RECAP

Landon looked at Hope and you. "Great. So we just have to find a way to electrocute every student in the school without killing them." Landon said in a super happy tone, he was being sarcastic.

"If we don't, they're dead anyway." Dorian pulled out his phone. "I'm gonna call Ric." Dorian said before exiting the hall.

We all turn around to see Rafael walking out. "My name is Rafael, and my talent is spoken word poetry." Rafael then took a seat on the stage.

You and Landon both groaned as you heard that. "Oh, no. He promised he wouldn't do this again." Landon said, you nodding in agreement.

————

Snapping all around the room was heard until he raised his hand for them to stop. "Stillness." Rafael started, the cello behind him started playing one note. "A light breaks inside." Then two notes. "Unity." One note. "And division." And another. "Tension." Rafael looked around.

"Suddenly, I remember why I didn't want to be in the talent show." Hope stated to you. You nodded in agreement.

"All these wolves staring at me, waiting for the answer. Expectation is a cancer. Oh, you can't, sir? Then who will?" The bass was strumming after Rafael said that. Rafael then looked up to see you three just watching, he put his hand out for the strummer to stop. "Two brothers and one sister brought up together. Then one's left behind because he's no longer needed. Violence inside of me. Inside, I'm, I'm bleeding." Rafael started.

You looked at Rafael, confused. "What's he talking about?" Hope questioned but neither of you answered but instead just looked at her before looking back at Raf.

"And I can't believe what I'm feeling, since the moment you danced with me." Rafael said, looking at Hope. "Buried so deep, rising up, enchanting me." Rafael slowly got out of his seat. "And it won't go away. And I was never jealous of anything that you had until today." He shut his eyes closed as if he was in pain. "And why is that artifact here? Monsters coming, people running. Ask for answers, always nothing." Some of the students started getting out of their seats. You and Hope looked at each other before back to Raf. "I say we get rid of it." Rafael whispered, pointing up at as as his eyes turned greened.

All the students in the hall then turned to you. They then all started moving out of their seats and started coming for you. "So they're all infected?" You questioned but it was more of a statement.

You all started moving backwards. "Yeah, I'm not gonna wait around to find out." You all turned around and ran out the doors.

You and Landon were out first while Hope was behind you two. "Vessera Portus." Hope chanted, raising her hands that made the doors slam shut and lock. You were all pushed up against the wall, scared. "That should hold the pod of people in for now. Let's go." Hope quickly said, grabbing your hand and dragging you away with Landon trailing behind.

"I hate monsters so much." You stated as you left the hoard of people behind the door.

Hope and Landon nodded in agreement as you all walked away. We finally found Dorian as you walked down the hallway, neither you or Hope made a move to pull your hands away from each other's grasp. "I sealed the doors with a spell, but it won't hold forever." Hope explained to Mr.Williams.

Dorian then grabbed the chains on his shoulder. "All right. These chains should help until we come up with a better solution." Dorian stated, handing Hope the chains, causing your hands to break part. "I'll get the doors downstairs." Dorian then walked off.

Hope, you and Landon all looked at each other. "At least we have all the infected people in one place." You tried being positive.

"What are you three doing out here?" The familiar voice of Lizzie spoke through the hallway, you all looked at her while she just looked at you all like nothing was wrong. Hope then did a spell that forced the chains to rap around Lizzie so she couldn't go anyway. She then grabbed Lizzie and forced her onto a chair near by you. "Have you three gone crazy?" Lizzie asked, annoyed.

You all looked at Lizzie. "You've been infected with a mind-controlling parasite." Hope bluntly said. "That's why you've been so nice all day." Hope explained.

Landon then turned on the flashlight. "That is not why I have been-" Landon moved forward and started checking Lizzie for slug trails. "Hey!" Lizzie glared at Landon. You stared at Landon a little grossed out but it was funny to watch.

Landon shook his head. "I don't see any slug trails." Landon turned back to you guys.

"What are you freaks talking a-" Lizzie then moved her whole body as she winced in pain. "Ow!" She exclaimed.

