RECAP
You raised your hand and the gun came to you. "People who care about him." You glared at the older women. You came into the house so you could get a better shot at pointing the gun at the women.
Hope walked to the right of Ric. "So tell us where he is before she blow's your head off." Hope also glared ta the women.
Alaric grabbed your hands, taking the gun off you. She looked down and too Hope. "You must be Hope." She then looked at you. "And you must be Kate." Landon's hen came out of the bathroom and you and Hope just stared at him.
ââââ
"Landon.." Your eyes watered as you moved away from Alaric and toward Landon.
Landon looked at you. "Kate." He responded and walked up to you, englufing you in a hug. "God I missed you." Landon whispered.
"Me too." You looked up at him, a few tears escaping your eyes and Landon wiped them.
Hope softened at the sight while Alaric and who your guessing is Landon's mother also watch
You got out of the hug. "So you're the headmaster of a private school for supernaturals." She stated as you all made a circle type thing. "And you two are the teacher's pet?" She looked at you and Hope, you gave her an annoyed stare.
You looked at her. "Teacher's pet? Only been at the school for a couple months now, keep your judge level to me on about a five, goes any higher I might just kill you." You glared at her, Alaric looked at you with a face that said 'enough'. Hope just smirked but quickly hid it.
"Actually, they're kind of a pain in my ass." Alaric joked. You both glared at him.
Hope looked at Landon's mother. "A little judgy for an absentee mother." Hope fired back.
Landon's mom looked at Landon. "You were wrong. I like them." She turned to Landon who sat on the bed.
"Well, now you know about us. All we know about you is that you gave birth to Landon, he says a monster attacked you, and now there's some sort of fake gas company coming after you two. So, I think it's time you start filling in some blanks." Alaric summarised as he stared at the women.
She moved from in front of us to sit on the bed in front of Landon. "When I finished my service in the army, I was recruited by an intelligence organization. The States sounded like a better life. I didn't know what I was signing up for, but soon I learned that things like you," She looked at Hope and you. "exist in this world." She paused. Then looked over to Ric. "My job was very much like yours. To keep the supernatural world a secret." She then looked at Landon. "Whenever a monster went bump in the night and risked exposing the truth, I tracked it down and brought it back to headquarters." She explained.
Hope moved forward. "We're not monsters." Hope stated.
"You are to me." She locked eyes with Hope, not breaking it.
Alaric cut in. "This head quarters, where is it?" He inquired.
"Sorry. You just seem morally inclined enough to do something stupid," She looked at Ric. "and there's too much blood on my hands as it is." She spoke honestly. You moved to sit on the end of the bed next to Landon. "A few years in, I saw something I shouldn't. I became the hunted, instead of the hunter." Hope then sat on the bed behind Land and you,s he was still able to see Landon's mother. Alaric moved to sit on a seat, pointing it towards Seylah.
She looked at you. "What exactly did you see?" You asked.
"I wanted to know what was happening to the monsters." She responded. "Because even though I, spent all that time studying their every move, I couldn't remember them, at all. So I started taking notes. I realized my memory was being erased. The question was: How?" She continued.
Alaric commented. "Malivore."
"How do you know about Malivore?" She asked
You all looked over at Alaric. "Landon took a knife that belonged to our school's collection. Now monsters that shouldn't exist have been coming after it ever since." Alaric summarised.
"He means I stole it." You sighed as Landon said that. He didn't mean to do it. "And then I, like, um, woke it up or something." He looked at Hope, you and Ric. "What's Malivore?" He asked, looking at his mother, fiddling with his hands as a way to stay calm.
Hope cut in. "It's a hell dimension. That consumes creatures and wipes their existence from the collective conscience." She paused, looking at Seylah. "Sound about right?"
"More or less." Seylah responded, looking in between Hope and Landon.
Landon looked at you. "Awesome."
"The last monster that came for the knife was a Necromancer who screwed us over and returned it back to Malivore." Landon looked at Hope with a confused look. "Long story." She replied to his questioning gaze.
You cut in. "But he said that the knife is one of three keys that kept Malivore contained, so why are the monsters still coming for you?" You continued and Landon looked at you.
Landon looked between you and Hope. "I have no idea. Didn't really get a chance to ask the last one. He just tried to eat me." Landon explained.
Alaric spoke up. "As you can see, it's been a rough semester." Alaric joked.
"It will only get worse," Seylah responded in a serious tone. "if you don't go home and forget you heard the name. Just like we forget anyone who's ever been there." Seylah started getting up.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait. You-you have to tell us more. I mean-" Landon looked up at Seylah, you and Hope doing the same.
Seylah remained with a calm voice. "I don't know who your father is." She looked at Landon. You rubbed his back in comfort. "My job was stressful, so I had flings to blow off steam." She paused. "Got pregnant, and just like your not-girlfriend said, I'm not equipped to be a mother." She looked at Hope. "Sorry. I thought I was giving you a better life." She then walked off and towards the door, opening then closing it.
