Dragons Blood Part 3

Blood of the Dragon[on Hold]

Driftmark

Rhaegons chambers

"Are you hurt, Papa?" Baela asked.

"No." Rhaegon assured his daughter. Maester Gerardys was stitching Rhaegons forearm where Alicent cut him. "What of you three? How did this fight really start?"

Baela looked at Corwyn and Rhaena. "We woke up to see Vhagar taking flight and told Jace and Luke. We found out that it was Aemond, and it angered us."

Rhaegon sighed. He knew that Vhagar was the last reminder of their mother. "I'm sorry, my children, but Vhagar would never have chosen Aemond if she didn't want to."

"She was Mother's dragon!" Corwyn yelled.

"I know, my son, but I cannot undo what has been done." Rhaegon sadly said. Rhaenyra then entered the room. "How are Jace and Luke?"

"Better. Luke's nose will heal." Rhaenyra said.

Rhaegon looked at his children. "Go find Jace and Luke. I'll be with you all shortly." The children left the room.

"Are you ready to tell me what's wrong with you?" Rhaenyra asked.

"What do you mean?" Rhaegon inquired.

"You knocked Daemon out and were ready to kill Otto. I've always loved your recklessness, but this is different." Rhaenyra pointed out. "Did you love Laena?" She asked, knowing that she might regret it.

"I did, but not the same way I love you." Rhaegon said. "I don't know. She gave me children, and she accepted you. It was as if it was all a dream. She was good and she died because they were trying to kill me."

"I am sorry, Rhaegon." Rhaenyra was pleased that Rhaegon still loved her but also felt sorry for him. "If it's any comfort, she was happy with us."

"Ottos' son went above him. Or above his orders." Rhaegon said.

"How do you know?" Rhaenyra asked.

"It was as if Otto begged me not to kill his son. He truly seemed scared." Rhaegon said.

"Perhaps you should tell Father." Rhaenyra suggested. "You should also apologize to Daemon."

"You're right. I was... unhinged." Rhaegon said.

Rhaenyra looked at her lover. She wanted so badly to tell him the secret that she and Laena had kept from him, but she didn't want to dishonor Laenas wish for Rhaegon to find out for himself.

"Laena told me something once. She said that you're a slow fool." Rhaenyra chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Rhaegon curiously asked.

"We always mocked how you never saw your that children had the same eyes as you." Rhaenyra said. "Laena once told me that her mother said you had a deformity, but she denied it and said it was perfection." The realms delight stared into her lovers eyes. "Our children aren't safe as long as we're apart. Laenor devoted himself to protecting them, but I fear it won't be enough."

Rhaegon placed his hand on Rhaenyras. "We will protect them. No matter the cost."

"I love you, Rhaegon." Rhaenyra said.

"I love you, Rhaenyra." Rhaenyra reciprocated.

Viserys' chambers

Rhaegon entered his father's chambers and found Otto there as well.

"My son. I was going to send for you. Ser Otto has raised a matter that I wish you to discuss with you." Viserys said.

"Of course, father." Rhaegon sat on a chair.

"He has told me that you blame his son, Gwayne, for the loss of your wife, the Lady Laena. He also said that you threatened him." Viserys said, and Otto smirked at Rhaegon. "I only wish to know your side, my boy."

Rhaegon looked at Otto and then at his father. "I did blame Gwayne. I suppose a part of me was still angry at you for marrying Queen Alicent so quickly after mothers death. Having lost my own wife, it grew my anger, but I am calm now." The crown prince looked at Otto. "I didn't have to threaten you and blame your son, Lord Hand. I do a lot of things that I don't have to do."

Viserys chuckled. "Now that this mess is concluded, have you thought of my offer to stay in King's Landing?" The king asked. Otto was still shocked that Rhaegon would confess without telling the king everything.

"I have, and I accept your offer, father, but I wish to go to Dragonstone first." Rhaegon said.

"Take your time mourning, my son. I await your return to the capital." Viserys smiled at his son.

Daemon and Cerelles chambers

"I'm surprised you allowed him to harm you. You're never caught off guard." Cerelle said as she was cleaning Daemons wound.

"It won't happen again." Daemon spat.

"I'm almost done." Cerelle said.

"You're good at this." Daemon complimented his wife.

"Be careful, Daemon. One might think that you're starting to care for your wife." Cerelle smirked.

Daemon scoffed. "Where are the children?"

"I left them with Jacaerys, Visenya, and Lucerys." Cerelle said.

Just then, Rhaegon entered the room. Uncle. "We should go for a drink."

"You struck me." Daemon said.

"You angered me to strike at you." Rhaegon pointed out.

"You struck me to the point where I was barely waking up!" Daemon yelled.

