It was night time and after ensuring that Kashi and her mother, Anjali, were comfortable and settled, Veer took a moment to breathe. The rain outside pelted against the windows, creating a soothing rhythm that contrasted sharply with the day's events.Veer prepared to leave, despite the storm outside. He knew he needed to return home, but the relentless rain seems had no plan to stop today.
Anjali's eyes filled with concern as she looked at the darkening sky and the torrential rain outside. She turned to Veer, who was preparing to leave.
Veer beta, aaj bohot tez barish ho rahi hai. Aaj tum humare ghar hi ruk jao. Itne toofan aur baarish mein ghar vapis Jana khatre se khali nahi hai. (Veer beta, it's raining heavily today. Please stay here at our home tonight. It's not safe to travel back in this storm and rain.")
Veer shook his head politely. "Aunty, aap tension mat lijiye. Main theek se ghar pahunch jaunga." (Aunty, please don't worry. I will reach home safely.")
Anjali insisted, her voice filled with worry. "Nahi, Veer beta. Aapne humare liye bohot kuch kiya hai. Please, aaj yahi ruk jao. Itne toofan mein bahar nikalna sahi nahi rahega.
(No, Veer beta. You have done so much for us. Please, stay here. It wouldn't be right to go out in such a storm.)
Before Veer could protest further, Kashi spoke up, her eyes pleading. "Veer ji, please ruk jaayiye. Aaj toofan bohot tez hai. Mujhe bohot chinta hogi agar aap is mosum mein niklenge."(Veer ji, please don't go . The storm is very intense today. I will be very worried if you go out in this weather.")
Veer hesitated, but seeing the earnest concern in Kashi's eyes, he finally relented. "Theek hai Aunty, Kashi. Main aaj raat yahin ruk jaata hoon."(Okay, Aunty, Kashi. I will stay here tonight.").Kashi and Anjali smiled in relief.
Veer Beta, Kashi aaj mere saath so jayegi aur tum Kashi ke kamre mein aram se so sakte hain. (Veer Beta, Kashi will sleep with me tonight, and you can sleep comfortably in Kashi's room.) Anjali said her voice laced with genuine care and love.
Veer nodded, appreciative of her offer. "Ji, theek hai (Alright). Thank you, Aunty".
"Isme thank you ki koi baat nahi hai beta", ( There is no need to say thank you son ), Anjali replied in her motherly voice.
Veer, feeling a sense of belonging in this small, cozy home, turned to Kashi and her mother Anjali.
"Goodnight, Kashi. Goodnight, Aunty. Thank you again for your hospitality," Veer said warmly. His eyes lingered on Kashi for a moment longer, filled with unspoken gratitude and affection.
"Goodnight, Veer ji," Kashi replied softly, her eyes reflecting a mix of warmth and concern.
"Goodnight, beta. Sleep well," Anjali added with a kind smile.
Veer nodded and made his way to Kashi's room. As he entered, he couldn't help but notice the simple yet charming decor. The room was a reflection of Kashi's personality-delicate, creative, and full of warmth.
The walls were painted a soft pastel pink, giving the room a serene and comforting ambiance. There was a small wooden bed adorned with a handmade quilt, featuring intricate floral patterns. Next to the bed was a modest nightstand, holding a small lamp and a few books.
A window with sheer white curtains allowed gentle breeze to flow through the room, adding to its tranquil atmosphere. The rhythmic patter of rain against the window filled the room. A few potted plants sat on the windowsill, bringing a touch of nature indoors and reflecting Kashi's nurturing spirit.
One corner of the room was dedicated to her creative pursuits. A small desk cluttered with sketchbooks, colored pencils, and fabric swatches. It was clear she had a passion for designing.
He noticed a stack of beautifully detailed dress designs on her desk. They were intricate and imaginative, showcasing a talent that could rival any professional. He picked up a few, admiring the delicate lines and the creativity behind each piece.
