Chapter 32

Unsettling news.

Life is better with you!

Samantha rests her back against the wall and sits down. She crosses her legs to keep herself from flashing any students or teachers walking by. Ashley seems mildly upset when bringing her's and Samantha's lunch into the hall.

Samantha lays me down on her skirt covered thigh to take her sack of lunch from Ashley.

"You left Jazz by himself?" Samantha asks.

Ashley slides down next to Samantha. "He was being a real ass for some reason, then his snobby girlfriend, Olive came and whisked him away to another table."

Samantha frowns out of concern. "That's unusual."

"Yeah, well," Ashley opens up her lunch and digs into her chicken salad. "He's been hanging with some assholes like Olive so that explains his crappy attitude."

Samantha opens her own lunch and I wait patiently for my food to be handed to me. She plucks out a tiny box and hands it to me.

"Thanks," I say.

"You're welcome."

I eat, silently listening to the conversation Samantha and Ashley have between each other.

"That day you left to hang out with Bruce, did you ask him," Samantha asks out of the blue.

Ashley sets down the bite she's about to take and sighs. "Yeah,"

Samantha apportions the topic more gently. "And what did he say?"

The redhead is silent for a moment before unexpectedly exclaiming her excitement. "He said yes!"

Samantha's own expression changes into excitement as well. "Are you serious? He said yes!"

"Yes!" Ashley responds.

The loud noise makes my brain throb, but I won't stop the girls from getting all excited and girly or whatever because of my headache.

"That's great Ashley," Samantha squeals, happy to know her friend has a happy beginning. Hopefully, Ashley will get a happy ending too.

"I know right." Ashley squeals back. "We're going on our first real date this Friday."

"Where are you going?" Samantha asks. She pulls out a wrapped sandwich but doesn't unwrap it just yet. She waiting for Ashley's answer.

"He's taking me to the movies after we have dinner at Cheeky Pizza," Ashley explains. "The place is cheap, but the pizza's good."

"That's Wonderful." A new voice pipes up, "Greasy pizza for a greasy little pig like yourself, Ashley."

"Fuck, it's Olive," Ashley mutters under her breath, looking down the hall. "Hey, Olive! How's your new sex toy? Does he make you howl to the moon at night?"

Samantha chokes on her drink and I burst into laughter.

I see the girl Ashley is talking about. She has long blonde hair, green eyes, and freckles dotting her entire face. It's just her walking the halls. I thought she'd carry an entire hoard of people out here to mock Ashley.

"That is private business." Olive shoots back with a nasty glare.

Ashley turns to Samantha with a wide smile. "Let me translate. That means yes."

"Shut up, you fat hog!"

"I'm eating a Salad!"

"It's still not going to help you lose any of that weight. Fat thighed, so gross."

Ashley stands up, her hands in tight fists. "Why do you care about my figure you skinny bitched toothpick."

"Ugh, how rude!" Olive huffs, crossing her arms like a whiny child. "I'm only giving you some pointers about your figure, nothing else."

"You're being a complete ass if you ask me. And I don't want your damn pointers anyway." Ashley retorts.

Olive's eyes narrow into a harsh glare. "Why are you two losers sitting out in the hall anyway?"

"That's none of your business," Ashley responds.

Olive smiles seeing Ashley's reaction to everything and it makes me question what this girl is doing out here. Olive has no real reason to be out here except to mock and bother Ashley. If that's her only reason then why does she have to waste our precious quiet lunchtime? What's the point? Go insult each somewhere else, not during lunch.

Olive smiles smugly. "I heard from Jazz you got a tiny, Samantha. How ignorant are you bring such a weak little thing here?"

Weak? Bitch, if  I were your size I'd knock you flat on your back!

"Why do you care about what I choose to do with my tiny?" Samantha asks weakly.

Olive rolls her eyes like it's common sense. "You and five other people in this school own a tiny, and only two of you brought one to a wretched place like this."

"And why do you care?" Samantha repeats.

Olive scoffs. "Ugh, your attitude is disgusting. I don't know why I'm out here warning you about people who'd want to steal your tiny. It's a real waste of my lunch period if you're going to keep acting like that."

"She's not doing anything," I mutter under my breath. "You're the real problem here." Muttering or not, Olive wouldn't be able to hear me anyway.

"Anyway, you guys have fun eating out in the hall. I'm not going to try and get you guys to tell me why you're sitting in the hall." Olive turns on her heel and wakes away. "Bye-bye, losers!"

Ashley sits back down, a glare in her eyes and a frown on her lips. "What a total jerk."

"No kidding," Samantha adds.

I agree as well, but it does concern me when she did say some people might and try to take a tiny from their owner. Samantha and Ashley might not be as worried, but then again why would they be worried? Their not the ones who'd get kidnapped or stolen from their owner.

"You think she's telling the truth? About people wanting to steal Caesar?" Ashley asks.

I look up at the giant redhead and see the genuine concern on her face. There's something I haven't seen her show towards me at least. It must be because she's finally warming up to me. Maybe.

"I know Olive pretty well. She's well known for telling the truth about people." Samantha then sighs and looks down at me. Her hands come up on either side of me. "I can only hope she's lying just to spook me."

"Don't worry, Sam," I say reaching for her thumb to comfort the giantess. "I'm not completely defenseless and you're not alone in this."

Samantha cocks her head to the side like a confused dog. "What?"

Ashley scoots closer. "Yeah, What did you say?"

I roll my eyes and repeat myself by yelling. "I'm not completely defenseless!" To be honest, how did she hear me earlier.