"Uncle. No hard feelings, I was mourning my wife, and everyone was telling me what to do." Rhaegon said.

"And now everyone knows you're just a cunt." Daemon said. "Your wife died, and I'm sure it hurts, but we both know the person that you share a true connection with is still alive. What you did was out of line. Leave my chambers." Rhaegon looked at his angered uncle and left the room.

"That was a little harsh." Cerelle said.

"He needed to hear it." Daemon said.

Aemonds chambers

"Aemond?" Rhaegon called out to his brother.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take lady Laenas dragon. I... I just wanted a dragon to make you proud of me." Aemond said.

Rhaegon sighed and walked to Aemond. "I must confess that it saddens me that Vhagar was claimed so quickly after Laenas death, but I'm glad that you were the one to claim her."

"You're not angry?" Aemond asked.

"No. If anything I cannot wait to fly with you, little brother. To teach you more about dragons as I've learned." Rhaegon said. "I'm sorry about your eye, but don't ever see this as a disadvantage. People will underestimate you and that will be your greatest strength."

"Thank you, Rhaegon. I'm sorry my mother cut you." Aemond said.

"It's nothing. She was defending you." Rhaegon said. Just then, queen Alicent entered her sons room.

"My prince." Alicent greeted.

"Your grace." Rhaegon bowed his head. "I was just checking on Aemond. I told him that we could fly together some time."

"That would be lovely." Alicent smiled and looked at Rhaegons forearm. "My prince I wish to apol-" The queen was cut off by Rhaegon.

"I should see to my children." Rhaegon then left the room.

"I wish he was my father." Aemond said.

"My boy." Alicent hugged her son. "Your father loves you. Never forget that."

Rhaegon walked down the halls of Driftmark and saw Moribund looking at him.

"If you're then someone is about to die." Rhaegon said.

"Very perceptive of you, boy. I take it you're no longer interested in your destiny?" Moribund asked.

"No. That started to bore me." Suddenly Rhaegon stabbed Moribund in his chest and the being groaned.

"I take it that's for your wife?" Moribund groaned.

"You could've warned me!" Rhaegon twisted the dagger and Moribunds black blood dripped on to the floor. "You can bleed and hurt. That's good."

Moribund started laughing. "Did you really think I could die?" He tapped Rhaegon on his head and the crown prince was sent back. Moribund pulled the blade out and it was clean. Rhaegon looked in their floor and there was no blood. "I can only appear when someone dies, its true. You can also see me whenever I wish, but I can make you see whatever I want. I must confess, I thought you would've tried this a lot sooner."

"You could've warned me about Laena." Rhaegon said.

"Perhaps I could've, but I didn't want to." Moribund said.

"Why?" Rhaegon asked.

"Because she played her part. She gave you a legitimate heir." Moribund said.

"She was more than a tool for breeding!" Rhaegon yelled.

"Agreed, but you still kept her close to you." Moribund pointed out. "Because you cared for her. Because seeing her harmed would hurt you. You didn't love her like Rhaenyra, it's true, but she had a place in your heart."

"Why did I see Harwins death as it was happening and not Laenas?" Rhaegon asked.

"Harwins death was a mere indicator of a coming war. You dream only when war looms." Moribund said. Laena was always meant to die.

"What war?" Rhaegon asked.

"A war between families. The Greens and the Blacks." Moribund said. "Do you remember when you saw Rhaenyra die in my realm? Rhaegon nodded. Well that is what will happen if you don't stop it."

"How can I stop it?" Rhaegon asked.

"Rhaegon?" Rhaenyra called out. "Who are you talking to?" She asked.

"No one." Rhaegon said when Moribund disappeared. He then turned to face his sister. "I was thinking that you and I should marry, but not now. I wish to go to Dragonstone and talk to Baela, Rhaena and Corwyn."

"Rhaegon. We cannot marry while Laenor still lives." Rhaenyra pointed out.

"I know. Which is why I wish to speak to Laenor as well." Rhaegon said. "I wish to set him free."

"How will you do that?" Rhaenyra asked.

"I'll have to talk to Daemon again." Rhaegon said.

Daemons and Cerelles chambers

"Where will we go this time?" Cerelle asked.

"I was thinking Pentos." Daemon answered.

"You seemed more content on Dragonstone. As did our children." Cerelle said. A part of her started to develop feelings for Daemon. She only hoped he would someday feel the same.

Daemon was about to say something, but Rhaegon entered their chambers.

"We need to talk." Rhaegon told his uncle.

"I'll see to our children." Cerelle unexpectedly kissed Daemon on his cheek and left the room.

"What do you want?" Daemon asked.

