RECAP
Hope kept her hand on yours. "I felt so much guilt for killing you." You looked her in the eye, tears forming in yours.
"But I know you and you wouldn't do that." She responded and you nodded.
"I know, but it felt so real." You sighed. "Guess that's what she wants me to think." You groaned, luckily no tears fell. "God, I was just so tried.." You let your head fall so now you were looking down.
"Me too." Hope responded. "But we need to stay awake, okay?" She asked and you nodded.

You now sat in Alaric office, it was red where the monster slashed you but you were completely healed. Landon had stabbed a pencil in his hand so he could get out of a nightmare and now Hope was patching him up.
Alaric was speaking over the P.A. "The senior witch faculty has mixed together a batch of energy herbs to help you stay awake. So, for those of you who are not getting on the evacuation bus, for lack of a better term, please dose yourselves responsibly." He then brought the P.A away from his mouth and stared at us. "I'm gonna get sued." He bluntly said, placing the P.A on his desk. "Or hexed, at the very least." He sat on his desk.
"You don't have to be so hard on yourself. At my last school, the gym teacher was dealing coke under the bleachers." Landon stared at Alaric while Hope continued to patch up Landon.
Hope looked at Landon with a 'are you serious' face. "Oh, yeah, that only makes me feel marginally better." Alaric replied, sarcastically.
"Ow." Landon said and you placed your hand on his right forearm in a way of comfort.
Hope looked Landon in the eye. "Hey- uh, hold still. I'm almost done, okay?" She looked back down to the stab wound. She continued putting something on it.
"Okay." He responded to Hope. "What do you think she meant when she said 'bring it home'?" Landon asks.
"I'm guessing she means Malivore." Hope and you looked up as ALaric said Malivore. "It seems her plan is to torment us until we produce the urn." Alaric commented.
You cut in. "Good thing it didn't search my memories for the urn." Everyone looked at you shocked, besides Hope. "I fell asleep, by accident but like I said, she didn't search my memories for the urn. We would have been stuffed if she did." You took your hand off Landons arm.
Landon looked at you before continuing. "Right." He trailed off. "But if the Night Hag is a monster that's trapped on the astral plane, then how can she even physically take the urn anywhere?" He made a good point.
Alaric nodded. "Yeah, the book also says the Night Hag can't affect our reality, but..." He trailed off. "Rafael's welt, your hand and Kate's forearm seemed to prove that wrong." He stated. "When your research consists of fairy tales and urban legends, sometimes the stories get twisted." Alaric continued.
"Human dragon, anyone?" Hope spoke up, not taking her eyes off of Landons hand.
Hope looked over at Ric. "Dorian might be busy with the evacuation, but we'll figure this out." Alaric continued, not bothering to answer Hope. "When the Night Hag finds a way to get the urn, we'll be there to stop it."
"Well, at least it was a pretty memorable first day." He joked, looking at his hand.
Alaric agreed. "Yeah, and the Night Hag is likely just getting started. You know, Landon, I really wish you'd just evacuate with the others." Alaric looked at Landon.
Landon looked surprised when Alaric said that. "I worked so hard to get here. If I run at the first sign of trouble, what's the point?" Landon argued.
"The point, Landon, is that we're trying to look after you." Alaric moved and sat down on the chair near Hope.
Landon slightly smiled, Hope looking up and Landon looking into both Alarics and Hopes eyes.. "Honestly, you two are taking better care of me than anyone in my life ever has." Landon didn't include you because you and him always looked after each other. Landon then looked at Hope. "Course, I had to stab myself to get you and Kate's attention." He looked between you and Hope.
You and Hope looked at each other before back to Landon. "You know, we're all good here." Hope looked over at Alaric then back to Landon, smiling slightly before getting up and starting to walk out.
She stopped when she realised you weren't following her. "Good luck, Landon." You said, smiling at him before jogging up to Hope and leaving the room.

"Hey." You said as you walked into the gym, seeing Rafael punch a punching bag quite aggressively. But he stopped when he saw you, breathing heavily. "Have something against the bag?" You asked.
He chuckled. "Yeah, I'm almost done here." He chuckled, looking at you. "I'll get out your way." He looked down and started taking off his gloves.
You tied up your gloves. "You know- no, actually, I could use a sparring partner." You replied. He looked at you in a questioning way. "I need to take my anger out before the full moon comes, so.." You trailed off, completing forgetting you haven't told Rafael yet.
"Why do you need to do that before the full moon, Kate?" He inquired, obviously he forgot about you being a werewolf as well.
When he said that you realised you messed up, you didn't want him to know but you were going to have to tell him. "I activated my curse, Raf." Rafael was shocked. He knew you'd never kill anyone in your life even if you weren't a werewolf. "Short story: someone was annoying me and I lashed out. At the time I was angry at someone." You didn't feel like explaining any more. Rafael nodded. "Anyway, if I don't punch someone, I'm gonna fall asleep." You joked.
Rafael laughed. "Yeah. All right. You know, that's very Hope of you to say." He joked back. "You have been spending a lot of time with her." You pushed him in a joking matter.
You didn't know how to respond. "Just get into positions." You jokingly glared at him. You two got into positions and started sparring. Rafael was going easy on you and it was annoying. "You're being too gentle." You back away, catching your breathe. Rafael doing the same.
He looked at you. "I'm punching you with half my weight." He responded.
"Give me all of it." You throw another punch. Both of you grunting as you sparred.
You blocked a punch and he looked down. "That's gonna hurt." He commented.
