RECAP

"Well," Alaric placed the ice pack on the table. "I'm sure we'll think of something." Alaric replied, looking at the urn.

You both looked at them. "I'm rich?" You asked. Hope looked at you and giggled. "Well, I mean, "I'm guessing I'm rich since you just said 'Lockwood' and Mansion' in the same sentence." You looked between both of them.

Alaric laughed before he spoke up. "You, Kate, come from a very wealthy family but your dad wanted nothing to do with the money believe it or not." Alaric explained.

"I've been alive for seventeen years and yet I never knew of this place." You said, still amazed at the fact you are rich. Alaric and Hope just chuckled as you said that. Hope found it adorable how shocked your were.

————

You and Hope sat in Alarics office. Hope and you were making sharper arrows while Alaric checked his bow was good enough. You sighed, Hope looked up at you. "You sure it glowed again?" You asked, not taking you eyes off of the arrow.

Alaric pointed the crossbow up, not looking at you. "I sleep with the damn thing under my pillow. It's hard to miss." Alaric pulled the trigger, making sure the wire is good enough.

"What do you think it's gonna be this time?" Hope questioned. She took her eyes off the arrows and looked up at Alaric. Alaric and you looked at her. "Hmm? Cyclops? Slender Man?" Hope questioned.

You looked at how sharp your arrow was. "Santa?" You said in a judgmental tone. Hope and Alaric looked at you as you said that. "What?" You asked.

Alaric chuckled. "Well, given out luck, I think it's safe to rule out Ol' Saint Nick." Alaric replied.

You clicked your tongue. "I don't know." You placed your arrow on the table and rested your head on your hand. "I mean, Santa Claus is kind of terrifying when you think about it." You stated. "Breaks into your home. He sees you when you're sleeping. Not to mention, judge-y." Hope thought about it for a second and agreed.

"She's right. He is kind of freaky." Hope backed up your statement and you sent her a smile which she returned.

Alaric moved from behind is desk to the book shelf over to his right. "Kate, Hope, I need you to focus." Alaric said.

You rubbed your temples, getting up to get a drink of water that sat on the other side of the room for some reason. "Look, we're trying. I just wish that Satan's nightlight would give us some rest." Hope sighed.

"Yeah." Alaric returned and placed something on the table. "And I wish that knife was never in our school to begin with, but it's not like we can change that now." You drank some water and looked at Alaric. "All we can do is make sure we're not blindsided by another monster waltzing through our doors." Alaric continued. You moved to stand behind Hope who looked up at you with a warm smile.

You and Hope stopped starring at each other and to the door opening up. "Too late." Hope replied in a monotone voice. You looked at her Hope with a 'enough' face but Hope just shrugged.

"Oh god. Uh, girls. What are you doing here?" Alaric questioned, moving to stand next to you while Hope stood up and turned her body towards the twins. "You're not supposed to get in until tonight." Alaric stated, confused.

Lizzie glared at her dad. "Mom was able to get us direct into Dulles. Then faxed, texted and e-mailed you our revised itinerary." Alaric sighed as Lizzie said that. Lizzie was exaggerating a bit but it was Lizzie so she was bound to over react. Josie just stayed quiet.

"I am so sorry. It's-It's chaos around here." Alaric replied.

Josie looked at her sister who was about to talk back but Lizzie covered it up. "It's okay, Dad. We know that you're overwhelmed. But Europe was amazing. And seeing Mom was really good." Josie smiled.

"Jo's covered the bright side. Far less sunny was waiting for you in the chilly dark of morning at the terminal and you not showing up." Lizzie popped the 'p' on up and dropped her bag off her shoulder and explained about the 'bad' side of their trip. That's not even that bad.

"In his defence, um, we've been in crisis mode around here." You replied to Lizzie.

Lizzie looked over at you. "Oh, we've heard all about it." Lizzie immediately commented back. "Hope and you got bamboozled by one of the monsters and now only two keys separate the entire supernatural community from being consumed by a hell portal." She looked back and forth between you and Hope while you scoffed. "I'm guessing that weird little vase is one of them?" Lizzie questioned, pointing at the vase.

"It's an urn, actually." Hope responded.

Lizzie glared at Hope. "I don't care what it is." You and Hope looked at Lizzie with annoyed faces. "I care that instead of being welcomed at the airport, we were forced to take a three-hour shuttle ride that smelled like an open sewer." She paused, sounding like she about to cry. "And feet. Thanks a lot, Hope and Kate." You and Hope shared the same face of being shocked by Lizzie's comment. "Way to ruin life for the rest of us." Lizzie then walked off.

Josie also walked off so you took it as your time to speak. "God." You groaned. "I know she's my cousin but Jesus, how do you put up with that?" You questioned Alaric, but he didn't respond. Hope nodded in agreement.

————

You sat in a bar in New Orleans with Hope Mikaelson. "Mm, I'm thirsty. Why don't we have a drink?" You asked her, smirking slightly. Hope saw where you were coming from.

"Why not." She responded. The both of you then started killing everyone in the bar. Hope was feeding on the guy playing the trumpet while you fed on the bar tender.

The trumpet player was playing a nice harmony as he died but then the door opened and walk in three heartbeats. The harmony was gone as his head fell off and rolled. You finished drinking the bar tender and pushed him over so the body wasn't on the table. "Gross." You heard a girl say. "You've got to be kidding me." The same girl said.

You walked up to stand beside Hope, wiping your face as you did so. "Who the hell are you?" Hope questioned, wiping a little blood that was dripping off her face.

