~Chapter 22: Never Peaceful

Karta's POV

I thought I would be used to the commotion in this shit hole but I guess not. Every day starts with all the wolves training. But since the dickhead who is my mate is sulking he's been staying here. Maybe it's unhealthy to feel like this but it feels like a prison, 20 weeks passed fast. The babies are healthy but my body continues to change by the day. Along with the obvious maternal changes there has been several abnormal ones. My skin is no longer pale but an olive color and my eyes are losing their red and are slowly receding back into their original midnight blue. Haidel has been doting on me but sulking at the same time.

"Karta!"

I sighed and closed the window, "I closed the window! Leave me alone!" I yelled down to him. Ever since my body started changing he's been worried about me catching a chill. It feels strange, being worried about, I haven't felt it since my mother died.

"I didn't mean close the window; we have a guest" Haidel spoke through our mind link and I grumbled, I didn't feel like entertaining any of his friends today. Still... I went downstairs but to my surprise it wasn't one of his friends.

"Michele?" I asked shocked as my vampire creator stood in the living room.

He looked at me and took in my appearance, which was basically a pregnant bum. My hair was messy and growing too long and I was in one of Haidel's hoodies because my clothes don't fit.

"Wow... you really look like her" he smiled and closed his eyes.

"I have something important to tell you" he announced as he sat down.

I nodded and sat as well, "I'm sure you know but I'm no longer one of your sires Michele". He nodded, "yes I felt the bond break; but that is not what I need to infer about".

Haidel sat down opposite of me and inquired, "what is it ? That Duke Romanov needs to come all this way?"

"Karta..."he started, "your mother, the one you know of...alas is not your real mother."

I stared at him, "w-what do you mean?"

"She is a human I trusted and left you with when you were born. You are a forbidden existence"

I just continued to stare at him, "you're joking right ? You're saying you're—"

"I'm your father yes" he cut me off, "and your mother was a princess of the elves"

"Now I know you're bullshitting me, elves and vampires can't have kids" I scoffed; I'm not that stupid.

"You are the first and only of your kind. Your DNA is of an Elf and Vampire. I thought you might be human since you presented with none of the powers before I turned you; but alas..." he pointed to my chest, "the two hearts in your chest proves your royal elf bloodline, only elf royalty has been said to have two hearts"

I have two hearts? I looked at Haidel and he looked shocked, "he's right...your body has 6 heart beats....that means our children are part elf as well?" We both looked at Michele inquisitively, "your existence is not natural, I fought to keep you alive. But I'm afraid....your existence has been revealed. The elves have declared war on the coven. You must hide; both you and your mate....."

I couldn't process what he was saying, War? My Existence is forbidden? What does this mean?!

As I was beginning to hyperventilate Haidel took me in his arms. "I might not be the best but I will protect you with my life...."

Michele nodded, "War is Coming"