Landon looked over Lizzie. "What was that?" Landon asked.

Lizzie breathed in and out. "Unchain me, and maybe I will tell you, you thrift store hobbit." Lizzie glared at Landon, she then gasped in pain again.

Landon put the flashlight away. "Yeah, I don't think she's infected." You looked over at Hope.

"Then why are you acting so weird?" Hope questioned, arms crossed.

Lizzie stared at Hope. "I'm not acting weird, I am turning over a new leaf." Lizzie looked down at a silver bracelet on her wrist. "With this... I spelled it to zap me whenever I said anything mean. And in increasing voltage. Worst. Idea. Ever." Lizzie exclaimed.

Landon looked happy but shocked at the same time. "No. That's genius." You all look at Landon. "That's why there's no slug in her. She's been zapping herself." Landon explained.

Hope shook her head. "Then why are you wandering around here, instead of at the talent show like everyone else?" Hope stared down Lizzie.

Lizzie looked over to Hope. "I was looking for Josie. She's been acting weird all day and then she just bailed on the performance." Lizzie then realised, making an 'oh' face. You all looked at each other when Lizzie said that. "Probably because she's infected."

"We need to find her, now." You urgently said.

After searching quickly for Josie, you and Hope found Josie at the Old Mill with Penelope. Landon had gone to help the adults. Josie turned around and they both started walking towards something, probably the urn. "Not so fast, Thelma and Louise." Hope commented as you and her walked into the worn down building.

They both turned around, Penelope went to do a spell but you were faster. "Icaeus." You chanted, causing Penelope to scream and crash into the cupboard upstairs, a bunch of canes falling on her and she was unconscious. "Found the canes." You sassily said.

Penelope glared at you and Hope. "You shouldn't have done that." Josie put her hands close together, causing a red ball that looked like the sun, only very small, to appear.

She held it up in her left hand but just then Lizzie came in. "Jo!" She called, grabbing her wrist and siphoning the magic out of Josie and into her, that's when she placed the wrist band on her. Josie turned around, looking at Lizzie with an angry face. "Don't. This isn't you." Lizzie said.

Josie went to turn back to you two but Lizzie stopped her. "Then answer one question while you're saying how you really feel." Josie stopped and started listening. "Am I a good sister?" She questioned.

Josie stared at her with a 'are you serious' face. "Are you kidding me? You're a terrible sister." Josie spat out. Lizzie looked Josie up and down, but just then we heard electricity crackling and that's when Josie screams. She grabbed her wrist in pain but once it was over she stopped. Hope moved forward and stepped on it, squishing it to death. "Lizzie..." Josie trailed off, holding her ear. "Lizzie, I'm so sorry." Lizzie pulled Josie in for a hug while they both cried.

Lizzie looked up at us and sent us a smile while you just smiled back.

————

You now were with Landon, trying to catch up to Rafael. "Hey. Wait up, Raf." You said and Raf turned around. "Um, we got some things we need to talk about?" You questioned but it sounded like a statement.

Rafael sighed. "Dude, you two know I had that thing in me making me act crazy." Rafael explained, looking between you and Landon. "I don't even know what I said." You all chuckled.

Just then the musical chime went off for the P.A system. "Attention, students. Given the incredibly odd and distressing day we've all had, I'm thinking we could all use a little pick-me-up, like a, a talent show redo." Alaric spoke through the speaker. All the students around cheered and applauded when they heard it.

"Uh, so, we're good?" Landon motioned to all of us. "Like, for real?" Landon questioned.

Rafael nodded. "Yeah." He trailed out the 'yeah' before chuckling. "Always. I'm happy for you." He said that last part to you.

"Thank you. Thanks, man. Thank you." Rafael hugged you and did a handshake where you bring the other person in. "I'll see you." You responded.

"All right." Rafael said, you all went your different ways afterwards beside you and Landon.

You and Landon walked to the talent show and saw that Josie was about to go on. You walked inside and quickly made your way to Hope. "Hey." You said, taking a seat next to her.

