8. MARRIAGE ??

Everyone settled down in the living room upon their arrival  from the airport .

" Sabhi thoda araam karlo dinner ke baad  mujhe kuch baat karni  hai ".(Everyone, take some rest. I want to talk to everyone after dinner)," Dada ji announced before heading to his room, giving Viaansh a tired smile.

Hesitantly, all the other family members retired to their respective rooms..

Viaansh was about to stand when Viraj and Aakriti intervened. "Kaha jaarahe ho bhai? Humari hone wali Bhabhi se baat karne?" (Where are you going, brother? To talk to our to-be sister-in-law?) Aakriti said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Kon Bhabhi, kiski Bhabhi? (Which sister-in-law? Whose sister-in-law?)" Viaansh responded sternly.

"Of course, apki hone wali wife ya fir girlfriend humari Bhabhi hi lagengi na," Aakriti said, giving me a sarcastic smile. (Your to-be wife or girlfriend will be our sister-in-law, right?)

"Koi Bhabhi nahi hai tumhari  (no one is your sister-in-law), and don't you dare assume someone to be my wife or girlfriend, you get that?" he retorted.

" app thake nahi ho kya , jao rest karlo kyunki dinner ke baad apki class lagne wali hai "(Aren't you tired? Go and rest because, after dinner, you'll hear it.) They declared in unison and left after giggling.

Knowing it would be a long day, he went to his room.

During Dinner

Viaansh's Chachi inquired of her sister-in-law while serving food in dish bowls, "Apko kya lagta hai kya ho sakta hai? (What do you think the talk is about?)"

" Jo bhi ho (whatever it may be) but I want the best for my Viaansh. The love lacking in his life, that emptiness surrounding his life, I just want it to go," she expressed, teary-eyed.

" And if he likes Shreya then no one could be happier  than me, they would be a perfect couple " she added, lost in her thoughts.

In the living room

Hearing someone clearing their throat, all the members turned their heads towards the sound and found it to be their  grandfather.

" Viaansh, has something happened to you??" he inquired.

" nahi , dadaji apko aisa kyu lag raha hai??"(No, Dadaji. Why doyou think so?)"

" kuch to hua hai, jo ladka kisi ladki ko aankh utha kar bhi nahi dekhta ,  vo ek ladki ek pass jaata hai, uske saath dance karta hai, usko dekhkar smile karta hai..."

(Something must have happened. A guy who doesn't even look at girls goes up to a girl and dances with her, and smiles with her.)"

"And Dadaji, don't forget the blush," Viraj interjected, earning a glare from Viaansh.

"Haan, haan. Vahi to, chakkar kya hai?" he asked Viaansh. (Yes, exactly. What is going on?)

"Kuch bhi nahi. Kya mein dance nahi kar sakta kisi ke saath?" he said hesitatingly without looking at anyone's eyes. (Nothing at all. Can't I dance with someone?)

"Bilkul bhi.. nahi sar sakte. You are not that type of person. We all know that. Jo ladka family functions ko skip karke office jaana prefer karta hai, dance to duur ki baat hai," Viaansh's father said sarcastically.

(Yes... you can't. You are not that type of person. We all know that. A guy who prefers going to the office by skipping family functions, dancing is out of the question.)

"A-Aisa k-kuch bhi nahi hai, Dad," he said, stuttering. (Nothing of the sort.)

"Oh my God, THE Viaansh Rajvansh is stuttering. That means kuch to hai." (That means something is up.)

"See, Viaansh, if you like her, tell us. Otherwise, koi or aakar usse shaadi kar lega tab hume mat kehna," his mother teased. (Otherwise, she'll get married to someone else, don't say anything to us.)

"Aise kaise le jayega koi, mein aisa hone nahi dunga," Viaansh said immediately, standing from his seat. (How can someone else get married to her? I won't let that happen.)

All the family members looked at him and burst into laughter. Viaansh, realizing what just happened, turned red in shame.