"Oh, how so?"

"Well, you got me!" Ashley throws her arm around Samantha.

"And you got me!" Another random person came sliding in and wraps his arm around Ashley.

Samantha leans forward, eyes blinking at the man that just slid in. "Bruce, what are you doing here?"

Bruce, Ashley's new boyfriend. He's got sandy blond hair and the greyest eyes. He looks mighty familiar though. He's got a deep but soft voice like a guy named Bruce should have. In my opinion that is.

"I'm here to say hi to my girl." Bruce leans in and pecks Ashley on the cheek.

"Aw," Ashley coos. "Thanks, babe."

"So what are you lovely ladies talking about?" Bruce asks.

"Olive came out here to give us some advice." Ashley groans. She sticks out her tongue clearly disgusted.

Bruce winces. "Ooh, that doesn't sound fun at all. What was she telling you guys?"

"She was telling us that some people would try to steal Caesar from Samantha."

"Ashley!" Samantha yells when Ashley spoils her secret. "You're not supposed to tell him!"

Ashley blinks then slaps her forehead, realizing her mistake. "Oh, yeah. Bruce pretend you didn't hear that."

"Ashley already told me you got one," Bruce responds with a proud smirk.

Ashley gasps and swats her boyfriend's arm. "Trader."

Bruce smiles widely. "I love you too."

These two are made for each other. A perfect couple too in my opinion even if they do suck at keeping secrets. Birds of a feather flock together.

"What's this tiny's name and are they as cute as my little Mai?" Bruce asks leaning over to get a better look at Samantha.

Mai? Could it be? No, I can't get my hopes up. Xavier was just a lucky run in right? There's no possible way it's her.

Might as well go all the way since Bruce already knows about me because Ashley spilled the beans easily. At least she kept the other secret under wraps. If that got out, I don't know how Samantha would be able to handle that.

"Caesar-"

"Wait, let her introduce herself." Ashley cuts in.

Samantha scrunched her nose in a concerning kind of way. "Are you sure? She just got over a panic attack."

I speak for myself though. "I'm fine, Samantha,"

Samantha frowns, still full of concern for me, but obliges. "Alright."

She wiggles her hand underneath me and picks me up with tenderness as always. "If you say so."

Samantha holds me up for Bruce to see. I stay seated and wait to see what he has to say. "She's cute," he shrugs. "But not as cute as my little Mai."

I was never good at being cute for others. I'm that Tomboy type of girl. Never afraid to get some dirt under my nails and I'm never afraid to knock some teeth in either.

"I'm not here to look cute for you," I say in a cold calm tone.

Ashley's face lights up. "There she is!"

Bruce is taken back and begins to defend himself. "That's not what I meant."

Ashley spares him the embarrassment though. "There's no reasoning with Caesar, Bruce. She's a stubborn tiny."

Samantha nods in agreement. "She is."

Bruce hums, getting the message and leans back against the wall. "The bell is about to ring. Hey, maybe you and Samantha can come over to my place and Caesar can meet Mai. How about that?"

Ashley is quick to say yes to the plan, but Samantha has her doubts. She shows clear concern for me and my safety. She still clings onto the point of my panic attack, still thinking it's a problem.

"Well..." Ashley pauses for a moment, thinking of a counter-argument. "Why don't you let Caesar decide? You're always talking about how she should choose for herself."

Samantha frowns, unhappy that her own friend has used her own words against her. "I hate it when you do that."

Ashley smiles that same dumb smile. The wide one where your teeth show and your eyes are close to being squeezed shut. "But you love me."

Samantha sighs, giving into her friend. "Fine. Caesar, do you want to go see this girl?"

Take a chance and find out if it's Mai, my best friend at this boy's house? I'd jump at that chance under different circumstances. But I'm feeling dead on the inside and on top of that I doubt it's her. Luck can on only go so far before you lose it.

"No," I say after taking a second to think. "I just want to go home."

"You heard her." Samantha looks up at her friends. "Caesar doesn't want to go."

Ashley pulls out a pouty face, puppy eyes, a curled up lip and all. She clasps her hands together and begs for her friend to go. "Come on, it'll be fun!"

Samantha gives her friend no breathing rooms. "Caesar said no, Ash. Can we leave it at that."

"What about this weekend?" Bruce suggests.

"Again, that's up to Caesar," Samantha says.

This time I think for a little longer. I mean, what could go wrong right? A lot. A lot can go wrong. And with my luck, something probably will. You got to live life on the edge, right? No, you don't, but I'm going to.

"Whatever," I grumble.

Ashley leans to Bruce, whispering to him. "That means yes."

"Sweet, then I'll go home and tell Mai. She'll be excited to meet someone of her size." Bruce says.

The bell rings right after Bruce finishes his sentence and people start to slowly file out of the lunchroom.

"Dang it, I hardly ate anything." Samantha curses looking down at her sandwich. It's not even half eaten.

"If it makes you feel better, I didn't eat much either," Ashley says, trying to make her friend feel better.

Samantha takes a few more bites of her sandwich then stuffs it back in her bag. She slips me back into her breast pocket and stands up to head to her next class.

"Bye guys," Samantha says.

"See you around girly!" Ashley cheers.

Samantha rushes down the halls to her next class which means I have to cling to the inner cloth of her pocket. So I'm hugging her chest basically.

"I'm a T.A. for the next class so if you need anything you can tell me," Samantha says.

The only thing I need is to get out of here and get home.
