Chapter 24

24.

HOPE

Milo.

"Bitches the suits are here!" Amir yelled, it was June and the wedding was in 19 hours. Ken and his boys were having the so called bachelor party at his parent's house.

My grandfather and his father were really good friends after the brunch I organized to get them acquainted after Ken proposed. Its been a few months of perfectly planning this wedding to the little gift baskets the guests present would leave with.

Amir had designed the suits along with detailing by Haven, my baby boy truly did have an eye for fashion and design. I of course had been the one to choose the June wedding date and the honeymoon was on the private Island Ken's father owned.

It was one of two gifts he was giving us, the house was jovial as ever and I liked it. "I can't believe it's almost a year or it is two when we met on that bench in the park.

You really are an angel Milo and you deserve this happiness, plus you're not getting any younger, almost twenty plus something but I love you still." I glared at Mia and she hugged me, it had been a bumpy ride for all of us. We got through it and I had to agree I deserved it.

"Milo I never thought I would have a son in law with how Ken raved about girls when he was younger, I'm so glad he turned out gay, I really love having you as my son-in-law." Mrs Melroe spoke and raised her glass and do did we, the monkey were with their papa.

"I would say I'm the lucky one, I really love him." They all gush over my statement. "I'm sure your mom would be proud of the choice you made wherever she is baby because I'm proud of you for choosing and following your heart." I smiled toward my grandmother, she was there to fill the void left by my parents.

"Now you have us hoe and we're not going anywhere." Everyone cheered as Amir hollered his statement."What do you think the guys are doing right now?" I asked wanting to know desperately.

"They're having a cookout, I made sure no stripper was hired or Emmy wouldn't be allowed to touch this ass for a week." I laughed as Amir responded gesturing to his body, having Amir always made life easy he was my sassy gay best friend and I loved him for it.

"I did the same with Caleb!" Mia announce and we laughed again at the statement she had announced, I wondered how both men would even survive if sex was taken off the table. Ken always begged.

The rest of the night we remembered the good times, the champagne flowed as we recalled the times we did embarrassing things in our childhood.

My never have I ever list was not that long after all as much as I believed it to be.

"Wake up Milo, it's your wedding day, the stylist is here, your suit is already set and Caleb texted saying Ken was half done." I heard the distinct voice announce. "Leave me I wanna sleep more." I groaned and rolled to the other side until I felt hands yanking the blanket away.

"Bitch get up I didn't look this fabulous for you to bail on your fucking wedding!" Amir yelled and that made me wide awake running to the bathroom, as Amir and Mia laughed behind me.

I showered and sat in the chair in front of the dresser, makeup and hairstyles being picked not by me. "A little blush there, more mascara, and oh yeah make his lips pop but not too much." Amir gave instructions and I sat there letting him have his way. I knew I was going to do the same in a month anyway.

Emmy had proposed to Amir just after Ken did, they chose a July wedding date, right after the 4th. So we had a lot to celebrate. "How do you like your hair length?" The male stylist asked, I knew Ken liked it longer.

"Long and wavy please, he likes getting handsy when I'm going down on him." I responded but realized, I was becoming Amir. Speaking of the little devil he laughed bringing my suit to the bed.

After I was done dressing in the white with black lining suit and the emerald green cuffs, I looked perfect. "Damn he is not going to recognize you looking like that, you're looking beautiful Milo." Mrs Melroe complimented making me blush.

I was nervous though and without my little monkeys or Ken to calm me down I was almost in overdrive.

"They're ready." One of the guys hired by Amir from the company to help announced, I was now sweating.

"Stop biting your lip Milo, it's gonna be ok and we don't want Ken worrying about a bruised lip now do we?" Mia soothed and I didn't want to ruin the mood or my wedding day so I calmed down.

We walked down the stairs of the mansion where the family and I except the boys had slept. It was the most secure place, we had used it when Mia and Amir got kidnapped.

It had a huge backyard so it was the perfect place, the unused barn had been turned into the reception area, so all we needed were golf carts to take us to and from the wedding venue, to the reception.

I took my place between my grandparents, I kept my eyes on Ken, he was there waiting for me in a suit that matched mine only that his was black. "Keep your eyes on him my little Milo, nothing else matters." Granpa asserted placing a kiss on my forehead, we walked toward Ken on the white carpet gran had chosen.

Haven was dropping the flowers ahead of me and Haden was holding the rings. Ken looked so perfect standing there, when we reached the makeshift altar, I hugged my grandparents as they handed me to Ken, grandma wouldn't stop crying and grandpa led them to their seats.

"Priest no one is going to object so can we just skip that part." Ken pleaded and I could see most of the guys laughing, he was just as anxious as I was, we wanted this part over with. "Fine then." The priest complied.

"You each have written your vows so Ken speak forth." The priest announced. "Milo my four leaf clover, I know I never fail to tell you this every day but man I love you and that ass." The small crowd laughed even the priest.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me, I don't know where I would be without you, if I could pull out my heart and give it to you as an offering to show my love I would. You mean so much to me, so in sickness and health, I will be there by your side. I promise to love you each and every day as we shall both live, to be your best friend, your lover, and the father our kids deserve." He finished and I wiped the stray tear away.

"Milo Speak forth." The priest probed. "Kennedy I wanted you the day I saw you walking into my office, I daydreamed of the things I would do to you if ever I was locked in a room with you." Amir eolf whistled in the back as everyone laughed.

"You were the best thing that happened to me too and I wouldn't want to love any other than you, I promise to love you in sickness and health, in the fights and tantrums we will have, I will never stop loving you, I will be the home you come to when the world gets tough and I promise to love you and only you for as long as we both shall live." I spoke with a smile as we exchanged rings.

"No greater love can surpass the one we feel toward our partner as we have seen, by the power bestowed upon me by the state of New York City I pronounce you married." The priest announced and I grinned. "Ladies and gentlemen Mr. and Mr. LaNoir Melroe." The priest added and it was perfect.

"You may kiss your husband." The priest sang and after that all I could feel were Ken's lips on mine, we pull apart and I was blushed red walking down and away from the aisle.

The reception was beautiful, everyone laughed and enjoyed themselves. "Time for cutting the cake then their dance." Caleb announced and I was really curious to see Ken dance, I knew he could but I wanted to test it out.

The cake was set and had the two figurines of us at the top, we cut the cake slightly pausing to take pictures, our monkeys helping push down the knife too. "You didn't!" I exclaimed turning to face Ken in realization he had made the five layer cake rainbow colored.

"I did." He stated proudly and I loved it, I was definitely going to enjoy it. We exchanged the cake and a kiss as well with the cake being served to the guests.

I wouldn't have imagined Ken being a great dancer but he surprised me, he was a pro and I knew that this dance was one of many that we would have.

"May I?" The senior Melroe asked and Ken relinquished me to his father, I honoured my partner and he chuckled. "Thank you Milo Melroe, has a nice ring to it don't you think." I chuckled as we danced.

"It does." I conceded as we kept dancing. "Have fun on that honeymoon." He added and I hugged him. "I will call you as soon as we get there." He chuckled and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"Boys it's time to go." Ken announced, he had insisted that the boys come with us to the Island, it felt right to him and I agreed. The car pulled up as the family waved us off, hugs and kisses were shared, I definitely loved my life and how it turned out.

As we drove off to the airport this wasn't our end, it was our beginning. We had survived the fights, the kidnapping and most of all we had survived our own internal fears and this was the result, we drove off to forever.

"I love you Mr. Melroe." We both exclaim simultaneously and our kids chuckled. There were and always will be my Hope.
