17| office drama

When Monday came, everyone had the Monday blues. No one wanted to go back to work.

But what could one do?

Kane had decided to drive both Leah and Enya to the office, being the nice human.

Enya got dressed in a all black jumpsuit, adding the belt as a finishing touch. She also tied her hair up into a bun, letting hair out to frame her face.

As for Leah, she took a different route, wearing a dress. She rarely ever wore dresses to work apart from that time when her burns were still healing.

It was a pink dress that reached her ankles and she decided to let her hair down. She wanted to play around with her image.

Kane being Kane, just wore a suit like every other day, not that he could wear anything else.

He first picked up Enya, as she is staying nearby, than of course, Leah.

Since it was early, plus they could come to office later, they headed for breakfast.

Perks of being the boss.

They drove to a nearby cafe for a light breakfast, ordering teas and sandwiches to share.

"Damm this is good. I kinda wanna just quit my job and be a food blogger instead" Enya said, taking bite after bite.

Both Kane and Leah nodded in agreement. Food is just too good.

It was just all eat no talk, snatching food from one another. Since everyone was fighting, Kane decided to order two more sandwiches which made everyone happy.

All of their mouths were stuffed with sandwiches. It definitely is a sight to see.

They managed to finish up the food with a smile and the three got back into the car and headed to the office.

The moment Kane parked his car, they were swarmed with reporters and paparazzi.

With Kane and Enya being used to such situations, they knew what to do.

Calling security, they arrived within seconds and made way for the three of them. One guard almost pulled Leah away, thinking she was a reporter.

Thankfully, Kane pulled her away and gave a signal to the guard who looked apologetic.

They both didn't give him lots of problem. With one being he didn't know who Leah was so it was understandable.

As for number two, he was just doing his job.

They managed to arrive at the building safely, with no paparazzi trying to get close to them.

However, some nosy workers came to the ground floor to see what was going on.

Kane had dismissed all of them with a stern tone, hoping they would listen. Sometimes, no matter how stern of a tone he speaks in, people won't bother.

Not wanting to be a very aggressive kind of boss, he tried to be more mellow and reasonable with the tasks and work for his employees to do.

Most of them did listen, while some were still gossiping.

He slammed his hand on the table which hit everyone to move. They understood he was mad.

"Byee! See you later!" Leah bid them goodbye as she left for her floor. They were going to level 27, where their seats were.

The moment Leah stepped out of the lift, Hannah came to her, bombarding her with questions.

"Why were you with Kane and Enya? What are the paparazzi doing? Is Kane okay? How's Enya? What were you guys doing?" Hannah asked Leah question after question, not giving her a space to breathe.

"We were just having breakfast. And yes, they are both fine" Leah explained.

"Breakfast? Why didn't you tell me? i could have joined you guys!" Hannah exclaimed, her face looking a little annoyed.

"Sorry, we will call you next time" Leah replied, scratching her head. She felt very awkward and uncomfortable.

"Anyways, I have to get back to work. See you later" Leah said, rushing to her table. She couldn't handle all that craziness from Hannah.

She started on her work right away, praying hard Hannah won't bother her anymore. It was too suffocating.

There were no signs of Hannah so Leah could do her work peacefully.

Leah managed to avoid Hannah till lunch time. She had no idea where Hannah was the whole time.

She was just glad. It would be very overbearing for her.

Just then, Leah heard footsteps and looked up to see Kane and Enya.

"Hey, long time no see" Enya joked which made the two of them laugh. As they were laughing, Hannah decided to pop in.

"Are y'all heading for lunch?" Hannah asked innocently. Enya just nodded, not knowing how to react.

"Great! Can I join?" Hannah was getting on everyone's nerves but they didn't know how to say no nicely.

"Erm we were just-" Leah hadn't even finished her sentence.

"Perfect! Let's go!" Hannah cut off Leah's words, then proceeded to cling on Kane's arm.

Kane's face had scrunched up by how close they were. He tried to shrug her off but she just held him even tighter.

He probably would have lost blood circulation if he didn't say anything.

"Can you let go of me? My blood circulation is going to stop" Kane said irritated. When Hannah's grip has loosen, he shrugged it off and kept a distance away from her.

Hannah was a little sorry, apologizing for squeezing him too hard. However, she was still persistent, trying to get close to him.

