It's a dream
Life is better with you!
Author's Notes: I was writing the next part of the story and got the greatest idea. So if you've watched ant-man and the wasp, there is a scene where Scott (Ant-man) changes several sizes and it gave me this idea. So think of this chapter as a chill chapter (that's what it's supposed to be) with little plot to the story. Anyway, enjoy the chapter! Leave a comment of what you think of it too! It'd be greatly appreciated.
"Caesar," A low whisper brushes over my small body.
Unknowingly, I'd fallen asleep on Samantha's thigh while outside and was woken by the girl. We're now on the couch in the living room. How'd did we get in here without her waking me?
I roll over and curl up into the normal ball of grumpy tiredness that I am. Just described every teenager after being woken up. "What?" I groan miserably.
Samantha picks me up off her thigh. "I got a surprise for you." I can hear the smile on her red lips.
I groan again, but I tell myself to do it for Samantha, and sit up and rub the sleepiness out of my eyes. "What is it?" I try to hide a heavy yawn with the back of my hand
Samantha smiles brightly and holds up a couple of different colored vials of liquid. "I was snooping around in my mom's office and accidentally stumbled upon these in her drawer."
I look at the vials, confused as to how she got the weird looking liquid and concerned as to why Samantha, a real-life cinnamon roll, has them so casually.
"What do they do?" I'm curious okay, and besides, Samantha wouldn't put me in any kind of danger.
Samantha shrugs, humming I don't know. "But don't you want to find out?" She asks raising her brows with excitement.
"I don't think this is a good idea," I say hesitantly. "What if your mom finds out?"
Samantha frowns at the mention of her mother and it kills her happy attitude. "She's at a business meeting."
I still don't think it's a good idea to mess with something Willow created. It could be explosive liquid for all we know and I don't feel like exploding.
"We'll try one, how about that?" Samantha pipes trying to strike a deal with me.
To be honest, I can't say no that happy go lucky smile on the girls face. I sigh in defeat and agree. "Okay, okay, just one though."
Samantha's smile widens ten-fold. She sets me down on the coffee table as well as several of the veils. She fiddles with an orange vial and finally pops it open, the orange liquid drenching me in the process.
"Sam!" I cry out in anger.
"Oops." Samantha smiles sheepishly. "Sorry."
The orange liquid evaporates and I'm dry again. Thank gods it wasn't exploding liquid. I wonder what it's really supposed to do besides evaporate into thin air.
There's an odd tingling feeling in my nerves and my heart begins to pound like a NASCAR pumps gas. It feels like a rave party in my chest. I look down and stare at my hands. Their shaking like crazy!
"Oh, my gods! Caesar, you're growing!" Samantha exclaims jumping to her feet.
I examen myself with shock. Thank the gods my clothes grew to or else things would have gotten awkward. The growth is barely noticeable until I look at Samantha herself. She's shorter than normal. How much did I grow?
That question is answered quickly when Samantha scoops me up under my arms. She has the biggest smile on her face and stars in her eyes. "You're like a little sister!" She pulls me into a bone-crushing hug.
Oh, my gods, no!
"You're just the cutest thing aren't you!" Samantha squeals. The teen gushes over my larger, but still small, size. Then as if a huge light bulb blinked on above the girl's head, Samantha sets me back down in an open space and dumped more than half of the vial on me.
I frown at the girl. "How about you tell me the next time you decide to dump some weird chemical on my head," I grumble.
The tingling begins again and this time I notice the growing. It's faster now like my body has already gotten used to the chemicals. The only problem is that I can't stop growing!
When I crawl passed Samantha's normal height, I begin to panic. "Um, Samantha?"
Samantha as well takes notes and back away, mostly out of fear than awe.
"Uh, Sam!" I cry, now terrified I might grow right out of the house. "Is there anything you can do?!"
"I-I don't... I don't know!" Samantha panics, grabbing at the other vials to see if she can reverse the effects.
My head bonks against the ceiling. I hunch over now, trying my best to stay as small as I can, but that's not possible. Thankfully the effects slow down and I stop growing. Not to mention the living room is spacious which is a real life-saver. Who knows what would have happened if I grew any bigger.
I release a sigh. "Thank gods."
"Oh, my..." Samantha's small voice catches my attention. She's shocked to see my large size.
I swallow nervously, scratching the back of my head. "You're not afraid... are you?"
"You're... you're... YOU'RE HUGE!!" Samantha practically screams with excitement. "You have to be at least eighteen feet tall! Do you know awesome this is!! My own personal giantess!" The girl has real stars in her eyes this time.
A questionable look crosses my face as I watch Samantha pace back and forth, talking about all the cool stuff she and I could do. Some of them I wouldn't say no to, but we have a bigger problem right now. How do I reverse back to my original size! Or at least a normal size.
