with raised brows.

“I thought we agreed!”

“We agreed on nothing Kaiden, You don’t know how the f**k it hurts, you know what? Hey the f**k out of my ward nowñ before I call my father to beat you up!” I yelled at him, breathing heavily, my chest rising up and down and I could feel my chest hurting again.

My chest had been hurting a lot since yesterday.

“I’m going to let you calm down and we are going to talk about this again” he said and left the ward.

“I’ve rejected you and we are not talking about anything!” I yelled after him and dropped on the bed, a heart wrenching s*b escaping my throat.

“Your mother is dead, she died long ago” My step mom yelled.

“Before she died, you were the major reason for the rift between them, I knew very well what you did and I saw you doing it” I said in a mysterious tone.

She gritted her teeth and glared at me “what did you see! I didn’t do anything to your mother, I married your father fair and square” she said.

I sunk into my bed deeply, my mind going through the conversation I had just had with my stepmother.

She was really right.

Maybe I should just disappear.
