After its flower had been broken off, the vine, which was still trembling violently, suddenly lost all its vigor and collapsed onto the ground. Everything within the 150-foot radius also instantly dried up and surrendered all signs of life.

“Master, please punish me.” Azurite knelt down behind Feng Tianlan. “I made an error in judgment and nearly caused your death.”

“Get up.” Feng Tianlan turned to face her with the brightly colored flower still in her hand. Even though it had been pulled apart, the remaining four petals were still as red as blood.

Luo Yunzhu flew over and hugged Feng Tianlan. She sobbed, “Tianlan, you really gave me a scare.”

Feng Tianlan gasped, “Don’t hug me so hard. It hurts.”

Luo Yunzhu suddenly realized that her hand was touching Tianlan’s wound and immediately shrank back. “Sorry. I was too worked up.”

Chuling walked behind Feng Tianlan. Tears started rolling down her cheeks when she saw the long wound on Feng Tianlan’s back. “It’s all my fault for not protecting Miss properly.”

“Boss, you’re amazing. You even managed to subdue something so creepy.” Zhang Tiancheng breathed a sigh of relief. He sucked up in an attempt to relax the tension in the atmosphere a little.

Lin Suyin walked over. It seemed like she was relieved too. “Miss Feng, I’m glad that you’re alright. If anything happened to you, I would feel awful for the rest of my life.”

Feng Tianlan looked up at her and replied calmly, “Thank you for the concern, Miss Lin.”

Lin Suyin felt some discomfort in her heart but kept a magnanimous smile. “Since Miss Feng is fine, then I shall take my leave. My team has been scattered, and I have to go and look for them.”

“Miss Lin, I think you should dress your wound first.” Feng Tianlan passed her some Blood Clotting Powder. This was an excellent remedy for stopping bleeding. Other wounds, however, required different sorts of medicine.

Lin Suyin took it from her, bending her head as she thanked her, then turned and left. Feng Tianlan was still very wary of her. If Lin Suyin stayed with their group, Feng Tianlan would only become warier. So, it was better for her to leave for now. Then, when Feng Tianlan wasn’t so cautious, she would try to get closer to her again.

“Tianlan, Lin Suyin took an injury for your sake, and you’re just letting her leave like that?” Luo Yunzhu watched Lin Suyin walk away without entirely understanding why Feng Tianlan had done that. Tianlan wasn’t the ungrateful sort, so why was she behaving like this toward Lin Suyin? Because Lin Suyin was a love rival?

Feng Tianlan passed the Blood Clotting Powder to the others. Carefully, she took Luo Yunzhu’s hand and applied medicine to it. “She’s the team leader, so she can’t abandon her team members. That is her responsibility.”

Yunzhu was more naïve, after all. If others were kind to someone, then she would think that person was worthy of kindness.
