RECAP
You looked over at Hope. "Well that's not scary, but how is he going to get the knife if he's in a cell?" You trailed off, thinking back to Cassie. Hope saw your realisation.
"What?" She inquired, wanting to know the information.
You both came to a stop, looking Hope in the eyes. "Library, I think I may of just figured it out."
ââââ
Hope groaned. You started walking off. "Stop being vague!" Hope said, causing you to laugh as she followed you into the library. "I don't like you anymore." Hope said as she finally walked beside you to the library.
"That's a lie." You hold up the ball that had turned red.
Hope rolled her eyes. "Where the hell did you find that?" She asked
You shrugged. "Somewhere in our room, on your side." You smirked as you put the ball back in your jacket and walk into the library. Hope let out a aggravated sigh.
Once you were in the library you walked to the M-N bookshelf, searching for necromancy. You finally found it and walked down to the table, laying out the book. Hope shrugged. "We already know the name of the villain, Kate." Hope commented.
You rolled your eyes. "Not the name." You opened the book and pointed at the name. "A Necromancer can bring back the dead of loved ones or just any dead at all." You summarised. "That's probably why Jo showed up and my father.." You softly said.
Hope rubbed your arm in comfort. "You think the Necromancer brought Cassie back to take the knife." Hope stated, it wasn't really a question. You nodded slowly. "Kate, it's okay. We will kill him before he or Cassie takes the knife." Hope brought you in for a hug and you hugged back.
"Thank's Hope." You said in the crook of her neck.
You felt Hope smile on your shoulder. "We should probably go do something about it before it gets out of hand." Hope joked. You chuckled and you both left the hug. With a flick of the wrist the book went flying back to it's original spot. "You're getting better at controlling your magic." Hope said as you both walked out of the library.
"Maybe it's because of my teacher." You faked a thinking face, Hope laughed and smiled as she thought you were actually going to be nice. "I wonder who it could be, it can't be you because you'd be to bossy." You looked over at her.
"You do realise I can melt you from the inside out, right?" Hope replied. You started walking faster so you don't die. "Mm, that's what I thought." Hope ran up to you as you then slowed down. "Anyway, we need to find MG." Hope commented.
You looked at her. "Why? And I was kidding about you being bossy, you're a great teacher." You replied.
Hope smiled. "We need MG for something I want to do with the Necromancer." You groaned as you shut your eyes. "I knew you would react like that but please trust me on this one." Hope pleaded, grabbing your hands. Looking back and forth between her eyes made you want to say yes but you wanted to say no, but you came to the conclusion that Hope was going to do this with or without you and you didn't want her doing this by herself.
"Fine." You replied. Hope smiled.
ââââ
You and Hope walked into the gym, Kaleb leaving MG alone. 'Wonder what they were talking about.' You thought.
"MG? Do you know how to do a head dive?" Hope asked.
"Is that a thing?" He asked, confused. You shrugged.
Hope nodded. "It is, it's just takes a little, um, precision." Hope responded.
MG looked at hope. "I don't know. I mean, you might want to get Kaleb."
"Kaleb's not on out Avenger's squad, now is he?" Hope asked with a little sass.
You looked over at Hope. "You have a squad and I'm not in it?" You asked her.
Hope rolled her eyes. "You are, relax." Hope looked at you before looking back at MG. Hope walked forward and placed the book she was holding on MG's chest. Him quickly grabbing it. "Here. But not a word of this to Dr.Saltzman."
ââââ
MG had agreed. Now we were walking down the stairs to the Necromancer. "It's so cold. It's like compulsion but while I'm on the surface of his mind, heroic-like, I'm plunging you into the deep end-" MG got cut off from his excitement as he looked at the Necromancer. "Holy Mary, mother of demons."
"He's so ugly." You mumbled, thankfully, no one heard it.
"Hello, Milton!" He said with excitement. MG looked confused. "You're great-nana, Imogene, is waving hello just over your shoulder." He said in a voice that was very evil. Or at least you thought it was evil.
MG moved out of the door way. "You can see my great-nana?" MG asked.
"Oh, I can see everything." That's not creepy at all. You and Hope looked over at each other. "She's most disappointed in you for forsaking Jesus, who I can also see, but, oh, I know, that's another can of worms. Shall we begin?" He asked as if nothing he said was wrong. Hope moved to the door as he was speaking and started unlocking the door.
You rolled your head back before looking back at he Necromancer. He sat down while Hope moved to the door and started unblocking the door, MG following closely behind and you just slowly made your way over. "Uh- we're going in there? With him?" MG asked.
"With me, The Almighty Necro-" He got cut off by Hope.
"Please. Can we not do all that again?" Hope pleaded.
MG was terrified. "Did you steal them keys from Dr.Saltzman?" MG asked Hope.
"Yeah, I did." Hope's voice was drained as she moved the weighted door to get in.
"Oh boy." MG said, scared.
Hope turned around after she finished opening the door. "MG, pull it together." Hope commented, moving inside, allowing MG and you to walk in.
MG looked at the man in front of us. "You have no reason to fear me, I assure you." The Necromancer said to MG. Hope shutting the door.
