Chapter 25

Naughty Songbird

DIANA

~I think I’m falling in love with Levi Stark.~

That thought popped into my mind multiple times throughout the end of the week. First, when he serenaded me with a song he wrote from the heart. Then in the morning when we spent an hour simply holding one another.

And again, as we spent a slow day working on his album at my house. By Friday night, that thought streamed through my head relentlessly, like an endless course of bubbles.

Instead of riding the tour bus with his bandmates to Vegas on Friday night for the Saturday show, Levi asked to drive me there himself. He’d had practice with his band most of the day, so he arrived at my house in the afternoon.

It would be a four-hour car ride to Las Vegas from L.A., making me slightly nervous. Although we’d already spent so much time together, there was something intimate about long rides in an enclosed space together.

Regardless of my nerves for a weekend away with Levi, I packed my bag with countless possibilities in mind and dressed comfortably for the drive. And despite my reservations, the ride to Vegas with him amused me for hours.

Levi told me stories about his childhood and more about his family. I shared the same, regaling him with countless tales of my father and what it was like growing up on a tour bus.

He made me laugh so much that my abdominal muscles ached, and my cheeks hurt from smiling. We checked into his suite at the MGM Grand in time for a late dinner.

Although it wasn’t unusual to see celebrities waltzing through Las Vegas, a sighting together was the last thing we needed. So, we ordered room service, put on a movie, dressed in fuzzy white robes, and ate pizza on the massive bed.

Levi had torn the robe off me and thrown it carelessly across the room before the movie ended. Before I knew it, he’d spread me out on the mattress with his tongue flicking my clit and his firm grip holding my thrashing legs down on the bed.

That night when he slipped inside me, the moment felt different. Hot and heavy, but also slow and gentle. Between heated kisses and feather-light caresses, I realized he was making love to me.

“I’m yours. I’m yours, Levi.” Those words were a promise, and as close as I could get to admitting that I was falling for him. And they made him come hard, groaning in pleasure, and shooting his release inside of me.

It felt so damn good I fell into the depths of another orgasm alongside him. In the morning, Levi was already gone. He left me to sleep in while he went to the theater to practice with his band.

I used that time to soak myself in the extravagant hotel shower and order a large breakfast. I noticed another hickey on my neck, but by then I loved seeing it.

The love marks were a sign that Levi had kissed me there, bitten me there. It was a mark of his claim on me, his possession of my body, and maybe my heart as well.

Wanting to fit in with Levi’s fans at the concert, I spent a few hours shopping in the Las Vegas strip. Thankfully, the purple hair and massive sunglasses made me unrecognizable.

Ten years of avoiding cameras helped too. It allowed me the freedom to roam the strip in search of a new outfit. I settled on a black dress, ripped along the sleeves, over the breasts, hips, and backside.

Underneath I wore sheer tights and the dock martins I packed in my bag. I finished the look with darker makeup than I ever wore, but the punk rock vibe was perfect for Levi’s show.

Once ready, I walked twenty minutes to the Zappos Theater from the MGM Grand. The darkening sky and early chill made the walk pleasant despite the traffic pouring in.

Thanks to Levi, I had the best seats for the show. Front row, under the lights, in full view of his performance and his band’s shenanigans during the show.

With his menacing skull face paint and his bandmates’ demon masks, the flaring red lights and smoke drifting along the stage evoked a sense of hell and doom.

But his sensual movements and undulating hips throughout the heavy metal songs, paired with his deep, tantalizing voice, made the show provocative, as if they meant to tempt the crowd into erotic hellfire with hedonistic abandon.

Seeing Levi lost in the music and moving with ease onstage aroused memories of what his body was capable of. Every time he stroked the microphone, curled his fingers in a come-hither motion, or rolled his hips, my body physically responded.

At the end of the show, I was brimming with untapped energy backstage. With my special pass, I found myself in the dressing room waiting for Levi.

All the muscles in my body vibrated with energy as I paced restlessly in front of the vanity mirror. When the door clicked open, fireworks shot through my body and sparks skittered over my skin.

“Levi?”

“Hey, songbird.” His suave voice came out hoarse after the taxing show. The fatigue on his vocal cords only made him sound sexier.

“Oh, you did so well. Your show was impressive.” I threw myself at him, not caring if I messed up his stage outfit.

His arms slipped around me, and a deep chuckle rumbled through his chest pressed to my cheek. “I fucking love hearing that. I’m over the moon that you enjoyed it.”

I blinked up at him and lowered my tone. “Are we…um…are we going back to the hotel now?”

The black painted circles around his eyes widened, and those skeletal lips spread into a knowing smirk. “Actually, we’re going somewhere else tonight, if you don’t mind.”

“God, you could take me anywhere. You don’t know how badly I need you.” The ache between my thighs pulsed incessantly. Feeling his hard, muscled, warm body against mine intensified my desire.

Levi curled a finger under my chin and tipped my head back. His dark eyes roamed over my outfit, taking in every inch of my body hugged by the shredded black dress. He sucked in a breath.

“Fuck, and I’m tempted to bend you over here and now.”

“Do it,” I breathed, on the verge of begging.

“Naughty little songbird, aren’t you?” he teased. “What if I fucked you here and my bandmates showed up? Do you want them to catch me inside of you?”

I pressed my knees together to ease the sudden throbbing in my core. “No, I don’t.”

“Good.” Then Levi poked the tip of my nose and released me. “We’ve got someplace to be, so let’s go.”

“Where are we going?” I swallowed a groan of agony. My arousal soaked my panties, and I felt my heartbeat between my thighs.

He curled his hand around mine and sent me a devilish wink. His makeup made that gesture feel as if I’d sold my soul to the devil.

“It’s a surprise,” he replied, and tugged me after him. He whisked me out to the back of Zappos, where his car waited.

Once he peeled onto the highway heading away from the Las Vegas strip, he noticed me squirming in my seat. He hadn’t given another hint at our destination. The city night lights flashed dangerously on his wickedly painted face, but that only made me want him more.

“You better calm down before I have to pull over and fuck you, songbird,” Levi warned darkly.

My insides sparked at the low threat. I craved for him to do just that.

“I’ll behave,” I promised, my voice drifting out delicately between us.

“Goddamn, you better. This is important.”

Within the car’s dark interior, I saw him adjusting the front of his pants. A smile kicked up the corner of my lips knowing I affected him as much as he did me. However, questions ate away at me the farther we drove from the Vegas strip.

Where was he taking me?

The well-known casinos and hotels became nothing more than twinkling lights on the night horizon, growing smaller in the rearview mirrors. Eventually, Levi steered toward residential streets and slowed down as we passed through neighborhoods.

My heart hammered in my chest when he pulled into the driveway of a substantial two-story house. There were lights on inside, as if the occupants were waiting for guests despite the late hour.

Levi shut off the rumbling engine, and silence filled the suddenly cramped interior of the car. He sucked in an audible deep breath before reaching over the center console to grab my hand.

“If you don’t want to go inside, we’ll leave. Just say the word, and I’ll turn us around and go back to Los Angeles tonight,” he said, though something in his tone was optimistically cautious.

“Where are we?” I asked, even though I had an inkling.

“This is my family’s house.”

He turned his head, looking at me through the darkness. “I’d like you to meet them, Diana.”