Again, that pain you felt went she said girlfriend came back, Hope may have told you she liked you but you know she would forever like Landon, no matter what. You sighed. "I'm sorry, Landon." You mumbled, grabbing his hand as you got up and went outside for some fresh air, giving the 2 some time alone, although it hurt you to leave, you weren't sure if it was because of Landon or Hope.
As you stand outside, you move to a seat and lift your legs to your chest, wrapping your arms around then. A few tears ran down your cheek as you thought of Hope and Landon. Yes you had a crush on her, yes she liked you back but what if that was a lie? What if she said that to move on from Landon? You sat there, alone for a while as you let those thoughts linger in your head.
Alaric tapped on your arms and you looked up wiping your tears. "You all right?" He asked as he sat down next to you. You shook your head back and forth. "You wanna talk about it?" He questioned.
You nodded. "So, for a couple days now, Hope and I admitted to having feelings for each other." You paused as you took a deep breathe. "But seeing the way she looks at Landon right now is making me think she stills likes Landon." You let out a shaky breathe.
Alaric nodded but didn't say anything. "Come one, let's head inside." He responded and we both got up and moved to the door, Alaric opening it. "Oh! Hey, uh-" Alaric exclaimed, you caught a glimpse of Hope on top Landon, about to have sex. It was obvious she made her choice. Hope and Landon gasped as they spotted Alaric turned around and you. You looked Alaric in the eyes, a few tears running down your cheek. "Go." He whispered, and you nodded as you didn't want to be around Hope anymore.
"Kate-" She said but Alaric turned around and she became quiet, then starting to argue with him. You walked towards the car you sat in for almost 2 days now and just leaned against it. You let your body roll down the car until you sat on the floor, legs out while you just replayed the image of Hope and Landon.
You were so stupid to think that Hope actually liked you. You then felt a hand tap your shoulder. "Are you okay?" This random person said.
"Go away, please." You asked softly. But they didn't.
"Hey, answer. I just want to help. Hello?" They kept asking if you were okay and you just got so annoyed.
"Ventus!" You chanted that sent the person flying backwards with a immense gust of wind. They got up from the ground and looked over at you who was standing up now.
"Hey, what the hell was that?!" He yelled at you, obviously he was human as he didn't know you used magic and was just confused. "You think you're some witch? No, your a little bitch who won't take my help." You looked up at him.
You glared at him. "Errox Femus!" You raised your hand and heard all these cracks come from his body. He screamed in agony as he fell to the floor in pain, un able to move.
He breathed heavy. "What the hell was that?" He asked, scared.
You stood over his body. "I told you to leave, not keep asking me questions." You got out of his face as you looked at you terrified. "Incendia." You simply said and stood away as you watched his body lit up in flames as he died, what you forgot was that you were also a werewolf and you had just activated it. Realising you just did this in the middle of no where, you needed to hide I the body so you did just that and put it in a dumpster.
Now that you were just irritated, depressed, and angry, you walked back to the van and leant on it. Would you have turned it off if you were a vampire? Maybe. You noticed Hope leaving after hearing a door open. She saw you as she was leaving and turned to look at you; the sight of you made her expression soften. You left the car and headed for the door. "Kate, I-" You simply walked past her and went inside before allowing her to finish.
You heard Hope sigh before shutting the door, as you shut the door, you replayed the image of killing the man. You then realised what you had done. You breathe was uneven as you let out a shaky breathe. "Alaric.." You whispered.
You looked up to see him looking at you with a worried look. "What's wrong?" He asked, walking towards you and quitting you to sit down on the bed. Landon watched.
You stared him in the eyes with teary ones. "I think I just activated my werewolf curse.." You whispered, placing you hands in your lap.
Alaric placed a seat in front of you and looked you in the eyes, shocked. Landon also shocked. "Okay.." The Headmaster remained calm. "What happened..?" He asked.
You let out a shaky breathe. "He kept asking me questions and I told him to leave me alone.." You started. "but he didn't, so I chanted a spell that throws people with a gust of wind, a bone breaking spell, and fire spell." You explained. Alaric nodded, letting out a sigh. "I was just so.. you know.." You looked at Alaric, you didn't want to say why you did it in front of Landon and Alaric realised why. "I was caught up in the moment.. and then he was dead, I put him in a dumpster but I didn't realise I actually killed him-killed him until now.." You looked down, disappointed.
"Hey, it's okay." Landon sat next to you, rubbing your shoulder.
You laid in the chair, almost about to fall asleep while Landon and Alaric continued what they were talking about. Alaric was about to leave when the door creaked open, your eyes were shut so you didn't bother to open them. You then heard squelching from something but still didn't bother to open your eyes.
"Bigger fish." Landon spoke. "Huge fish!" He yelled. You heard Alaric pull out a gun but then Hope.
"Ictus!" Hope chanted, causing the monster to fly back and the door to slam. "Also: ick!" You opened your eyes at the loud bang, jumping as you heard it.
Landon looked terrified as hell. "See? Danger Magnet!" He exclaimed, pointing at the monster.
You groaned as you got up out of the chair. "What the hell was that?" You groaned.
Everyone looked to you, even Hope but you ignored her. "Uh, I'm guessing a Mer-Man." Alaric panicked as he told us.