Kane had never wanted to punch a girl so much before, but he refrained and kept calm.

They were walking towards the Japanese restaurant Kane owned. Everyone was quite happy to eat their food, except for Hannah.

She hadn't even been there before.

"Hi Mr De Luca. Table for four?" The same waitress, Jane greeted them.

Kane nodded as a response and so she led them to a private room.

Hannah had insisted to sit next to Kane and sat right next to him, still being very clingy.

Enya and Leah couldn't do much to help him. They had no choice but to sit opposite of them.

"I'll be back to take your orders" Jane said as she closed the door for their privacy.

"Let's order" Enya said, handing out the menu to one another. It was mainly for Leah and Hannah since they hadn't been here many times.

"I think I'll get the curry chicken don with

chawanmushi" Kane said.

"I'll take the same" Hannah exclaimed a tad bit too quick, which was very weird.

"I think I will order the clay pot udon" Leah said.

"And I will have the soda noodles" Enya said. It was her personal favorite.

As if Jane had been standing outside, she had come in at a perfect timing.

"Ready to order?" Jane asked.

"Yes. Two erm sets of the curry chicken don with chawanmushi, claypot udon and soba noodles" Kane placed the order.

"Alright. I'll be back with your food" Jane didn't miss the look Hannah gave her. Actually, everyone saw that.

She was just an innocent employee who was just doing her job.

Jane didn't get why she was acting as if she was going to steal Kane.

Because that is what was going through her mind...

Jane was already attached and she couldn't care less about Kane, expect for the money he pays her.

Putting those thoughts aside, she went back to work.

To ease the awkwardness, Hannah decided go make conversation with the De Luca's, ignoring  Leah in the process.

Leah tried not to mind and look at her phone instead. What a beautiful phone am I right? She thought.

Anyone could tell how awkward everything was. Hannah just joining their lunch plans without any warning was annoying.

"So, how's work Enya?" Hannah looked at her smiling.

"Good" Enya just replied to her, not sure what else to say.

Hannah attempted to make small talk, trying to get closer to the De Luca's.

In the end, she gave up and instead just tried to talk to Kane more.

But that didn't work out as well.

So she just went on her phone and admired Kane. Well the phone thing was just a decoy. Hannah was just trying to look at him.

Thankfully, the food came in time, saving them from the uncomfortable silence.

It was very quiet and no one spoke except for Hannah. She was blabbering about her life, about how terrible her life is.

And this is what constitutes her 'terrible life'. Not having enough money to buy the Chanel and Gucci bags.

No one really paid much attention to her, just then eating away.

"You guys want to try?" Kane asked.

"I'll try!" Hannah exclaimed once again.

"You guys are eating the same thing" Enya said deadpanned.

"Oh ya! Whoopsie!" Hannah laughed at herself.

"I'll get some" Leah said for the first time in awhile.

He scooped some on his spoon and handed it over to Leah who received it with a smile.

Anyone could tell Hannah was very possessive and jealous over Kane. For christ sake, they weren't even together.

"It's good" Leah hummed happily. She might just come back to have more and explore the menu.

Enya passed the offer, solely focusing on her soba noodles.

In no time, everyone was done. Everyone enjoyed the meal and left with a smile.

They then walked back to the office, with Hannah still clinging onto Kane.

Kane was very close to firing her.

He couldn't stand how fake she was. Hannah probably was in it for the money.

When they arrived at the office, Hannah said, "Let's meet for dinner Kane. Just the two of us! I have a place we can go to and-"

"Hannah you are fired. I have had enough of your bullshit" Kane said calmly first, cutting off her words.

"But why? We are meant to be!" Hannah exclaimed.

When Kane didn't say anything, she went on. "I love you Kane. I joined the company just for you.

I have been watching you for a long time and you would be perfect to be my boyfriend, my lover.

Doesn't Hannah De Luca sound amazing?" Hannah pleaded with him.

"Look at our pictures!" Hannah scrolled through her phone, which were just baldy photoshopped photos.

"Enough! You are fired. Don't come back or I will get a restraining order against you" Kane yelled. That was the last straw for him.

This got Hannah's attention and so she just scurried off.

"What a day am I right?" Kane joked, as if he hadn't just fired someone.

"Yea" What a day, Leah thought.