"If Laenor can move past me forcing him to stay in King's Landing to be Rhaenyras husband, can't you move past me almost killing you?" Rhaegon inquired.

"I shouldn't have to move past it. I'm your uncle. The only ally you have left. You shouldn't have done what you did." Daemon said.

"Well. I do things that I don't have to do." Rhaegon said.

"You expect me to believe that same cunt of an apology you gave to Otto Hightower?" Daemon asked. "Your father and I had good laugh when he told me about it."

Rhaegon smirked. "I didn't mean it when I told Otto."

Daemon sighed. "You're lucky I care about you and Rhaenyra."

Rhaegon smirked. "I need you, uncle. I need your help to avoid a war that will leave thousands dead."

"What do you need from me?" Daemon asked without hesitation and Rhaegon smirked.

Outside

Rhaegon saw his brothers and sister ready to leave for King's Landing. He wanted to check on Aemond.

"Brother." Aemond greeted, but he looked away from Rhaegon.

"Aemond look at me." Rhaegon said. "This wasn't your fault. You claimed an unclaimed dragon."

"I'm sorry for calling Jace and Luke bastards." Aemond said.

"I know." Rhaegon said. "I need you to understand that they are your nephews and will need you to help them when I'm not around."

"I understand." Aemond said and Vhagar growled.

Rhaegon walked closer to Vhagar and touched her snout.

"Don't be a stranger. Carry them with you with every flight." Rhaegon told Vhagar. He still missed his grandfather Baelon the Brave and his wife Laena.

"Will you come to King's Landing?" Aemond asked.

Rhaegon smiled at Aemond. "Of course I will. Remember what I always tell you."

Aemond smiled. "We don't control dragons. We are a dragons kin.:

Rhaegon proudly smiled at his brother. "Write to me when you arrive home."

Aemond nodded and climbed on Vhagar. Seconds later Vhagar flew off with her new rider.

Chamber of the painted table

"My children." Rhaegon called his son and daughters. "I have something important to ask of you."

"What's wrong father?" Corwyn asked.

"As you all know. I loved your mother." Rhaegon smiled. "How could I not? She gave me you three. When she died, I was angry because she could've had a better life."

"What do you mean?" Baela asked.

"Sometimes... things happen. You feel somethings that you can't control... or deny." Rhaegon said. "I... I made a choice a long time ago, and I dint regret it, but I won't forgive myself if I do not speak to you three about it."

"It's about Rhaenyra, isn't it, father?" Rhaena asked.

Rhaegon sighed. "Yes Jace, Luke and Joffery-" Baela cut her father off.

"Are our brothers?" She asked.

Rhaegon raised his eyebrows. "H... how did you know?"

"Corwyn and I saw you kiss Rhaenyra in your rooms once." Baela said. "I told Rhaena after. We asked mother about it and she explained to us that you loved her and mother. Also Jace and Luke didn't look like our late uncle Laenor."

"I'm sorry you saw that. Are you angry with me?" Rhaegon asked.

Baela, Rhaena and Corwyn rushed to their father and hugged him. "We could never be angry at you, father. You gave us three more brothers."

Rhaegon smiled and they broke the hug. "I'm glad. There's something else I want to ask you. I want to marry Rhaenyra. Her husband has passed, and I'm sure she's sad about it, but we never stopped loving each other. How do you feel about it?"

"Will Jace and Luke live with us?" Corwyn asked.

"Of course." Rhaegon smiled.

"Then yes!" The siblings yelled at the same time.

King's Landing

Royal chambers

Rhaegon traveled to King's Landing with his children. He wanted to tell his father that he wishes to marry Rhaenyra and this time no one will stop him.

"Father, did you hear what I said?" Rhaegon asked.

"I did. I wish to tell you that I'm proud of you, son... and I'm sorry for making you feel like I wasn't." Viserys said. "Be happy, my son."

"Thank you father." Rhaegon said. "I also wish to invite you to the wedding. I want to marry her on Dragonstone in our tradition."

"Thank you, son." Viserys wheezed.

Dragonstone

A month later

The royal family along with Daemon and his family watched as Rhaegon Targaryen married his sister, Rhaenyra in Targaryen customs. Alicent held back her tears and watched as the man she loved was gone forever and it was all her fault.

Daemon looked at Rhaegons children and then looked at Alicents youngest sons his eyes widened as he realized something.

"No fucking way." Daemon whispered and his wife, Cerelle heard him. She then saw what he was looking at.

"So you finally realized it. Took you long enough, husband." Cerelle smirked.

Everyone present applauded at the newly married couple. Both Rhaegon and Rhaenyra smiled at passionately kissed each other. They were finay together and nothing could stop them.