"Hi." She replied back with a smile, just then the witches went on. Landon sat on the left of Hope while you sat on the right.

Josie then walked into the spotlight and started singing. "Standing in the shadows. I thought that I earned it..." Josie started, sounding nervous. Students around us were murmuring. "Feeling invisible. Believing I deserved it. I can't remember what I was waiting for so no more." Everyone started cheering and applauding. "I'm climbing over walls that I've made. I'm finding my place."

Josie started getting a lot more confident. "On the stage I'm gonna be leaving, All those doubts behind. I'm step, I'm stepping into the light. I'm gonna be spreading My wings. Following a path they can't see. Chasing an adventure. That's all mine. I'm step, I'm stepping into the light. I'm shedding the skin that I'm in never hiding who I am ever again. That girl you knew she's ready to ignite. I'm step, I'm stepping into the light." Josie finished singing and all the students were standing up and applauding her.

You had just finished having a shower and had gotten into some comfy clothes in the shower room. When you walked through the door Hope was brushing her hair and when she saw you, her face grew into a big happy face. "Hi." She said, turning around. "So it took three showers, but I think I'm finally clean." You looked shocked.

"Three of 'em? Wow." You said.

Hope nodded, checking her hair. "Three. Mm-hmm." She said.

You walked towards her. "Mm, I had more." She looked you up and down, surprised. "I had about five." She looked in your eyes with a questioning face and she did go to question it. "Before you go to question me, the slug goo had gotten in my hair and it wouldn't come out." You said, putting your hands in your jumper.

"Okay but five? Little excessive if you ask me." Hope stated.

You nodded. "Yeah, well my question is: why do you think Landon wasn't infected?" You questioned. "I mean, it got pretty much everybody, except Lizzie, and she had the bracelet." You explained, Hope just watched as you talked. "Unless something's happening to him." You stared right into her eyes, you didn't want Landon to be in pain or something.

Hope's face softened. "I don't- I don't know." Hope responded honestly.

You licked your lips. "Oh, come on. Professional monster hunter Hope Mikaelson doesn't even have a theory?" You joked, a little smile on your face.

"I guess I'll add it to the list of unexplainable things about Landon." Hope chuckled, both of you walked forward, grabbing each other's hands. Hope bit her lip looking down before up into your eyes. "I was being ridiculous all day." Hope looked back  and forth between your eyes.

Both of you laughed. "So was I." You added.

Hope chuckled. "But I was happy." Hope continued. "The things I said, how I acted..." Hope brought you closer so now your faces were closer together. "Maybe it could be that way all the time." Hope looked at your lips before up at your eyes. "Maybe the only thing that's keeping me from being happy is me." Hope stated.

"You know, if life was about being happy all the time, neither of us would've survived this long." You said, there was a moment of silence. "Which would be a real shame..." You moved away from Hope, walking to the door and grabbing your guitar. "because then you would never hear how bad I am at singing." You brought the guitar in, turning around. "Oh boy." You mumbled. "Since you asked about my songs, I figured I'd do one just for you." You continued.

You placed the guitar strap over your head, Hope laughed as you did but that sounded like an excited laugh. Both of you sat down on two chairs. You breathed in and out before playing the cords. "About those eyes. The way they spark when she's about to pick a fight." You paused, just playing your cords. "When we disagree and she knows that she's right." You looked up at her. "About that smile, she tries to hide 'cause that's what they expect her to." You looked back and forth between Hopes eyes, she looked as if she was about to cry.

"When no one's watching, it lights up the room. About the time you think you've locked your heart up safely someone breaks right through." You looked back down at your finger placement. "And all of her, fascinating contradictions are beautiful to you." You took a few breathes in. "I'm falling for a girl, and I can't wait to tell you all about her. About last night, I saw a vision of the future, in my dream. And I can't wait to meet who you will be so I can know everything about her." You finished and you smiled as you saw Hope was crying.

Her eyes were a bit red and you could see tear marks down her face. You both looked at each other before she cupped your face and kissing you. You kissed back, both of you smiling against it.
