29| spontaneous trip

"Honey, take a look" Kane said a little weirded out by the randomness of the news. There wasn't anything he did that caused people to think that did he?

Kane was adamant about not getting Leah in the spotlight as much as possible.

Leah, who was completely unaware by this piece of news, was shocked to see that headlines.

Who in the world was so free to make up lies and post them for clout?

"Oh god, what in the world did my eyes just see" Leah muttered to herself, completely astonished by the piece of news.

Suddenly, she remembered something. Earlier that day Audrey blurted out daughter in law, which might trigger that news.

"By the way, Hannah, Jessica and Bianca were all arrested today. And Bernard too" Leah told him, remembering the events earlier today.

"That's great. At least now we don't have to worry about any of them anymore" Kane said to her in response.

She knew that he didn't know who Bernard was and she felt bad, but she didn't want to tell him.

Leah was afraid of what Kane would say, and possibly leave her after telling him the whole story.

For her own selfish reasons, she would rather withhold her story first.

Just then, the food had arrived. Placing their phones away, they reduced a source of distraction.

With all the drama recently, they needed a break, Kane thought. And he thought of a vacation.

Satisfied with his idea, he asked Leah for her opinion. She might not want it, he reasoned. He would rather make sure Leah was to enjoy the trip.

"What's your thoughts on a vacation?" Kane had blurted out randomly while she was munching on the food.

"You mean travel? Like right now?" Leah asked, very much shocked.

"Not now, but in a weeks time? It's about time we have some relaxation" Kane responded.

She didn't reject, but she didn't accept.

"Please honey" Kane pleaded. "We will have a great time there" He reasoned with her.

Laughing at Kane's pout, she shook her head at how ridiculous he looked.

"What's with you and asking me things today huh? First the moving in, then a trip?" Leah said.

"So?" Kane asked, hoping for the best.

"Yes" Leah agreed, making Kane smile.

Kane was right.

It was a blast as much as Leah didn't want to admit it.

They went to Taiwan, sightseeing the whole entire time. It was perfect, no distractions, nothing.

Leah took Kane to many of the places she used to go as a kid and letting him try out more Taiwanese food.

Sad to say, it was their last day here. Time seemed to pass by quickly. As the couple had spent lots of quality time together, they were bummed to return back home.

But they couldn't really do much.

"Ready?" Kane asked as he rolled his suitcase down to the door of their room. Leah shouted back a "Yes", and came running down with her bag.

Planting a kiss on Leah's lips, they left the room. Checking out of the hotel, they exited the place to see a car already there for them.

As always, Kane opened the door for Leah and then helped the driver placed their luggage in the boot of the car. Then, he entered and shut the door.

Throughout the whole ride, they are talking animatedly about their favorite moments thus far.

After the thirty minutes drive, they exited the car and left in a private jet just for them.

"Hi Mr De Luca and Ms Knight. Ready to depart?" Mr Rio said. With a nod, they departed from Taiwan, going back to Los Angeles.

During the 12 hour plane ride back, they did an array of activities. As there were a television to watch movies, they decided to start on that. Both respectively watching their own movies if their choice.

But that only took up about 2 hours of their time. As for the remaining 10 hours, they had a cycle of eat, sleep, talk, cuddle, work and repeat.

It is surprising how that cycle kept them through ten hours.

Soon enough, they landed.

Leah was still half asleep, too groggy to realize they landed, while Kane on the other hand was already awake and slightly shook her awake.

Noticing Leah was very much still in la la land, Kane carried Leah while their driver helped helped with the suitcase.

They for sure were going to have jet lag.

When they were all settled in, the driver drove them back home. Home sweet home, he thought.

Leah was still very much asleep. It was a miracle how she hadn't woken up yet, with all the noise from the surroundings.

After a long and torturous ride back, they reached the familiar looking place they called home.

Carefully, he first placed her on the sofa before bringing all the luggage back in and thanked the driver before going back to Leah.

Kane then helped Leah by changing into comfy clothes, aka her pajamas. It wasn't the first time he saw her bare, but he felt that she might be uncomfortable.

After all, they had only been intimate for a few times.

With that, he placed her in the bed and gave her a kiss.

After that, he started working on the laundry from the week long trip. It definitely was going to be a hassle to wash everything.

Once he got everything he could into the washing machine, he went to take a quick shower and decided to relax.

It was about 10am when he finished everything. With the very odd timings they had to get used to, it was a blessing that Kane was still awake.

As such, he took the space next to Leah and drifted off to sleep.

It had been weeks since their trip and both were well rested and got used to the timings here.

Right now, they were preparing for a press conference to address the whole fiasco.

The mess created by the three girls garnered so much attention that they had to be super secretive when traveling to Taiwan.

Luckily, there was no sign of paparazzi around during their trip. It would have made the trip not a peaceful one.

She had a bundle of nerves in her stomach, having never been in the public eye before. She knew the moment she said yes her life was going to change.

Paparazzi will be constantly in her face but Leah wouldn't change it for the world. For Kane.

"You okay?" Kane asked, noticing her habit when she's nervous, playing with her fingers.

"If you don't want to appear, you can don't, you know?" Kane made sure she was okay.

With a nod as confirmation, Kane and Leah had a short yet sweet kiss before entering the room of cameras blinding their vision.

Taking a seat, Kane started off, "Hi everyone, this is Kane De Luca and my girlfriend, Leah Knight" He introduced Leah, who waved as a response.

"We are going to address the recent situation regarding the break in and some questions may be answered today" Kane said to the sea of cameras. He really was a professional.

As he was about to continue, the door burst open, revealing two people whom they least expected to see.
