Chapter 1628
The Divorced Billionaire Heiress
Chapter 1628 Manipulative and Scheming Man
Nicole and Clayton were dumbfounded.
Claytonâs face darkened.
He was annoyed and he looked away. âI shouldnât be calculative with a kidâ¦â
Clayton just squeezed Nicoleâs palm to express his dissatisfaction.
Nicole laughed lightly. âWhy would I break up with him?â
âThis guy looks even weaker than before, as if he can just drop dead at any time. You should be with
someone a little healthier, that can live longerâ¦â
The corner of Claytonâs eyes twitched. He was speechless.
Nicole let out a laugh. âDonât worry. Heâll live long enough. Heâs just not feeling well recently.â
Hayley nodded superficially and still had her doubts.
Soon after, Hayley smiled and spoke.
âDo you want me to be your guide? Iâm very familiar with this place, so I know whatâs nice here!â
Nicole was just about to refuse when Clayton, who was on the side, could not help but speak up.
âSorry, Iâm not feeling too well. Iâm afraid that I canât walk too farâ¦â
Hayley did not conceal her disgusted gaze as she sized him up. âSo what if heâs good-looking? He
looks like a sick chicken
Nicole quickly and nervously took his arm.
âYou donât feel well? Do you want to take a rest? Or do you want to go straight to the hospital?â
Clayton smiled and patted her hand. âIâm just a little tired. It doesnât matter. Letâs go later?â
Of course, Nicole would not refuse.
Nicole turned around and said goodbye to Hayley. She then pulled Clayton into a cafe across the
street.
Hayley stood there with her arms folded. She shook her head.â What a manipulative scheming manâ¦
Hmph! I could see through it at a glance!â
In the cafe, Clayton sat there, looked out the window, and breathed a sigh of relief.
It was great to finally have some peace.
Nicole saw that Claytonâs face did not change and believed that he was just tired.
The waiter came over. âExcuse me, what would you like to order?â
Nicole looked at him. âSparkling water for him and a mocha for me please.â
âSure, please wait a moment.â
Nicole smiled and looked at him. âYou donât need to go to the hospital?â
Clayton raised his eyebrows. âNo need. Iâll be fine soon.â
He saw that Hayley had left and went back to her group of classmates.
Nicole saw through Claytonâs thoughts and could not help but laugh a little.
âIf you donât want her to be our guide, just say so. I was going t o refuse anyway.â
Clayton paused. His warm face blushed a little.
âI just think that sheâs too loud.â
The two of them finished their drinks and continued to walk. They looked around at the youthful smiles
and became more relaxed.
Nicole could not help but sigh. âItâs nice to be young!â
Clayton paused and looked at her with unblinking eyes.â Youâre perfect like this.â
Even if others were young, they were not Nicole.
The Nicole in front of him was unrivaled in the world.
Nicole smiled with curved eyes. Half of her body was lying on Clayton, but Clayton did not feel any
weight. He just felt like h e was dragging a small child along.
They were very happy.
When they were tired of walking, they took a break.
Nicole looked at the road in front and suddenly spoke.
âAngieâs out. Sheâll be extradited to Southeast Asia.â
Clayton paused for a moment, pursed his lips, and said, âDo you hate her?â
Nicole shook her head. âIt has nothing to do with her. In fact, when I was taken, Caleb took care of me.
At least, he didnât really treat me as a hostage. Itâs just that when he learned that the deal fell through,
he made a reasonable move.â
This reasonable move was to eliminate the hostage.
There was a moment of silence.
Those gloomy and boring days seemed to surface again.
Nicole spoke softly, âI didnât know that some people are living such a horrible life. They donât treat
people as human beings, and theyâre extraordinarily desensitized to the misery of their companions. I
told you about those women before.â