"No it's not." You went for another punch. "I've been through enough pain, a little punch is nothing." You say in between grunts.
Now you and Rafael were full on sparring. he was giving all his strength and you were too. "Don't let me take you down." You smirked. "I have no desire of being alpha here."
You go for another punch but Rafael kicks the back of your of knee, knocking you to the ground. "Kate, you good?" He questioned, being vulnerable in that moment you took advantage of it.
You punch him in the stomach but he's quick to recover. You're back on your feet and both of you are at it again. You get behind Rafael, kicking the inside of his knee, grabbing him by the neck and throwing him to the ground.
You straddled him as you hold him down by the neck, his hand on yours. Then he patted your hand as he gave up. You smiled at him as you rolled over so you weren't on top of him. Your hands resting on your stomach.
Both you and Rafael breathing heavily. "Damn, women." He looked at the ceiling, you looked at him then looked at the ceiling. "I've never seen you this good at combat. I'm impressed." You laughed.
"I have a great trainer." You replied. Rafael knowing who it is. You both sighed, looking at each other. "I'm really sorry for not being there for you, Raf, but all that's happened to you in your life made you so good at brawling," You joked. "but I really needed that just now." You smiled and him and he smiled back.
"No need to be sorry." He replied. You nodded.
The room was silent until he spoke up again. "And same here, I needed that as well." He laughed causing you to laugh. "Listen," You watched as he lifted himself up, grunting. You follow his movement, both of you sitting in front of each other. "I know you and Hope are together and everything and I don't mean to get in your business but, stay and be cool with Landon, okay?" You nodded. You were confused why you wouldn't be cool with Landon. "We know him, and we both know he's not gonna believe that he's welcome here until he's about to graduate." Rafael continued. "He's gonna be waiting on the other shoe to drop. And look, if-if you and Hope are gonna drop that shoe, all I ask is that you... you be gentle, okay?"
You nodded. "Of course, Raf, why would I be gentle?" Rafael didn't answer. "And what makes you think that there's another shoe?" You asked.
Rafael looked in between your eyes. "The foster system, there's always another shoe." He explained. Right, how could you be so stupid? "Sometimes it's-it's an actual shoe or..." He trailed off. "a belt. But you get the point and I understand that shoe might've dropped for you but it hasn't for Landon and me." Rafael explained. "Look, if you and Hope are cooling off on him, fine. But just don't lie to him." Rafael said.
You have been lying to him but you are doing that to protect him. "We're not cooling off on him." You responded in a gentle tone.
"Why have you two been avoiding him?" Rafael asked.
You looked down at the floor, answering quickly. "Because there's a lot going on." You lied, your tone a little more harsh but still gentle.
Rafael watched you look down. "It couldn't hurt to be a little more honest about it." Rafael commented.
You looked back up at Rafael. "We're being as honest as we can be."
"Yeah. And somewhere still in that is a lie." Rafael accused.
You hated to admit it but he was right and it was getting on your nerves. "You've never lied to protect someone?" You asked.
Rafael shook his head. That's defiantly a lie. "No, Kate. I haven't." He replied, getting up and leaving the gym, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
After a while of sitting in the gym you decided to get up and leave the gym. After leaving the gym and turn a corner, you crash into Hope. "Hey, sorry." You said as you crashed into her.
She chuckled. "All good. Were you just sparring?"
You nodded. "Yeah, with Rafael." You replied.
"Did you win?" She asked, smiling.
"Mhm." You replied. "Got a great sparring trainer." You smiled back.
As you two continued walking, you crashed into Alaric, but just then Landon showed up. "Dr.Saltzman." Landon called.
Ric turned around. " 'Dr.Saltzman, I have changed my mind. I've decided to take you up on your offer and get the hell out with every other sane person here.' "Alaric was hoping Landon might say that. Landon looked at you, confused but you just shrugged.
He looked back to Ric. "No, actually, I took your advice and I stayed busy, and I think I found something." Alaric sighed while Landon started moving backwards. You and Hope just looked at each other.
We walked into the library as Landon started talking again. "Let's pretend for a second that the research isn't wrong." He started. "Maybe the Night Hag can't hurt us in real life. Maybe the Night Hag can't leave the astral plane and get ahold of the urn, so maybe we are not dealing with a Night Hag." We came to a stop around the table.
All of you stared at Landon. "Well, if it walks like a Night Hag and talks like a Night Hag, what else could it be?" Alaric questioned the teenager in front of him.
"That's exactly what I was wondering, so then I started going through all these books and," Landon turned a book around to face us and placed. A finger on the page. "boom."
You and Hope looked at it. "Woah, what's an Oneiroi?" You asked.
Alaric looked at the page then looked back up to look into our eyes, keeping a straight face. "It's a black-winged shapeshifting dream demon from Greek mythology." Alaric explained, picking up the book. You and Hope now stood next to Landon.
"Yeah, of course he knows what it is." Landon chuckled.
Hope gave a questioning look to Alaric. "Why would one monster disguise itself as another monster?" Hope inquired. "The Oneiroi sounds freaky enough." Hope looked at you while you nodded in agreement.
Landon looked at all of us. "Because if we knew what it actually was-" Landon didn't get to finish his sentence.
"We'd know how to stop it." Alaric finished his sentence. Landon looked at Alaric with a 'yes' face. Before Alaric left he spoke up again. "Kate, kiss him for me." He looked at you while you looked at Hope and Landon. Alaric then left with the book.
That was awkward. "I hope he meant cheek and not lips." You looked into Landons eyes while he nodded in agreement. Hope looked down as she wanted to laugh at that comment.