"Mujhe pata hi tha (I knew it). Yes, Shreya Di.. Oh, sorry sorry, Shreya Bhabhi will be our Bhabhi. I am so happy!" Aakriti said, hugging her mother.

"I am very happy for you," Viaansh's father hugged him.

Viaansh, being new to these feelings, freezes in place but eventually reciprocates the hug.

"Toh kab leke aayenge hum hamari Bhabhi?" Viraj asked, rubbing his hands with a bright smile. (So, when will we get our Bhabhi home?)

"Abhi nahi. Abhi Kiara ki shaadi hui hai. (Not right now. Kiara just got married) Maybe we will take the proposal to her house after a few months. Unhe bhi thoda time chahiye hoga adjust karne ke liye (They will also need some time to adjust)," Dada ji said.

"Ji papa app sahi keh rahe hai," all the family members agreed upon his order. (Yes, Dad, you're right.)

"Par jo bhi ho, mujhse ab zyada intezaar nahi ho raha. Mujhe apni bahu ka swaagat karna hai jitna jaldi ho sake," Viaansh's mother said with dreamy eyes. (I can't wait for a long time. I want to welcome my daughter-in-law as soon as possible.)

"Par kehna padega humare Viaansh ki pasand hai to bohot achi or ho bhi kyu na humari hone wali bahu hai hi kohinoor," she added. (I have to say, Viaansh's choice is excellent. And why won't it be? Our soon-to-be daughter-in-law is a diamond.)

"Aree ek baar usse to puchlo usse shaadi krni bhi hai ya nahi... Hmm, Viaansh karni hai na shaadi Shreya se?" his father asked. (At least ask him once if he wants to get married. Viaansh, you do want to marry Shreya, right?)

"It doesn't only depend on me, Papa. Her consent is also mandatory. And I request you all to not assume anything before her approval. That's it," he said seriously.

"Okay, we understand, but tell us one thing. You like her, don't you?" his mother asked, knowing he won't ignore her question.

"J-j-ji maa," ( y-y..ess..yess mom) he said and ran to his  room.

The next morning in Delhi, Shreya got ready for her first day at the office.

She took blessings from God and her parents.

She took a taxi to reach her office as she didn't want people staring at her.

She met Vedika and Diya at the office, where they took the elevator to reach their floor.

"Yes, how may I assist you?" the receptionist inquired as they approached.

"We are interns," Vedika said.

"Yes, yes, please come this way!"

"Good morning, sir," they wished the manager of their department.

"Good morning, and welcome to our team! Let me introduce you to our team members."

During lunchtime, they went to have lunch in the common cafeteria, and when they sat down to eat.

Shreya said, "Sabhi mujhe ghoor ghoor ke kyu dekh rahe hai?" (Why is everyone staring at me?)

"Kyu nahi dekhenge tumne apna phone nahi khola," Vedika said. (Why won't they? Haven't you checked your phone?)

"Kya hua hai?" she said, getting worried. (What happened?)

When she opened her phone, she saw her and Viaansh's picture dancing with each other.

"Don't worry, my brother would take care of it," Shreya said.

"Vo to theek hai, lekin tumne dance kaise kar liya Viaansh ke saath?" Vedika said. (That's fine, but how come you danced with Viaansh?)

"Pairo ke saath," she said sarcastically. (Using my feet.)

"Hehe, so funny! Par bata to," she argued again. (But tell me.)

"Aise hi, vo puchne aye to meine han kardi. Aise unko mana karna acha nahi lag raha tha," Shreya said, looking down. (No reason, he asked, and I said yes. It would have felt bad to say no.)

"And please, guys, please stop teasing me by his name. Nothing is going on and will never be," she told them.

After reaching home, she found out that her family had left for their hometown. Her Bhai and Bhabhi asked her about her day, and they went to their rooms after having dinner.

She laid down on her bed, hugged her teddy, and mumbled, "I have started liking Mr. Rajvansh, but it will stay at liking only, and I'm happy with that. After all, he is my first crush." She blushed a little and smiled faintly.

Being a hopeless romantic she started dancing on ....

(not in a towel 😂😂🙈)
