Chapter thirty four
His Mate: The Demon King
"Alpha," Aton screamed, running towards the man that was coming to him in quick strides. "Is it true?"
"I don't know," Alan shook his head, "but I have been walking around the pack hoping to find Sean and ask him but he hasn't showed up. And it leaves me thinking, could it be that he is with them or is all this just a fuss?"
"I don't know but the High warriors left last night and has not returned. The news is that the Black Wind pack had been attacked and the High alpha had summoned all warriors to help in the fight. According to the intel, the Nebuzars had been a big problem even for the High howlers and High chiefs until he showed up and ended the whole fight in just minutes. If it's true then what happened that day? Was he alive and we thought he was dead? I mean, he was in a deep slumber for eight hundred years."
Alan shook his head and one could see the urgency in his eyes. "I don't know but I do know that if this ends up being true, then I would be able to see my daughter again and Scarlet can finally..."
"Alan," a voice called and the men turned to see Scarlet running to them. They were both surprised to see her. Ever since the fight in the meadow, the Luna has never stepped out of her room and now here she was, running to them? Every wolf standing around were also shocked to see her. She was happy as she run, drying the tears that were trailing down her cheeks. When she approached them, she jumped into his arms and wrapped her arms tightly round his neck as he held her to keep her from falling while she laughed happily. "He is alive, Alan, I just heard that he had shown up last night in Black Wind pack. He is alive and which means our daughter is safe, Aliyah will be saved, Alan."
"Oh sweetheart," Alan sighed and held her, burying his face on her neck and breathing in her scent, how much he had missed her. How much he had missed her happy self. How much he had missed her laughter and how much he had missed her holding him like this like a child. "That's the news honey, that is the news."
Emily and Monica who was carrying baby Anita ran to them as well, their eyes held questions and held in happiness as they rested on Aton who smiled and nodded at them. Monica and Emily shared a joyful look, that news only means that Sean would be back home soon, they can finally see him after so long.
However, in the midst of their joy, darkness covered the clear blue sky all of a sudden and they all looked up at the strange omen. Scarlet and Alan shared a look, finally releasing each other from their hug as they wondered what could be happing now. Warrior wolves left their posts to meet them in other to protect their alpha and Luna. Wolves ran out of their houses, watching the darkened sky. A lightening drew and everyone gasped. It definitely couldn't be the rain, so what on earth could be happening.
"Send news, let the women and children be locked in the panic room," Alan ordered Aton who nodded and he turned to his wife, "go with them sweetheart, you will be safe."
"No, I am the Luna of this pack, I shouldn't run in the face of danger," Scarlet said stubbornly.
"Yes, you are the Luna and that is why you need to go with them so that you can keep everyone calm till all is settled," Alan said.
"Not a chance, I have neglected my duties for so long, I won't be doing so anymore," she said, her eyes getting determined as she looked up at the sky, waiting for what would be fighting them. At that moment, a man dressed in black appeared in the sky and Scarlet frowned. She looked closely and shook her head, there was no way she could be mistaken, "that is the vampire prince, isn't it?" she asked.
"What?" Alan and Aton asked at the same time and using his Alpha powers, Alan enhanced his vision and that was when he saw the man's handsome face clearly. Joy leapt in his chest, surpassing his fear of what they could be fighting. "It is him, but...when do nightwalkers have the power to change sky?" he wondered.
Edward flew down and when his legs touched the ground, his blue eyes scanned the wolves that had gathered for him. "If you want a fight, I will give it to you but I won't be the one to start it," his voice was smooth and soft but it also willed authority and respect.
"Stand down wolves," Alan commanded and walked out to the front, "no one is going to fight you prince Edward, on my word as an alpha."
"Good," Edward said, his eyes landing on the man.
"To what do we owe this pleasure?" Alan asked.
"I was asked to come here," he said, "who is Catherine?"
"That would be me, my prince," Catherine announced, walking out of the crowd to meet him, "what can I do for you?"
"My mate needs your medicine, can you help her or not?"
Catherine smiled, "there is no wolf that I cannot cure."
"Is something wrong with Aliyah," Scarlet asked, worried, "what is the problem?"
Edward didn't even glance at her to talk of answering her. Alan sighed and stepped forward, "prince Edward, you should understand that as her parents, we are really worried about her."
"Then give me the reason you had to let her be homeless all those times I weren't around?" he asked, "why she had to be running every single time without a single moment of peace. If you are really worried about her, how could you stay here in your pack where you are safe and eating fine but she had to be roaming around in the human realm just to stay alive? Don't even get me started with you, Alpha, because if I should release my anger on you, you would be dead, you and your pack burning down to ashes," Edward warned.
"You don't understand, we never abandoned her. We were just..."
"Afraid to disobey your High alpha," Edward interrupted. "And you called yourself a leader. A leader that cowers at any moment or fails to do what he believes is right is nothing but a coward. So don't even start playing the worry card on me because if you were really worried, you would have gone out there to find her and protect her, against all odds."
"But..."
"Hush," Edward said with a wave of his hand and Alan was slammed on a wall. Everyone gasped but the man was unfazed as he added, "I am tired of your excuses. And you, come with me," he waved his hand at Catherine and they both disappeared from the spot, leaving the onlookers traumatized with what just happened. Seconds after his departure, the sky cleared and became bright blue once more. Aton rushed to Alan to help her up and the man had difficulty standing up but when he finally did, he sighed and wiped away the blood on his mouth.
"That is not the vampire prince," Alan said, shocking everyone who heard him.

A black cat landed in front of an ancient palace and slowly morphed into a woman with long platinum-blond hair in a sleek ponytail. She smiled and closed her eyes as her naked body was then covered in black leather jacket and leather pants. And she was instantly wearing a kneel-level healed boot. "Let's get to work," she said just as other cats started landing beside her and morphing into humans as well; Male and female. They clothed themselves just like her before she started walking to the big front door, followed by her minions.
However, a black python suddenly crawled in front of them and they stopped and hissed at it. The python morphed into a man with black short hair and black eyes. His jaw was squared and his lips so thin that one could miss it. He was dressed in black attire with a long black cape. He smiled to the woman and licked his lips, his tongue was long and divided in the center, just like a serpent's and just then, black snakes crawled behind him and then morphed into humans as well.
"Snake demons," a woman from the other side said.
"Cat demons," a man from the snake side said.
"Hello, Gaziah," the platinum-blonde haired woman greeted not so friendly.
"Hello Medlyn," the man nodded with a cunning smile, "long time no see my dear, cat," he chuckled, his tongue sticking out and growing so long that it touched Medlyn's face but she didn't flinch.
"Keep your tongue to yourself," she ordered.
"Oh-oh," Gaziah shuddered playfully, "I'm scared," he turned to his people and they laughed. When he turned back to Medlyn, all playfulness was gone from his face, "you are not getting the demon throne."
"Who is going to stop us?" Medlyn asked, tilting her head to the side.
Gaziah smiled, "the throne belongs to the Python king, and the cat lady will never sit on it. Because I am here to make sure of that."
"Enough talking," Medlyn said and snarled, rushing to him with her sharp claws. Gaziah hissed, his eyes diluting to a black line as he quickly evaded her attack so flexibly and then growing a tail immediately that he used and slam her away. The cats jumped at the snakes and a big fight ensued.
