Chapter 3

3. Sweet Revenge

Little Lies

I don't know what I was expecting when I walked through my front door, but if I did know, then this is exactly what I would've expected.

Make it make sense.

"Seriously?" I scoff as my eyes land on my ex and my roommate, making out on the couch. They're not even trying to hide the fact that they are sleeping together! Are they trying to flaunt it or something? Because the only thing it's successful at is pissing me the fuck off. "You guys are a different fucking breed."

Alex looks up at me with wide eyes, only just realising my presence. He instantly pushes Josie off of him and stands from the couch, looking very much awkward and embarrassed. It's like couch guy all over again - but make it ten times worse. "Phoebe's, I didn't know you'd be over tonight..." He scratches the back of his head, and gives me a sheepish look.

Fuck, he probably feels sorry for me because he thought I was going to spend the night with someone. But instead I'm walking into my dorm, not having caught any dick besides an extremely awkward encounter with my to be one night stands brother, only to find the two people who I hate most in the world right now in my space of tranquility. This will not do.

"Piss of with your Phoebe's bullshit," I seethe, "you know, normally people feel guilty after they cheat on someone, but you just seem to be embracing it fully."

"Move on Phoebe," Josie has the audacity to roll her eyes at me, "wouldn't you rather be finding someone else rather than pitying yourself?"

Josie used to be one of my close friends. We shared a dorm last year and made so many memories, so we thought, why not share again? Biggest fucking mistake of my life. Little did I know, that every time I brought my boyfriend over, she and him were having something behind my back. And I was too blind to see. Never will I make that mistake again.

"Fuck you!" I flick my middle finger up at her.

"I don't think that was called for," Alex says.

I turn to him. "Fuck you!"

He looks shocked that I swore at him, and I must say it's one of the most satisfying things I've ever seen in my life. "I'm moving out." I announce.

Did I think about that before I said it? No, no I didn't. But I said it anyway, and now I'm rolling with it.

"What?" Josie screeches. "You can't do that! Who's going to pay the other half of the rent?" Her face is stained a red - almost purple - colour. And her head looks like it might just explode. Ah, sweet revenge.

"Not my problem, you can deal with that shit yourself."

"You're not being fair on Josie," Alex looks at me with pleading eyes. "You're being kind of selfish."

He did not just say that.

"I cannot believe I actually dated you." I scoff before turning around and storming into my bedroom, slamming the door behind me.

***

By the morning, I've already packed my whole room up into various bags and suitcases. Luckily I don't own that much, otherwise I would've been screwed.

Slipping silently through my door, I make my way to the front door and open it. "Bitch, let's get you the fuck out of this shit hole." Rory pushes her way inside and grabs some of my bags, plonking them onto the trolley outside.

"Thank you so much for coming to help me this early," I say, "I know you were having the time of your life with those two guys."

"Girl, you know I would postpone the end of the world for you." She gives me a genuine smile before pulling me in for a hug. Her tight brown curls smush into my face, but I wouldn't have it any other way. This girl is worth more to me than any amount of money in the world. "And besides, those two guys..." She pulls away from me, a slight tinge of red coating her full, brown cheeks.

"Spit it out," I smile, eagerly.

"They kinda asked me out to dinner tonight..."

"OMG, what? Both of them? Girl, you are catching these guys like flies!" I squeal. "You need to tell me everything!"

"I will, I will, but lets get you the fuck out of here first."

Once all my stuff is carted out of this hellhole, I decide to leave a little parting present behind for my dearest roommate and her fuck buddy. Opening the fridge, I pull out the tomato sauce and begin to write 'fuck you' on the wall in big capitol letters, while also adding a few dicks in there too. I also pour pickle juice into the milk and give it a little shake before putting it pack in the fridge.

"Satisfied?" Rory questions with a smile on her face.

"Not quite, but it'll have to do." I shrug.

Rory and I make our way down the hall and get into the elevator, giving me flashbacks of last night. "So I didn't exactly think about how we were gonna take all my stuff to yours... please tell me you have a plan." I give Rory puppy dog eyes, hoping she's been smarter than me.

"Well, about that..." She breaks eye contact and looks down at the floor, "I may or may not have asked one of the guys to help with moving you."

"Oh, oh..." I wiggle my eyebrows. "So I get to meet one of these mystery dudes?"

"Yes, but just please don't be too... scary."

"Scary!" I feign offence. "I am not scary."

"I mean..."

"Okay, okay, maybe I can be a little scary. Alright, I promise I wont scare him away, don't even worry about it." I assure.

"Thank you." She breathes a sigh of relief. "Also just don't bring up the... the thing." She bites he lip as if that helps me to understand what she's talking about. "You'll know what I mean."

I nod my head slowly.

By the time we're outside and on the street, I'm already questioning my decision to move out so suddenly. I'm going to have to start looking for a place immediately, but my minimum wage job would hardly cover one bedroom, let alone a whole flat. Even the thought of staying a week at Rory's makes me feel physically ill. Of course I'll be paying her, but still...

"This is it." She states, stopping outside a massive red Jeep that looks like it could be brand new.

"I was worried, you were taking so long, lyubov." A large man steps out of the drivers seat with his eyes locked on Rory. His voice is thick, like honey and tinged with a Russian accent - which I guess explains the strange word he used. He stands at least a foot taller than Rory, and that's saying something because she's taller than me. He wears a black suit, looking like he just stepped out of the office and carries himself like a businessman.

I can see the appeal. Damn, and this is only one of the dudes Rory got with? I gotta admit, my girls got skills.

"Haha, yeah, there were just a few things we had to clear up before leaving." She says. "Anyway, this is my best friend, Phoebe."

The man turns in my direction, only just noticing me. And it's then that I see the massive scar running down the right side of his face and across his eye. Now I get what she meant earlier. I try not to look surprised, and put on a smile. "Hey, it's nice to meet you."

His gives me a once over before nodding his head in approval. Like I needed it anyway! I should be the one approving him. "Alexei." He grunts, nowhere near the say soft voice he spoke to Rory in just seconds ago.

Yeah, I'm going to need a little longer to work out my thoughts on this dude...

"You can pack your things in the back, but be quick, I've got a meeting to get to." He turns back to Rory and says something that I can't quite hear. I take that as my cue to leave, and begin to pack.

The drive to Rory's is quick. Once we arrive, Alexei helps me carry my stuff into the house before giving Rory a long kiss and hug, then leaving off to his meeting.

"He is um, interesting to say the least." I say as I begin to unpack my food.

"Yeah, if you can believe it, he's the talker out of the two."

We both burst out into a fit of giggles.

"So what's the deal between the two dudes? And they friends or..."

She looks at me like I'm an alien. "Of course they're friends! What else would they be?"

"Hey, I'm not here to judge how people enjoy themselves." I throw my hands up in self defence.

She looks at me with suspicion. "I'm just gonna forget what you just said. So, what happened last night with that guy?"

Oh lord, I don't even know where to start. With the fact that his brother kissed me? Or the fact that I lied I was Hollands girlfriend and have his number stashed in my phone?

"Okay so..." I tell her every single detail until we are seated in silence and her brain looks like it's working overtime.

"Did you say Leon ?"

Is that seriously all she took from this conversation?

"Yeah..."

"And you said he lived on the upper east side?"

"Uh huh..."

"Bro, I think that's Leon Camdon."

I freeze in place. I know that name. I've heard that name before.

Leon  Camdon...

New York's biggest business tycoon.

Oh fuck.