Vishwanath, who owned multiple chains of fashion houses, knew how to recognize good work, and Kashi's designs were exceptional.
As he admired the sketches, the door creaked open, and Kashi limped in, carrying a cup of turmeric milk. She was wearing a simple salwar kameez, her long hair tied in a neat braid.
"Veer ji aap comfortable toh ho na yaha"? Apko kuch chahiye toh nahi? (Veer ji, are you comfortable here? Do you need anything?") she asked softly, her voice gentle despite her evident discomfort.
Veer immediately walked up to her and guided her to sit on the bed. "Kashi, tumhe rest karna chahiye. Tumhara pao abhi theek nahi hua hai,(Kashi you should rest, your foot has still not healed properly)
he scolded gently, kneeling down to examine her foot again. "You shouldn't be walking around."
Kashi winced slightly but gave him a small smile. "Main abb theek hoon, Veer ji" ( I'm fine now, Veer ji)
"Aapke liye haldi wala doodh laayi hoon.Ise pe kar apke haath ki chot aur bhi jaldi thik ho jayegi". ( I have brought turmeric milk for you. After drinking this your hand injury will heal even faster).
Getting up after examining her foot, Veer settled beside her on the bed and gently took the cup from her, his eyes softening as he looked at her. "Thank you, Kashi. Tum hamesha sabka kitna khayal rakhti ho." (Thank you Kashi. You always take care of everyone so much.")
She blushed slightly and her eyes showing a mix of exhaustion and determination.
Veer was about to take a sip of the milk,
when he suddenly stopped and handed the cup back to her. "Yeh tumhe peena chahiye, Kashi. Tumhe iski mujhse zyada zaroorat hai."(You should drink this, Kashi. You need it more than I do.")
Kashi frowned playfully. "Par Veer ji, yeh aapke liye hai. Aapko chot lagi hai."
("But Veer ji, this is for you. You have an injury").
Veer shook his head, still holding the cup out to her. "Aur tumhe bhi chot lagi hai, tumhe abhi ise peena padega. Main kuch nahi sun ne wala".(And you are injured too, you need to drink this right now. I'm not listening to anything.)
Kashi hesitated for a moment and then shook her head. "Nahi, Veer ji. Yeh main aapke liye layi hoon. Aapko ise peena chahiye."(No, Veer ji. I brought this for you. You should drink it.)
Veer sighed, then gently cupped her face with his free hand, carefully avoiding the bruise on her cheek. "Kashi, tum pehlay peeyo. Tumhe iski bohot zaroorat hai," he said softly. (Kashi, you drink it first. You really need it , he said softly.)
With his gentle insistence and the warmth of his touch, Kashi finally took the cup. As she drank, Veer watched her with a tender expression, feeling a mix of protectiveness and affection.
When she finished, a few drops of milk lingered on her lips. Veer wiped them away with his thumb, his touch lingering for a moment. Kashi's cheeks flushed with shyness, and she averted her eyes, a small, embarrassed smile playing on her lips.
"Better feel ho raha hai abb?" he asked, smiling. (Are you feeling better now?)
Kashi rolled her eyes but nodded and smiled back. "Aap hamesha apni baat manwa lete ho." (You're always able to get what you want.)
Veer chuckled. "Mein bas tumhara aur aunty ka khayal rakhna chahata hoon."
(I just want to take care of you and Aunty.)
Kashi smiled, feeling a mix of emotions. Her eyes sparkled with gratitude, and the bond between them deepened in the quiet intimacy of the room.
Veer ji, aap bohot achhe ho," ( Veer ji, you are really very nice) she said softly.
Veer's smile widened. "Aur tum bohot ziddi ho," he teased gently making her pout. (And you're very stubborn,he teased gently.)
Kashi laughed lightly, the sound like music to his ears. In that moment, amidst the rain and the quiet intimacy of the room, they felt a connection that transcended words. Vishwanath knew he would do anything to protect her and give her all the happiness she deserves.