"I bet you're comfortable to snuggle up with too!" Samantha's compliment makes me blush. She crawls up on my thigh and tries to give me a normal hug.
I tense up, now realizing that our roles have changed. I have to gentle with her or else I might hurt her on accident.
"Uh... can I hug you back?" I ask. I'm trying to be polite okay.
"I'd like that." She responds with the softest smile on her lips.
I slowly and carefully wrapped an arm around the small girl. When I thought about holding Samantha in my arms I didn't mean something like this. It's weird but nice. I love the girl and nothing can change that. Not even size can.
"Okay, big lug, let's get you back to your normal size." Samantha tries to pull away from the embrace, but I don't let her go. "Come on, Caesar. Don't get clingy."
"Please," I whisper softly, holding her closer to my body. "I want to hold on to you a little longer."
My voice has never been so gentle and caring up until this point. I want to cherish this moment before being turned back to normal. Who knows when the next time will be when I'm able to hold Samantha into a warm and soft hug.
"This is what you wanted, isn't it. To hold me close and to never let go." It's not a question.
I answer anyway by tightening my embrace which loosens up when Samantha says it's too tight.
"Sorry," I mutter, finally letting the girl go.
She looks at me, deep in thought, her soft hands cupping my face. I stare right back at her getting lost in those beautiful golden brown eyes. I could stare at them all day and never get tired of it. They're beautiful! She's beautiful! If I could I would climb on top of a building and shout that as loud as I could to the whole world. I'd let the whole world know that I'm the luckiness girl to fall in love with Samantha.
Samantha looks back at the vials still on the coffee table. "I think mom has a chemical that turns you back to normal size, but I don't know which one it is," Samantha explains.
"Well, I'm willing to try them all," I say without a care in the world. I'd do anything to be Samantha's size, maybe a few inches taller, but who's keeping count of those inches really.
Samantha hops off my thigh and looks through the vials, seeing if there are any descriptions on them. There are only four vials and I'm sure none of them are going to kill me. Hopefully.
Samantha swirls the purple liquid in one vial around, looking at it thoughtfully. "I have a feeling that this one is the right one."
Only one way to find out. "Give it to me."
Samantha clutches it to her body. "No, you'll break it."
I roll my eyes and frown at her. "You just want to pour it on me don't you."
Samantha smiles widely. "Maybe."
Another sigh. "Okay."
"Yay!"
She pops off the cork and slowly pours the liquid into my open palm. I dabble some on my clothes so they can shrink as well.
There's another weird feeling again. This time I feel constricted and tight. It's as if a large snake has wrapped itself around my body and tightens its grip with every breathing moment.
Samantha stands back as I begin to changes sizes yet again. This time it's a more natural size for a human being. I think I missed the mark of 5'10 because I feel a lot shorter. I'm almost eye level with Samantha actually.
"How tall are you again?" I ask without thought. Hey, I didn't ask for her weight or her age, but I have a good guess one of those.
Samantha crosses her arms, clearly upset that I'd ask that. "What? Feeling shorter than your normal self?"
I measure myself up with Samantha. Whatever way you look at it, I'm one inch taller than her. "Yes." I respond, still too busy to realize what I said until Samantha huffs and snaps her head to the side with a frown on her face.
I use every waking moment to drink in all of Samantha's features. I don't know how to describe the girl except that she's an angel. That's my opinion and my opinion on people is usually right.
I cup her cheek and turn her face to look at me. "You look gorgeous."
Samantha's features soften and she puts her hand over mine. "I'm not the only gorgeous one here."
I step up and wrap both arms around Samantha's waist to pull her close to my body. "As far as I'm concerned, you are."
We stare at each other, slowly inching our faces closer to one another. Her breath brushing against my lips
"Caesar?" Samantha whispers softly. She's so close I could taste the mintiness.
"Yes?"
"Wake up."
What?
I pull away fast and look Samantha in the eyes. She repeats herself again, this time she's louder.
No! No, no, no! This can't be happening, it can't be!
I reach out to touch the girl, but she fades and so does the scene around me. The floor beneath me disappears and I fall. I try to scream out for help, but nothing comes out of my throat. No yell, no scream, not a peep.
"Caesar!"
I pop up, gasping for air. Every emotion is running rampant inside me right now. I cup my face and try to collect myself. What the hell just happened? What... Was that a dream? It was a dream! How could I be so dumb to fall for it?
"Caesar, what's wrong? Why were you yelling for help?" Samantha asks frantically. I look up to see the teen looking back at me with terror in her eyes. "Caesar, please tell me what's wrong."
I take a deep breath and release a heavy sigh, getting myself collected enough to answer the girl. "It's nothing."
I lied.