"Uh-uh. Time out, Genie." The blonde said.

You and Hope looked at the blonde one, confused. "My name is Hope and hers is Kate. And you need to leave unless you want to be dessert." Hope sassily said.

The blonde rolled her eyes. "Wait." The older guy stepped forward. "Hope Mikaelson? Kate Parker?" He asked.

"I don't go by my mothers maiden name anymore, I go by Lockwood, my fathers name." You glared at him.

Alaric nodded in understanding of your explanation. "I knew your parents." He looked between you two. "I know where all this darkness you're feeling comes from." The blonde rolled her eyes once again. "If you two just talk to me, I... really think I could help." You and Hope just stared at him as he spoke, until making your decision.

After a long ride back to this school called The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, the guy, Alaric, took you to this school but it was really just a school for the supernatural factions, but Alaric did a good job at hiding it from the real world.

You and Hope were now sparring with Alaric on the dock. Grunts and panting were heard as he fought the both of you. You didn't mean to but you used your vamp hearing at heard the brunette talk to her sister. "Now that we have two Trirbid's, we're in the game, for real."

We then came to a slight stop but still ready to fight. "You belong here, Hope and Kate. This could be your home." He paused, taking a couple breathes. "The family you lost." You all started sparring again.

"We can't stay." You breathed out while focusing on attacking Alaric. "We've done so many awful things." You and Hope quickly glanced at each other.

Hope went to kick Alaric but he blocked it. We then came to another stop. "That's because no one was there to guide you." He looked between the both of you. "I don't blame you, Hope, Kate. I should have found you two sooner." He replied honestly.

You and Hope just watched him, unsure of what to say. But he then dropped the sparring sticks and brought you two in for a hug.

————

"Now, remember, if anybody starts messing with you, just play it cool." Alaric said, parking his car in the teachers car spot.

Josie rolled her eyes at her dad. "Don't worry, Dad. We know. No magic allowed. Blah, blah, blah." Josie mimicked her father.

You spoke up. "It's okay, Uncle Ric, we understand." He looked at you and smiled while you smiled back.

"Public school. Makes sense." Lizzie bluntly said. You all looked at her.

Alaric looked at all of you. "All right, well, I hate to sound like a broken record, but if you expose your powers-" He didn't get to finish his sentence.

"You risk becoming a target." Josie completed his sentence.

Alaric nodded at his daughter. "All right, girls, we'll see you in class." You went to get out but Lizzie spoke up.

"Wait!" Lizzie said. "Why am I in the back seat?" She questioned. None of you answered and just got out of the car.

Josie walked through the door, Lizzie stumbling to catch up to her. You took your time as you grabbed your bag. "Sorry, Uncle Ric." You chuckled as you closed the door.

"Nah, don't be. You like to take your time and that's perfectly fine." He smiled back as you now walked through the school door.

You walked away from Uncle Ric as he went to his class room and you walked into the gym. You saw Josie kissing Conner in front of Lizzie, you rolled your eyes as Connor was a dick to everyone but Josie as his footy mates.

You walked over to the bleachers to where your friends are and saw your homecoming dates, which were basically all your friends. "Hey, guys." You said, sitting next to them.

"Hey, Kate." They all responded.

You all just started having random conversations, like what you did over the weekend, boys, girls, anything. The bell then rang and everyone in the gym left and went to their classes.

You, Josie and Lizzie were all in the same class. "Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Alaric started, he sounded off though. "And the truth is, those twenty-seven civilians, they weren't.... casualties of, uh..." He trailed off. He was day-drunk, great. "uh... Does anyone remember the name of the battle? Anyone?" He asked. "Anyone?" He asked more sternly, you knew the battle but wanted to see if anyone else.

Lizzie leaned over towards you and Josie. "Is it just me, or is Dad a little day-drunk?" She asked you guys quietly.

Alaric cleared his throat. Josie looked at Lizzie. "When isn't he?" She answered with a questioned.

"Josie?" He called out, gazing the attention of the ten to answer the question.

Josie stumbled on her words, unsure of what it was. "The battle of Willow Creek." You answered, looking Alaric in the eyes.

He pointed at you. "Exactly." Was all he said. "All those civilians, they were just rounded up by their friends and neighbours, all because they were different." Alaric checked the time on his watch.

The bell then rang and we all walked out of class. You quickly went to your locker as you needed your books and zoned out of Lizzie and Josie's conversation. But because your brain hates you, you zoned in. "Stefanie Salvatore's dad gave him the watch. It's a magical object that I can siphon so I can take things to the next level with Connor." Josie stated, right, that, she wants Lizzie to get Uncle Ric's watch.

"And by, um, 'take things to the next level,' you mean-" Lizzie started but got cut off.

"I'm gonna show him I'm a witch." Josie cut her off with a happy smile.

Lizzie sighed of relief, causing you to chuckled lowly. "Oh, thank god. I mean, don't get me wrong, that is a terrible idea, but for a second I thought-" Lizzie didn't get to finish her sentence.

"Then I'm gonna have sex with him." Josie explained.

Lizzie looked away from Josie's eye sight. "Yeah. That was it." You shut you locker and grabbed Lizzie's left shoulder.

"You promised you wouldn't let me down. Actually do it for a change." Josie then walked off, causing Lizzie to look at you and you just shrugged.

You then walked backwards and started going to your next class. Chemistry. Luckily most of your friends were in that class so it was fun.
