Princess Roshanne sat by the Vanity mirror staring at her complexion, there was a certain glow in her that she hadn't seen for a while... She brushes her hair and smiled, remembering what had happened that afternoon. Dae surely has a lovely voice, and she wishes to hear it again soon, her eyes then went to the candle that was placed on her dresser... Yes she kept it... Because she wanted to use it again on Dae... She thinks she prefers to use it now more than that golden phallus she has. She licks her lower lip and reach for the candle, she wrapped her hand around it and for a moment she felt it was warm... Like the inside of Dae.... Her face heats up at having to remember what had happened... And was surprised to realize she was blushing.... She was feeling excited at the thought of her next meeting with Dae.... And she doesn't know if it because of the idea that she get to see her writhing underneath her helplessly again, or because she wanted to use the candle again.
though she was quite annoyed at herself for loosing control over the situation, it shouldn't have ended like that... Tsk... She furrowed her eyebrow, she wasn't able to discuss with her what she she wanted to discuss. And that she becoming a spy for her against Lord Titus. She needs that man out of her court, and his sons. She doesn't feel at ease around that man, it's like he's hiding something. She must keep a close eyes on him.
Her train of thoughts of were rudely interrupted when the door of her room burst open... And came in a very drunken Kaspian.
"My prince! Please! This unbecoming of you... You shouldn't trespass in the princess room!" Odette along with several knights tried to pull back Kaspian from going at her.
" You bitch!!! How dare you!" He screams at her... Roshanne raised her brow, she placed the brush down before standing up to face... She noticed how the knights avoid their gaze, she's wearing her night gown and was ready for sleep, the knights shouldn't see her like this... They were torn apart by the idea of which they should do first, turn around and leave or stop the Prince.
" Good evening to you too." She greeted him, she didn't flinch when he advanced towards her.
" You're marrying that bastard?! Why him?!" He screams... Roshanne turns her head to the side... He reeks of cheap beer.
" Stay away from Prince... I suggest you compose yourself before speaking to me." This infuriated him more, he grits his teeth and clench his fist.
" Quit acting all high and mighty on me you bitch! We both know your nothing like the saint they believe you to be!" Roshanne brow furrowed.
" Your highness please, leave the princess alone." One of the knight begged him.
" SHUT UP!" He screams.
" This whore over here has the audacity to decline me! ME! THE CROWN FUCKING PRINCE! ARE YOU INSULTING ME?!" He screams again at her face... This made her jaw clench.
" Yes! I am insulting you! Who do you think you are?! For you to demand my hand in marriage?! Do you think I'd marry you! You are nothing compared to me! You are but a worm forcing yourself into this place!" She screams taking him by surprise, Roshanne used that chance to shoved him, he feel down on his butt, but he was to shock to even react... She placed her foot in his stomach pressing harder making him wince.
" You don't deserve me Kaspian! You don't deserve to be my side!!! You don't belong here." She told him, as she continue to press harder making him groan in pain.
" But do you know where you belong?" She asked him, taunting him... Her remained glaring at her.
" You belong there, on the ground underneath me like a worm squirming... Because that's what you are." After saying that she removes her feet from his stomach.
" Take that idiot to his room." She commanded. And the knights did, helping him to his feet.
" I'll fucking make you regret this bitch! I swear to the Gods!" He screams making her roll her eyes.
" The Gods won't listen to you." She told him before turning her back on him. When she heard the door close only then did she release a breath of relief... Her mood had gone sour now.
"Are you alright your highness?" Odette asked her... She nods her head and sat back down in front of her Vanity mirror.
"He's so obsessed with me and I don't know why." She told Odette... It wasn't a secret, everyone knows about Kaspian infatuation about her... Ever since her father brought him to the castle he was so... Obsessed with her... Before then when Khalil was alive he would follow her around like a lost puppy, shower her with gifts and such... She ignores him in hopes that he will stop... But it only got worst. Gods what pain in the neck.
"Would you like some tea?" Odette offered... But Roshanne shakes her head.
"No... But I need to take a walk." She told her before standing up... She pick up her robe and made her way out, she needs to clear her mind... To plan about her next steps... What to do? She thought, Margaret was unsuccessful at getting the support of the Duchess supreme, the woman basically gave them a cold shoulder... If she wasn't just a powerful figure she would have torched her little dukedom, her options are now left to the Princess Royal, her father's youngest sister, then of course Marchioness Eufreme, lady Meera, and Viscount Nilus... Those four could turn the tide if she ever choose to get the throne by force... The rest of the nobles... Well she could purge them... Remove them from powers... She had no use of them.
"Couldn't sleep?" She tensed when she heard an unfamiliar voice, she quickly turns around to see who it was. And to her surprise she saw lord Marcus.
"My lord... You surprised me." She told him... What was he doing outside? She thought, she looks around to see if there were any guards. but there where none... She had realized that it was the changing shift.
"Forgive me... I did not mean to scare you." He told her before looking up.
"It's okay.... What are you doing here?" She asked him, making sure there was enough space between them in case he did something funny.
" I couldn't sleep.... I find it hard sleeping in unfamiliar places, especially the home of my enemies." His eyes then met hers... She squinted her eyes at him.
"Rest assured that nothing will happen to you... You are our guest, and we treat our guest with hospitality." She told him and was ready to leave him be. But he spoke again.
"How was my little sister?" She tilts her head to the side.
"Fine." Was her short reply.
