Selena was not cautious or pretentious like the other rich young ladies.

She always spoke faster than she could think. Eric thought to himself, ‘Selena is truly an oddball

among the women I know. She’s so naive and stupid.’

However, he did not say it out loud. If Selena could read his mind, she would probably splash a glass of

wine on his face.

Eric’s heart tightened, and he felt that it was better to focus on the bigger picture.

He was patient and sincere as he advised her, “There are dresses upstairs. Go and change.”

Not everyone could enjoy this kind of treatment.

Eric was just afraid that others would look down on Selena. He was not looking down on her.

If he had known that Selena was unprepared, he would have asked Mitchell to bring her dress

shopping before coming over.

On such an occasion, Selena’s dress was somewhat unacceptable. Selena frowned and looked at him

with disgust.

“I don’t wear other people’s clothes.”

“Nobody wore them before.”

The big brand names sent them. Even if there were no women in the Ferguson household, the brands

still sent some women's clothes over.

After all, the money Ferguson Corporation spent on customer visits throughout the year was more than

enough for the brands to deliver the best things to them.

Selena was unaware of this. Countless thoughts flashed through her mind before she said bluntly, “No

one wore them before? You collect women’s clothes?! I didn't know you had such a weird Hobby...”

After she said this, there was a moment of silence in the air.

Eric gave her a deep look that was filled with hopelessness. His jaw clenched as he resisted the urge

to scold her. Then, he turned around and left.

Selena was speechless.

Anyway, Selena did not come here to join a beauty pageant. She was also not interested in getting into

a circle that did not belong to her. Thus, she did not have to wear an expensive dress to pleaseothers.

She knew that even if she wore the most expensive clothes, others would not look up to her.

Selena took a drink and glanced at her surroundings.

This villa was large, quiet, and lavishly decorated.

The yard was decorated with lots of things that the children liked.

Selena looked over and saw Chance among a group of children.

As soon as Selena was about to walk over, Cindy politely said goodbye to the friend she was talking

with and stopped Selena in her footsteps.

Selena looked at Cindy impatiently.

“What's the matter, Ms. Yeager?”

“ I didn’t expect you to come like this...”

Cindy sized her up. She did not even expect Selena to come.

Selena raised her eyebrows. “There are many things you didn’t expect, Ms. Yeager.”

Cindy smiled and did not care about Selena’s attitude. After all, the two of them had a fallout, and they

both knew what each other wanted.

At that moment, they only maintained superficial politeness in front of outsiders.

“Didn't I make myself clear enough last time? Is it fun insisting on squeezing into a world that doesn’t

belong to you?”

Cindy had a smile on her face, but it did not reach her eyes.

Instead, she exuded a gloomy and cold air.

Selena was really annoyed at how obsessed these two women were with Eric.

Was that b*stard really that great?

Besides being rich, did Eric have any advantage?

Selena rolled her eyes irritably. “No. I’m leaving now."

She snorted coldly, turned around, and was about to leave.

However, she accidentally stepped on the carpet. Her high heels got caught on the sides of the carpet

and made her stagger.

The man next to her quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace.

Thus, she was lucky that she did not fall.

Just as Selena was about to thank the person, she saw Eric’s face and swallowed those words of

gratitude.

Selena would rather fall!

Eric frowned. His face darkened as he said, “Be careful. Why are you in such a rush?”

Selena pursed her lips, stood up straight, and immediately distanced herself from him as if she was

afraid of catching cooties. It was like she saw a ghost.

Eric did not notice her expression. He smoothed his clothes and glanced at Cindy.

“What were you ladies talking about? Why are you leaving?”

Eric did not know what Cindy and Selena had to talk about.

Cindy’s face froze. She did not know how much Eric had heard andwas thinking about how to smooth

things over.

As a result, Selena did not leave as she intended to. Instead, she covered her face aggrievedly and

leaned on Eric’s shoulder.

“Ms. Yeager said that I’m not welcome here and told me to leave. I don’t know how I offended her. If I’d

known that I wasn’t allowed to come, I wouldn’t have come. I didn’t really want to come in the first

place...”

Eric was shocked. His whole body was tense as he looked deeply at the woman leaning on him.

His breathing was slightly heavier.

Eric did not push Selena away, and his expression was inexplicably complicated and deep.

He obviously hated women touching him, but he did not react strongly or push Selena away.

Selena pretended to cry until she felt that she could not cry anymore. Then, she wiped the corners of

her eyes in embarrassment and stood there quietly, ready to face Eric’s wrath.She thought, ‘Forget it.

Anyway, Selena gave it her all. She intended to piss off Cindy, but what if Eric was pissed off instead?

On the other hand, Cindy looked at the pair in shock and stared at

Selena with a glum expression.

Cindy thought, ‘How dare she use such tricks to seduce Eric right under my nose?! Is Selena claiming

Eric?’

For the first time, Cindy could not control herself. Her shoulders began to tremble slightly.

“You're such a fake b*tch! Do you think anyone will believe you?”

Cindy did not expect Selena to make such a move. She thought, ‘I knew Selena isn’t as honest as she

looks! She’s such a fake b*tch! Damn it! Eric didn’t even push her away!’

Cindy could not accept this.

Selena said confidently, “I’m not as fake as you! Do you dare say that you didn’t come to drive me

away?”

Cindy's face was glum.

The air was icy.

Eric finally spoke from the side.

“That’s enough.”

His eyes were cold as he glanced at Cindy. He seemed to believe Selena, so he said crudely, “Ms.

Yeager, this is my villa. Today is my son’s birthday party, and you’re just a guest. You’re not the host, so

I hope you know your place. You don’t have the right to kick out my guests.”

Cindy was furious. Her face darkened instantly, and she looked shocked.

“Mr. Ferguson, how can you believe her?!”

At this moment, she seemed to panic.

For the first time, Cindy felt a sense of crisis because Eric believed

Selena without even asking.

It felt as if Selena had stepped over her head.

How could someone like Selena step over her?

Selena did not expect Eric to believe her.

She looked over in shock at Eric’s bright, smooth, stern, cold,

indescribably noble, and indifferent side profile.

Eric was cold and blunt as he said, “If you need to watch the surveillance footage to find out the truth, I

don't mind the trouble if you don’t mind, Ms. Yeager. I’m doing it for your family’s sake, so are you sure

she’s lying?”
