Chapter 213 - Am I Really Father’s Child?

Feng Tianlan raised an eyebrow and looked directly into the butler’s eyes as she asked, “Is that all?”

The butler glanced up at Feng Tianlan, then quickly looked down again and said, “Someone is helping Xu Jiayi and Tu Xiang take hold of the Feng family, and that’s just what I happened to overhear. I honestly don’t know anything more. That’s all I’ve got.”

He’d confessed everything he knew. He couldn’t comment on anything he didn’t know.

Feng Tianlan calmly nodded and looked over to Tu Xiang, who was trying his best to look calm and fearless. She laughed coldly, “Lock him in the dungeon, then sell the rest of them.”

Who could be behind them?

It seemed like only Tu Xiang and Xu Jiayi knew who it was. Even Tu Xiupei didn’t know.

“Sell them all?” Feng Qingling asked.

Feng Tianlan nodded and said to the servants, “I don’t like all the awful things you’ve done to destroy the Fengs, but I’m more than happy to hear about the Tus.”

“Feng Tianlan!” Tu Xiupei couldn’t take it anymore and roared.

Feng Tianlan dusted her clothes off and smiled harmlessly back at her. “The banquet at the Spiritual Foods Restaurant is about to begin. Do you want to come?”

“I...” Tu Xiupei wanted to declare defiantly that she wasn’t going. But then, when she thought about how famous the restaurant was and how beneficial its food could be for her, she couldn’t resist the temptation. She scoffed lightly and said, “I’m only going to see you barred from entering the restaurant and laughed at by the rest of the guests.”

Someone powerful backed Spiritual Foods Restaurant, so it was more than capable of hosting such a large banquet. Feng Tianlan, on the other hand, couldn’t possibly use her status as the Feng Clan Head to pressure the restaurant into hosting a feast.

Feng Tianlan just laughed as she looked at Tu Xiang and his family, then she got up and left the small courtyard. She felt more energetic after watching this show first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, since she still didn’t know who was behind all of this, she couldn’t touch Tu Xiang and his family just yet.

This was only because she was still too weak.

Tu Xiang watched Feng Tianlan leave, and viciousness could be seen in his eyes. He asked Tu Xiupei, “Pei’er, can you get some people from the Flying Frost Pavilion to find out who is the powerful alchemist backing her? That, or kill her?”

He didn’t want Feng Tianlan to remain alive. Not at all!

“Isn’t there someone backing you? Why not ask that person for help?” Tu Xiupei asked in return. Her image at the Flying Frost Pavilion was still that gentle, kind version of herself. If she asked such a favor, it might damage her reputation.

“Don’t ask about that. Just ask your fellow disciples at the Flying Frost Pavilion.” He had once thought of getting that specific individual to help, but after he’d taken taken over the Feng family, that person had never appeared again.

As for Xu Jiayi, he didn’t want to use her until the very end.

Tu Xiupei scratched her head. “I’ll try.”

She also wanted to find the powerful alchemist and get him to make pills for her alone. Then, she could train up a troop of personal bodyguards so that she would have an excellent army supporting her when she reached the Xuantian Continent.

“Do you think Feng Tianlan can really hold a banquet at the Spiritual Foods Restaurant?” Xu Jiayi asked worriedly.

“We’ll see when we get there.” Tu Xiang got up and left.

“Pei’er...”

Tu Xiupei saw that Tu Xiang had left, so she asked Xu Jiayi, “Mother, am I really Father’s child?”

“Pei’er!” Xu Jiayi sternly shouted. Her daughter’s suspicions swelled her vexation into anger.

Tu Xiupei touched her face and said with a shrug, “Well, if he’s not my biological father, then I hope I can become even more powerful than he is—or, at the least, not less powerful than he is now.”

If her skill level were as high as Tu Xiang’s, then she would kill Feng Tianlan in seconds. There would be no need to think too much, and she could just destroy her. Otherwise, they would remain under Feng Tianlan’s control forever.