"She is well treated here more than she is treated in your kingdom." Lord Marcus Humms. She looks up at the clear sky. While Roshanne remained looking at him.
"Do you need something?" She inquires again. He looks back at her but this time she didn't like it, she didn't like how his eyes studied her from head to toe. Nor the way it lingers to her chest. What a detestable man... He may look like a proper prince but he is still a pig.
"I came with a proposal." He told her. Roshanne brow raised.
"What proposal?" She asked, Lord Marcus cleared his throat.
"A marriage." She laughed at hearing that... What is it with men and their obsession with her?
"I appreciate the effort my lord... But I will decline, I am already betrothed." She saw how his face contorted in disgust.
"So it was true... You do marry into your own blood." She Chuckle at his reaction.
"And who are you to judge? Considering you are a married man yourself" She asked him.
"What benefits does it give you? Marrying your own when you could marry me... I could make you the queen of Lysos... My-" She didn't let him finish.
"You mean you would make me the lady of Lysos, and a mistress... You are no longer a kingdom my lord, and again you are married." She reminded him, she looks up when she a sudden cold wind gushes, and it was just in time to see Wildfyre returning from the hunt. She looks back at Lord Marcus.
"We could make a great alliance, tie our houses together... We would make a stronger kingdom." Her eyebrow furrowed at him... Sure the kingdom of Lysos produces well known warriors praised for their mastery in sword, they are brave men not afraid of risking their own lives, they fought valiantly and would rather kill themselves than surrender... But still Lysos is small compared to the other kingdom... She will have no use of it...
"I can do that on my own." She told him, before turning around.
"If that's what you think so... But still princess... My offer will not change, reach out to me when you change your mind." He told her, Roshanne didn't answer and continued walking, he was weird she thought, but she knows he is someone that she shouldn't be underestimating.
By the time she had stopped walking she found herself in her mother's garden in front of the great fountain where the deceased Princess Regina's statue was... Roshanne found herself staring at the woman she had admired. She couldn't remember much about her... She was still young when she last see her... But she remembers the woman adoring her... She would visit her at her father's villa where she was raised, she remembers that woman reading some books to her and teaching her news things... Ever since she was a kid... She aspire to be her... T'was sad though that the woman didn't get to live long.
"Regina?" Roshanne looks to her side and saw her mother... Again... She sighed when she noticed her night gown being dirty, her hair being in a tangled mess... And her feet dirty.
"Oh... It's you." Her mother said, you? She couldn't even say her name.
"Yes mother... What are you doing out so late." She inquires, she didn't move and let the woman approach her.
"I am looking for your brother... It's time for him to take his medicine, he had been avoiding it for the past five days because it was bitter." She bit her lower lip, she didn't know what kind of sickness Khalil has... She didn't get to meet him till she was eleven.
"Did he have a fever again?" She asked going along with her mother.
"He did... He fell ill again... If I don't get him to drink his medicine your father will shout at me again." Her mother said while looking around, Roshanne stared at her mother... She was different from the way she used to be... Back then she was a woman who's firm, elegant and beautiful... She was smart and cold to her. Her mother often stared at her with the look of indifference and disappointment. She hated it. but now... Now her mother is reduced to something else... A weak woman...
"You know she looks like you." Her mother said out of nowhere making her look at her... She was staring at the statue of the princess with a gentle smile... Something that was rare for her to see when she was still well.
"What?" She asked again.
"Her... Princess Regine... You and her are very much alike." She didn't speak, no that can't be. She looks nothing like her.
"But that's a lie." Roshanne brow furrowed when her mother spoke again.
"You just looks like her because she looks like your father... But you on the other hand... Is your father's daughter." She stated with a smile again... Her eyebrow furrowed, no! She didn't look like that old man!
" Yes... He had the same look when I told him that. When you were born I cried in relief because it was an easy birth... You didn't come out with a fuss. The first thing I noted about you is how you got your father's nose." Roshanne subconsciously reach to touch her nose... Did she?
" Yes... You got his nose, then his eyebrow and the shape of his eyes... you look like him when he was young." Her mother said with a smile.
" The only thing you resembles to the late princess was her lips." Her mother said again. Roshanne remained quiet, and when she does her mother looked at her... At first she looks happy, and then the longer she looks at her the more sadder she gets.
"I tried to make him see it... I told him you look like him and not his sister. But he won't believe me. There were days where I was wishful... Wishing for you to be a boy instead, so your father would believe me, so he would love you... But then I was glad that you didn't turn to be one... Because I know I will never be able to accept you... You will remind me more of him." Her mother added... Maybe that's why she hated her? Because every time she looks at her she sees her father... Well Khalil was exactly like her mother, he got his looks from her.
"He told me you reminded him of her...looks like her ghost was hunting him... She won't leave him alone... She won't leave us alone." Roshanne got confused by her mothers word, what does she mean by that?
"What do you mean by that?" Her mother stared at her like she had seen a ghost, then it was gone, it was suddenly replaced by worry.
"Have you seen him?" She asked again, her shoulder slacking when her mother began her search for her dead son again.
"He was just around here... Khalil?! Khalil? Come out my son... It's time for you to drink your medicine." Roshanne didn't even stop her when she walked away, her maids will find her soon enough. She returns her gaze towards the princess statue... She will be queen... She will make sure of it. She swear it on her life.
She then looked at her mother's disappearing form... She will have to execute her next step... And that is killing her own mother, to set everything.
