Chapter 1

Silver Divinity's school for Doms and Subs

Todays the day, the day i get to finally find my role in vampire society. My name is Lilith Moonstone. Today is the last day of my senior year, finally old enough to not call myself a baby bat and educated enough to be on my own. Yet i don't quite feel like an adult. As i drag myself out of my coffin i think of what i aspire to be for the rest of my immortal life. I can faintly hear my parents talking amongst themselves in their bedroom. As a kid my parents being in the room right next to mine was a wonderful thing. These days though...i wish i was further away.

"I just can't believe our babies are old enough to leave home, I wish they could be children just a few more years Vlad." My mothers warm tone was wavering, she was crying. My mother was always a storm of emotions. Today was no difference. "I know Maria but it's not like they will be gone forever. We both know both Lilith and Lazarus will visit us often. If they get the roles they both have wanted they will be home with us tonight, celebrating." My father, always the voice of reasoning. A strong man, until his beautiful wife was crying. "I hope your right my love, can you take care of Lazarus and ill get Lilith ready? ill meet you downstairs for breakfast." There was a sniffle then a deep breath. "brave faces, we've got this Maria."

I quickly shifted to my closet across from my coffin. I've gotten into trouble eves dropping too many times, if i act busy my parents never know i was listening. My door slowly creaked open. "Lilith baby, are you awake and decent?" "Yes mama, I'm trying to find the dress papa put in here for today." She quickly shuffled inside, taking her place right next to me. "hmm...i think it was at the bottom right. Your father hid it so you wouldn't peak before your special day." i giggled to myself getting down on all fours to drag the box out. A simple white box with the family emblem on the top. i opened the lid to see a neatly placed note.

"This gown is for you our little rosebud, we are so proud to call you our daughter and the one to carry on the moonstone legacy. I hope you feel confident and radiant in this lace ensemble we picked for you. Please remember we will be pleased no matter where the role placement takes you. Your loving parents, Maria and Vlad Moonstone." as i read the letter i heard my mother calmly say. "go ahead and put it on, ill meet you downstairs for breakfast." she gave me a pat on my head before making her way out of my room and down the stairs. I slowly pulled the dress out of the box and held it up to myself in the mirror.

A very beautiful dress, covered in a satin scarlet fabric. underneath they're were layers of black lace. The sleeves came down into bat wings. Looking back down at the box there was a small black corset and a folded bright red ribbon along with some black thigh highs. There was also a smaller box, this one had a brand name on it. My mother always focused on accessories, i can bet she was the one to pick it out. As i put on the dress i remembered photos of my mother wearing a very similar dress to her ceremony. My mama and papa met where they were placed for there role choosing, Silver Divinity's school for Dom's and Sub's. My father had a place in vampire high society being a pure blood and all, while my mother only half vampire, became a home maker and his perfect submissive. Watching them live happily proves to me that the role choosing is perfect.

The finishing touches were placed, A choker in the same color as the dress and red batwing clips to match the ribbon tied around my waist. I tied my knee length black wavy hair into buns placing the clips on top of the buns. I felt prepossessing, my pale and bright red eyes made me a sight for sore eyes. The genetic lottery, i was lucky to have a pure blood father and a half blooded mother. Sure i wasn't blessed with many superhuman abilities but i was blessed with beauty no doubt.

My mother calling me from downstairs brought me out of my own head. "Lilith, Lazarus, come on kids, we're gonna be late!" My mother always the worry wart. As i swung the door open i could see a very grumpy Lazarus at the end of the hallway heading down the stairs. "I hate getting up this early..." my brother was in a tux, adorned with the family crest on the back. his hair tied neatly into a low ponytail. His hair the same color and same wavy texture as mine. His skin the same color, even our birthmark was in the same place on the right side of our neck. Namely my Grandmother Ena a human woman turned vampire. Her bite will be passed down from child to child until it slowly fades.

I was now at the bottom of the stairs walking towards the kitchen. The smell of fresh brewed coffee, Toast, and a metallic smell that no vampire could mistake. I sat in my normal chair, across from my mother. "You look so beautiful Lil, ohhh how you kids grow up so fast." My father had a gushy face, something you wouldn't expect from a pure blood vampire. My Father definitely looks like your stereotypical vampire, salt and pepper slicked back hair with a pointy goatee. He was always in formal attire, looking like he just came from the office. He had frown lines, and was a bit on the skinny side. My mom on the other hand, had shoulder length black hair that fell into ringlets, her eyes were wide and you could see the start of crows feet at the corner of her eyes. Her smile never failed to brighten the room.

A plate with two pieces of toast, a cup of hot coffee, and a cup of blood. My mouth watered just looking at it. I quickly grabbed the glass and began chugging it. "Lilith Moonstone!" My mother all but yelled from across the table. I quickly swallowed down the last few drops and set the empty glass back onto the table. I felt energized and almost high. "What have we told you about downing blood like that Lilith!? You could have choked! If you were that thirsty you should have asked for some before bed! God i hope whoever you end up marrying gets you to stop doing that." I giggled lapping the rest of the blood from the corners of my mouth. Although vampires still drink blood were considered more civilized these days, taking donations from humans instead of feeding directly off them. Blood from bags can only give us small highs, nothing like drinking it straight from the source.

I remember the first and last time i drank from a human, i was no older then 6. My family was on vacation at a campsite. Vampires awaken when they are 5, i was a late bloomer. Still am, i have only developed one of my three vampire powers, and i still required multiple feedings along with pain in my fangs. I had a "gross" teething habit my mom hated. Ruining all my long sleeve shirts teething on them, leaving tiny bite holes all over it. I was now slowly drinking and eating the rest of my breakfast peering at my twin brother from the corner of my eye. "What are you staring at?"

"oh nothing, just my wittle brother." Lazarus scuffed at that. "Your the big baby, still need your sippy cup and pull ups?" he said in a mocking baby voice. I pouted sticking my tongue out at him. "see what i mean?" he pointed at me looking at my mother and father. I quickly took the heel of my foot and jabbed it into the top of his. He groaned grabbing his foot from under the table. "Stop hurting your brother Lilith and put on your shoes." I stuck my tongue out again as i walked to the door to put my shoes on. Comfy marry janes that fit my feet like a glove, i quickly swung my purse over my shoulder. "I'm ready to go mama, papa."

They both smiled at me as Lazarus pulled his shoes on, a pair of loafers. Formal attire was what everyone wore to these ceremonies. We were presenting ourselves as the future of Senvora and of the vampiric high society. "I heard the prince is going to be there, so be on your best behavior sis. I cant have you clouding the moonstone family name." He spoke with venom. It kind of hurt, i know my brother was always embarrassed of me but my mother and father were proud of me. "You don't have to worry, I'm probably gonna steer clear of people anyway. but thanks for letting me know how you feel about me. I love you even if you hate me. were siblings...were siblings that came from the same mother only seconds after each other. Hopefully i get a good role so you'll be proud of me too." for a second and only a second, i saw regret pass over my brothers face.

"lets just go, Mom and dad, were ready to go when you are." i said feeling the confidence i had seconds ago completely diminish. i was back to feeling anxious and nervous about my fate. We all loaded into the car, a hatchback my father passed to my mother after she had us kids. The trip there would take about 20 minutes, i watched out the window seeing our little 2 story house slowly disappear and the woods surrounding it envelope us.