"You're basically the Grim Reaper." MG replied. You moved behind the ugly face man and watched the interaction. Hope had filled you in minutes prior to finding MG that you and Hope would be going into his mind.
The Necromancer looked offended. "Oh, the Reaper is a carnival sideshow hack!" He stated. Hope walked over to the other side of the cell with the keys in hand. "No, you... you dirty your mouth mentioning his name in my presence. Perhaps I should summon Nana to wash it out with soap?" He questioned. Hope had now also come behind the Necromancer.
"No, you leave my Nana be. Don't nobody need to be whupped by Nana right now." MG stated then he sighed. "Okay. I stand here, hands on his shoulders." MG explained. Hope put her right hand on his shoulder while you did the same with your left. "Hold hands so this can work." MG said, you both doing as she said.
The Necromancer seemed to enjoy this. "Ooh." Was all he said.
"Now, you and I join hands." MG looked down as he opened his hands his joints crack, causing a shiver to run down your spine as you heard it. MG grabbed his hands, his joints cracking once again as he gripped MG's hand. Hope squeezed your hand in a form of comfort. "Now I look into your eyes. Open your mind to me. Like, lifting a window to let the breeze in." MG said.
You and Hope closed your eyes. It was black for a while until you and Hope had opened your eyes to see you were in a bar. "I'll be damned." The Necromancer laughed, causing you and Hope to look over ta him. "I mean, I'm obviously damned, but it worked." He said. Hope looked as if she knew where we were.
"What the hell are we doing here?" Hope asked, immediately after he finished.
He shrugged. "You are the one who invited yourself along." The Necromancer said.
Hope walked closer to the man in front of us. You walked to the bar and sat up on it, just watching the scene play out. "Here. This restaurant is in New Orleans. I've spent half my childhood here." Hope explained. You were right when you thought she recognised this place.
"Yes. Rousseau's." He said. "I spent a good amount of time here before the nineteen-twenty's. Your father was good for my business, always killing people." He poured a drink and took a sip of it.
"How do you know about my dad?" Hope questioned.
He put his drink down. "Well, he's standing right behind you." Hope turned around immediately to see if her dad was there. When she was met with nothing, she looked at you with sad eyes and a sad smile. The Necromancer laughed, Hope turning around with a annoyed face. "Kidding. Kidding. But, his spirit is all around you." He looked over at you. "Same with you, your father is all around you." You looked over at him with a done face.
"At least we know they love us. You probably got no one around you." You fired back, had a small smile on her face while the Necromancer looked down before looking back up at Hope.
"Plus, he and I did our fair share of drinking here when he was at his most murder-y." He took another sip of his drink.
Hope had her serious face on again. "Are you messing with me right now?" Hope asked, almost as if she was going to cry.
"Frankly, I think you're the ones messing we me." He got up in Hope's face and pointed at Hope and you. "All this talk about solving the mystery of Malivore. I think you and I both know which mystery you'd love me to solve. Even Kate would want to solve this mystery." You looked over at him, getting off the bar and walking over to stand next to Hope. "You both want to know how your dad's are. Or should I say, where he is? Huh?"
"No. No, I don't." Hope replied. You nodded your head in agreement. The Necromancer walked past you and Hope so now you both turned around to look at him.
He turned around. "Sure you do! You want to know if he's at peace or if he's suffering. Regretting his sacrifice." The Necromancer explained. "After all, he did die to save your life. A lovely gesture for such a mercurial man. Hmm. Not to bother. I'm not telling you anything until we've finished our journey." The Necromancer said. "You." He pointed at you.
"Me." You responded.
"You want to know if Tyler is also at peace or if he's suffering. He died at the hands of someone you actually know, Damon Salvatore, you never actually got to meet him but your father knew him." He was trying to get on your nerves.
You looked at him with glaring eyes. "Shut up." You responded. The Necromancer laughed. Hope looked over at you, rubbing your back in a way of comfort.
The Necromancer then spoke. "Now, let's get started, shall we? This is my conscious mind. We need to find the door to my subconscious. Look for a hallway to nowhere, an endless staircase. Something like that." The Necromancer said. Hope and you looked around but then the sound of music filled our ears. "Ooh, a second line." The necromancer chuckled. "My favourite."
We all walked outside to see people dancing with all their hearts. "Well, this is, different." You commented.
Hope nodded. "Yeah, Mystic Falls is completely different to New Orleans." Hope responded.
"Yeah!" He yells over the loud music. "How I love the macabre! Oh, oh! The dance of death." He turned around to look at us. "I wonder, who's the guest of honour? Let's take a look." He walked over to the coffin. "Perhaps, Klaus Mikaelson? What about Tyler Lockwood?" He laughed.
"No!" Hope and you both scream at the same time as he opens the coffin, we grab the edges of the coffin and see nothing in there.
"There's nothing there." Hope replied.
The Necromancer was just dancing. "You're not ready for the truth." He commented.
"No, like, literally nothing." You said. Looking up at him.
"Hmm?" He hummed as he looked at it. "Ah, clever girl. May I present the door to my subconscious?" He laid out his hand as if it was a presentation. "Well done, you two." He said before grunting and jumping inside.
You and Hope both gasped, he just left you there.
