Chapter 1816 Who Are You Again?

After Nicole finished speaking, she pushed Clayton away and ran past him with her head down.

Clayton froze in place for a long time.

He had not yet returned to his senses.

After a long time, Clayton slowly turned around and saw Nicole walk back again from the opposite side

in confusion.

Nicole stopped a few meters away from him.

Her eyes were watery and delicate, making her look so pitiful. “Why am I in the hospital? And who are

you?”

Clayton’s lips were pressed into a straight line.

His voice was a bit hoarse as he carefully probed.

“You don’t remember me?”

Nicole pursed her lips. She looked very innocent, and she wanted to size him up again.

She was very satisfied with his looks, but she could not make it seem like she was desperate for

men.

He let out a low chuckle and looked at Nicole, then said in a deep voice, “What a heartless little one…”

Nicole pursed her lips and snorted coldly.

“If you don’t wanna tell me, I’ll look for them myself!”

Nicole did not believe that Floyd and her brothers would just leave her here.

She was just about to walk past Clayton to leave when he pulled her next door.

Clayton held her arm with one hand.

She was so thin.

Her pregnancy weight was gone these days.

At the thought of this, the sadness in Clayton’s heart was swept away. All that was left was heartache

for Nicole.

Nicole was only in danger because she gave birth to their baby.

How could he blame her for forgetting him?

Nicole certainly did not do it on purpose.

At that thought, Clayton’s tone softened.

“I’ll find them for you. You should just wait in the room, okay?”

Nicole hesitated. “Why should I trust you?”

Clayton smiled warmly. “Do I look like a bad person?”

Nicole wanted to nod her head, but somehow, she shook her head instead.

Clayton’s smile deepened.

“Go on in. They’ll be here soon.”

Nicole did not want to run around like a headless chicken, so she had no choice but to believe the man

in front of her.

She believed him because of his handsome face.

Clayton watched as she went in obediently.

The smile at the corner of his mouth slowly converged.

Afterward, he lowered his eyes and took out his phone to call the doctors, telling them that Nicole was

awake.

Then, Clayton called Kai.

Kai, who had agreed not to leave and keep watch for Clayton, was in the hospital’s conference room

for an important video conference.

So many things in the company needed to be decided. Grant was busy taking care of Aida, and Floyd

had to take care of Nicole’s baby, so Kai had to step up.

Fortunately, Grant promised to start taking over the company’s affairs as soon as Aida’s health

improved.

Otherwise, Kai could not take it anymore.

As soon as Kai received Clayton’s call, he rushed over.

Kai knew that if Floyd found out, Floyd would have skinned him alive.

“Brother-in-law, where’s my sister?”

“She’s inside. The doctor is giving her a checkup.”

Kai sighed in relief. He straightened his clothes and walked in.

He froze for a moment.

“Are you so happy that you don’t know what to do? Why are you sitting outside?”
