you get scolded for being too playful on set - ITZY sixth member (requested)

Standing on the set of the newest ITZY video, your mouth opened as a yawn escaped past your lips.

It's almost nine am and you're feeling pretty tired considering you and the girls have been filming for the last few hours.

You got up bright and early to film and that's nothing unusual when preparing for comebacks.

You could see that your members were starting to feel the lack of sleep catching up to them as well as they yawned or closed their eyes for a few seconds longer than they probably should've.

The girls always say you're the big moodmaker of the group and the fans always refer to you as the biggest ray of sunshine ever so you decided that you'd try and be a little playful with them so they'd cheer up and be more awake.

After all, you still have several hours left on set and it's always hard to push through when you're so exhausted.

"Are we ready?" The director called out.

"Ready," Yeji replied as the six of you stood beside each other.

For this part of the video, you'll just be walking.

Seeing it as the perfect opportunity to be a little playful and bring a smile to everyone's faces, as the cameras began rolling and you all began walking, you began to goof around.

You threw your arms around Ryujin and Lia for a few seconds, just smiling and hugging them tightly.

It was so simple but made them laugh pretty loudly because you almost ended up falling.

"Cut!" The director yelled out. "Places, girls. Let's try that again."

You all took your places to film the scene over again but just as the director was about to yell action, you stood in front of your members and began to make some silly faces into the camera.

They all burst into giggles... but they were the only ones laughing.

The manager was watching on and to say he was angry about you ruining the scene two times in a row was quite the understatement.

"Stop! Come on, we have to film. Do it as planned."

Although it did make your heart sink a little because all you'd been trying to do was make your members smile and wake up a little, you brushed it off.

But you weren't done.

As the camera started to roll again, you jumped on Yeji's back and she giggled before reaching back to wrap her arms around you and planned to give you a piggyback ride.

But your fun was cut short by the manager storming over.

"Enough! Get off of Yeji!"

His tone of voice was pretty harsh so you got off of her back and stood in between the girls again.

"You are being a pain today! This is not the time for fun, it is the time for work! You have a big comeback around the corner. Doesn't that mean anything to you? Your members are ready to work hard but you keep messing around. That is immature and annoying! Stop goofing around. Stay focused and do what we planned for the video!"

He stormed back off and you could feel the girls' eyes on you.

They couldn't believe how he'd spoken to you and they were worried about you but also very upset with the manager.

You were quiet after that.

So quiet that the girls found it a little uncomfortable.

As you sat down to take a few sips of water, Yeji and Yuna sat down beside you.

"Are you okay?" Yuna asked.

You just nodded your head.

"Don't be so quiet. We miss your voice and your laugh." Chaeryeong said as she, Lia, and Ryujin sat down too.

"We know why you did all of that and we appreciate it. Sometimes that exhaustion and lack of sleep catches up to you and you zone out a little." Lia said.

You didn't say anything, the silence filled the air.

"Alright, I'm pissed now!" Yeji said as she slammed her hands down. "You were only trying to cheer us up and make us feel better so we could work well and you got scolded for that. That's unfair! Besides, a lot of what was said was extremely unnecessary."

"Don't even get me started on that. God, I couldn't believe how he spoke to you!" Ryujin whispered as she glared at the manager. "Jerk."

"I'm going to give him a piece of my mind," Yeji grumbled and went to get up, only for you to take her hand.

"Don't. Please."

She looked at you and then at the manager across the room before gazing back at you to see the look of sadness and tiredness in your eyes.

"Okay."

"Hey, we're going to get a little air. You two stay here, have a moment together." Lia said before winking at Yeji, who just shook her head with a smile.

"I'm sorry."

Yeji turned her head to look at you again but the usual soft gaze she tends to look at you with wasn't there.

Instead, she looked confused and perhaps a little upset at you saying sorry to her.

"Don't be sorry. You don't have anything to apologize for."

"I know I tend to be playful sometimes. I know that at times that's probably annoying and the timing might be bad but-"

"Y/N, stop," She whispered before brushing her hand along your back. "We love you and we love your playfulness. We love how you always try to brighten our moods and make us feel better and we love how you goof around. Sometimes all of this can be a little stressful and you make that so much easier on us."

"You mean it?"

"Of course I do. ITZY wouldn't be ITZY without you and how amazing you are."

You cracked a smile as she squeezed your shoulder.

"I'm going to be having a word with JYP about this because that wasn't right. He went too far."

Her smile made your heart skip a beat and her touch, much like her words, brought you comfort.

"We're here for you. Always remember that we love you and we love how playful you are. You are the sunshine on our darkest days and you make everything easy and better when things are hard. Thank you for cheering us up."

"Thank you for cheering me up and for comforting me. It just hurt my feelings to be scolded like that."

"That's understandable. We felt the same way seeing you get scolded like that. You didn't deserve it; you'd never deserve it." She said before squeezing your hand.

You gazed into her eyes and just as she parted her lips to speak again, the girls returned with the manager behind them.

"Time to get back to work."

You and Yeji nodded before standing up.

"No playing around. Focus on working." The manager practically demanded.

Yeji clenched her jaw angrily and went to snap at him as he turned around to walk away.

"Don't. He's not worth it. We'll just talk to JYP and try to get through this day until then." Ryujin said.

Yeji sighed but nodded and when Ryujin let her go, you threw your arms around her.

"Thank you."

"Anything for you," Yeji whispered as she wrapped her arms around you.

The girls joined in on the hug and you all laughed though yours brought them the most joy, as always.

"We love you, Y/N," Yuna whispered.

"Thank you for always cheering us up." Lia grinned.

And you just held them tighter.

Because you couldn't imagine your life without being in ITZY or being with the girls every second of every day.

Getting scolded might be worthwhile sometimes if it means getting hugged like this and knowing that your playfulness made them feel better, just as you hoped it would.
