The Sister of My Childhood Friend Who Has a Boyfriend Has Been Involved With Me a Lot Lately
âIâm so tired!â
âWeâve been at it for about an hour. Letâs take a break.â
âI agree! Iâm going to get some snacks!â
Before I could finish, she stood up briskly and left the room.
Looking at the clock provided in the room, it was already five oâclock.
I wonder if I can get dinner after eating sweets nowâ¦
There was no point in thinking about it, because Ageha was gone before I could even mention such concerns.
I crossed my arms and stretched lightly.
It was hard for me to concentrate right after I started studying, but once I got into it, I was able to concentrate quite well.
However, when I take my eyes off the textbook like this, my attention is diverted to various other things.
When I passed by Karen earlier, I noticed how she was looking at me.
It was obvious that she was avoiding me.
âAs expected, I still careâ¦â
As much as I am aware that I was at fault, I donât know how to treat her.
In the first place, Karen seems to be a sick person, so it is hard to talk to her.
As I was letting out a small sigh, I saw Ageha come back.
âWait~!â
âYou brought a lot. Can you eat dinner?â
âYeah, it seems like mom is coming home late today!â
She sits down next to me, spreading the pile of sweets on the tray on the table.
In a good mood, she opens the bag and takes out a packet of individually wrapped sweets and hands it to me.
âHereâ
âThanks.â
I peel off the wrapping and throw it into my mouth.
The layers of dough make a crunchy sound.
It is so delicious.
I said that to Ageha, but I canât stop eating sweets for the first time in a while.
When I reached out to eat another one, Ageha stared at me with a smile.
âHere!â
âAh, thanksâ¦â
I feel like I lost. No, I didnât win anything in the first place.
My head feels refreshed because I took sugar.
Just as we were about to finish our break, Ageha suddenly asked.
âWhatâs going on with you and your onee-chan?â
âWhat? What? Suddenly?â
âWhen I saw you at the door earlier, you were acting a little strange.â
âOh, did I seem strange?â
âYeah. It felt a little distant.â
Itâs sharp.
After thinking about how to answer, I decided to be honest.
âI had a bit of a fight with Karen⦠I donât know if itâs an exaggeration to call it a fight, butâ¦â
âItâs rare. Haru-kun sometimes fights.â
âWell, there is. Well, it was my fault this time.â
When I said that with a shrug, Ageha whispered âHmmâ and stuffed her mouth with sweets.
Looking up at the ceiling and thinking about something, Ageha said with a blank expression.
âI donât know what you did, but itâs probably okay.â
âItâs okay? You canât just⦠say itâs okay.â
âItâs a girlfriendâs duty to take her boyfriendâs side.â
âI wonder if youâll stand by me even if I do something wrong.â
âThatâs a different story. Iâll probably get angry if Haru does something bad.â
Whatâs the difference?
Even though I said I did something wrong this time.
âIf Haru-kun did something bad to onee-chan and got into a fight, she wouldnât be like that.â
When I raised my eyebrows, Ageha said to complement me.
That supplement makes me even more confused.
âLike that?â
âShe would never avoid you, Haru-kun. In fact, I think sheâd talk to you like crazy.â
âIsnât that a contradiction in terms?â
âWell, do you think so?â
With a curious tilt of her head to the side, I nodded my head and said, âYes, thatâs right.â
It is natural to avoid someone who has done something you donât like, and the opposite is unnatural.
However, when she says it, it seems to me that she is right.
The fact that they were sisters made it more convincing.
âBy the way, what would you do if I did something you didnât like?â
âWell, Haru-kun, you wouldnât do that.â
âFor exampleâ¦â
âHmm, after getting really angry, Iâll stick around until you apologize.â
ââ¦I see.â
Somehow, I think I can imagine it.
I can imagine the scene of her getting angry with tears in her eyes and then sticking close to me with a sulky look on her face.
âI like Haru-kun, so I donât want to leave him even if he does something bad to me.â
ââ¦Iâm honored.â
I wasnât expecting the story to go like this, so I was caught off guard.
When I was holding my hot face, Ageha asked me this time.
âWhat would you do, Haru-kun? What if I did something really, really bad?â
âI canât imagine itâ¦â
âI did my best to imagine it, so do your best too, Haru-kun.â
She puffed out her cheeks and glared at me.
I donât want to borrow Agehaâs words, but I donât want to leave Ageha just because she did something bad to me.
âIâll be confused about what happened all of a sudden.â
âAnd then what?â
âFor the time being, maybe we should go eat something sweet together.â
When I said it out, Ageha stiffened with wide eyes.
Then she let out a pleasant laugh, âAhaha.â
âWhat?â
âI just thought it was typical of you, Haru-kun. I just thought it would be nice if I could do something bad for you and get you to eat something sweet.â
â⦠Invite me normally like that.â
âThen Iâll invite you! Letâs go out to eat after the test is over.â
âIâll look for a restaurant.â
âYay! You promised!â I couldnât help but smile as she exclaimed in delight.
