Chapter 3: Nightmares and Kisses

PYRESS POV

Today is the parents’ orientation for the fieldtrip later afternoon. I

wasn't able to sleep properly last night because the nightmare keeps

coming back. I ended awake the whole evening and right now I am

feeling exhausted.

“Miho can you get me some soda please?” I asked my best friend

whose sitting beside me.

I leaned on the cafeteria’s table and buried my face on my folded arms.

I wanted to nap even for 30 minutes.

“Alright.” I heard her.

After few second, my eyes were blinking slowly, making me fall into

another sleep.

I held on the tree, I looked anxiously from my surrounding and grabbed

a little branch from the ground.

I heard that familiar growl again, so I stopped breathing and cried

silently.

“Pryress!” I heard Miho whispered a bit loud to me plus the tap on my

shoulder, I immediately opened my eyes.

I am not liking it at all. I do not like this very much. I am feeling restless.

My eyes watered and Miho grabbed me for a hug.

“What's happening to you?” she asked me.

I shook my head because I have no idea. It just keeps on coming back.

The dream, how is that even possible?

“I just had the same nightmare. I find it weird.” I said and wiped my

tears.

“What's in it?”

I gulped and looked at her. “I can’t remember, but all I know that its

extremely realistic and terrifying.”

“Don't worry, its just a dream.” Miho tried to console me.

I just nodded because she has a point.

After talking with Miho, I found myself sitting on the school bench and

checking my phone. Vigor didn't text or call me back and I am so

worried.

I almost gave up when my phone suddenly beeped. I checked it

immediately and I smiled eventually after seeing his name written on

my phone screen.

“L-love!” I can't even hide the excitement on my face and voice as I

answered the call.

I don't care if that's just obvious, I just want to be with him. I miss him.

“Where were you? I'm so worried about you,” I asked again even

though he didn't even say anything for few seconds.

I heard a sigh from the other side, “Sorry, I was visiting Leo.” He said,

almost a whisper.

I remembered Leo Vista, he is a Veterinarian Doctor and was in an

isolated place in Saint Lawrence. Well, maybe there's no signal there

that he didn’t contacted me.

“Oh, it's okay. I was only worried. I miss you.” I whispered.

There's a bridge of silence in between us. There's a slight pain that

crossed on my chest, maybe because this never happened before?

“Baby? Are you fine?” I asked again.

He took a sigh, “Yes, I will pick you up in lunch time.” He said.

I nodded although he couldn't even see. I have to go home early

though since the field trip is later afternoon. We will stay in a place for a

night and a day. We will come home tomorrow at 4 as well.

Everything will be just fast.

“Okay I will wait for you.” I said and checked my wristwatch to see the

time.

It's already 11:30, and perhaps he will be here in 20 minutes.

I didn't go to parking lot because Mom and I went here together, and I

told her that I would be riding with Miho later. But now that Vigor is

here, then it is fine.

After he dropped the call, I texted Miho that I'll be going.

I was walking to the main gate when I bumped on someone. It's painful

to the fact that I dropped my ass on the ground.

“Ahh!” I moaned in pain.

Since 1 was on the floor, I looked up to see who was the person that I

encountered with.

“Sorry,” The man whispered and offered his hands to me.

I bit my lower lip and raised my hands to reach his.

In one swift I was standing but awfully close to him that my chest is

almost pressed on his.

I stepped back immediately because it is awkward. “Sorry, I have to go.”

I said, cannot even smile for a bit.

He smiled to me, and I can't help but notice how his eyes sparkled. It's

crystal white. What is that?

I smiled a little in courtesy and turn my back on him. It was the first

time that I saw him. But of course, its natural since the university is

huge, and the chances of meeting everyone is rare, plus the fact that I

am not always present here in the main gate.

I didn't waited for Vigor long enough when he arrived, when I went

inside his car he frowned and looked at me attentively.

“Hi,” I said.

He removed his seatbelt and leaned closer, it's a little bit weird when he

sniffed my neck, my hair and my uniform.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

Then he stopped and our eyes met. “Who did you hug?” He asked

immediately.

My eyebrows furrowed from his question. What's with his sense of

smell?

“I bumped on someone.” I said honestly.

He didn't seem to believe me that he is looking at me straightly, its like

he is waiting for any reaction from me that would prove that I am lying.

“Stay away from that person.” He said seriously.

From the distance between us, I can see clearly how good looking my

boyfriend is. His slightly disheveled hair, his eyes, his lips and nose.

They are perfect.

“We just bumped. He's a stranger.” I whispered.

He didn’t even move a bit, but after some few seconds he was leaning

and giving me a deep kiss.

I missed him.

“Stay away from them.” He whispered again.

I couldn't even mind from those things he’s whispering because I was

too preoccupied with his kisses. It's damn good.

I held on his shirt as he deepens the kiss, but I can sense anger from

those lips. But he couldn't hide the fact that he's trying to be gentle.

Pyress had no idea how angry and scared Vigor inside his head. He

doesn't like the idea of other monsters trying to get in his way.

While kissing Pyress, Vigor is also busy thinking of what happens after

darkness officially subdues the dusk.
