Chapter 2477
The Divorced Billionaire Heiress
Eric smiled slyly, but it was a fleeting moment.
Cindy was stunned for a moment.
Larry touched his forehead, gritted his teeth, and said, âOkay, in that case, weâll notify the bank
immediately and prepare the staff. Tomorrow morning, my people will go for the handover.â
Eric nodded and looked at the time.
âIn that case, letâs go back and prepare for it.â
Eric stood up.
Seeing this, Larry and Cindy did not keep him.
They left the table. When Eric walked out, he found that the people behind him had long since
disappeared.
Everyone at that table left.
His eyes dimmed slightly. Finally, he casually walked to the entrance of the restaurant.
Chance was already sitting inside the car, obediently doing the homework assigned by Eric.
Eric stood there. He was not in a hurry to get in the car. Instead, he looked at Chance with deep eyes
and paused slightly.
âDinnerâs over? Where did they go?â
Chance pursed his lips and did not want to say anything, but Chance could not lie under Ericâs cold
gaze.
âAunt Selena and Uncle Zach went to the movie theater.â âTheyâre watching a movie?â
Ericâs eyes instantly turned cold.
He had a playful smirk on his face as he thought, âHah! Are they really dating? First, dinner. Then, the
movies. Has this woman really found her next boyfriend? No wonder she didnât care about me or that
$10 million at all these days!â
Ericâs chest heaved.
The sky was dark, and the streetlamp cast an elongated shadow on the ground.
Standing there, Eric seemed to merge with the darkness behind him.
He was lonely, indifferent, and reserved.
The driver was waiting for Eric but did not dare to rush him.
Chance also noticed that Eric was in a bad mood. He looked up nervously and asked, âDaddy, donât
you want to get in the car?â
Eric pursed his thin lips tightly. His eyes were indifferent.
After a long time, he said in a deep voice, âAre they dating?â
Chance did not quite understand the meaning of dating until Chatty mentioned every day in school that
her parents were dating. She said that dating meant that two people were together.
That was what intimate people did.
Why was his dad unhappy?
Chance thought that Eric disliked Selena because they always quarrel every time they meet.
How rough!
Chance nodded obediently and said seriously, âUncle Zach is very nice to Aunt Selena. Theyâll get
married and have a baby. They also promised me that they will invite me to their wedding!â
Ericâs eyes were mocking and indifferent.
They were dark and bottomless.
He lowered his eyelashes and beckoned for Chance to get out of the car.
Chance did not understand what Eric wanted, but he obeyed anyway.
Standing in front of Eric, Chance looked up at him.
Eric stood there tall and straight, so Chance had to really look up to see Eric.
It was already late at night.
Chance just wanted to go back to sleep. After all, he had to go to school tomorrow.
However, Eric obviously did not intend to let Chance sleep.
Eric lowered his head, looked at Chanceâs innocent face with dark eyes, and asked word by word, âDo
you want Selena to be your mother?â
This question made the air seem stagnant.
Chance stood there in a daze and thought he had misheard.
However, Eric repeated it again.
Chance tightly shut his mouth and did not speak.
He heard it clearly, but he was shocked to the core.
After all, from what he knew, his dad did not like Aunt Selena at all.
Why did his dad bring this up all of a sudden?
The air was chilly, but neither father nor son realized it.
Eric became a little impatient. He saw Chanceâs struggle and thought that it was more unpleasant than
looking at the Yeagers just now.
At least, the Yeagers would not go against his will.
However, Chance was not as happy as Eric expected.
How strange.
For a while, Ericâs jaw tightened. His face was glum, and he said, âI will get married one day. So,
instead of choosing a well-matched but scheming woman to marry into the Ferguson family, itâs better
to choose one who is nice to you and that you donât hate. I think Selena is a suitable candidate. What
do you think?â
Eric seemed to be asking Chance for his opinion very patiently.
He even gave him a simple and clear analysis of the pros and cons.
It was obvious what the advantages were.
Cindy came from a well-matched family, but she was devious and scheming. She looked presentable
outside, but she would not stay still at home.
In the future, it was possible that Chance would not get a penny of the Ferguson familyâs property.
Eric was warning and reminding Chance that he had a share in the Ferguson family.
Moreover, Eric was also being considerate of him. Thus, Eric thought of having Chanceâs favorite Aunt
Selena be his wife in the future.
This way, what belonged to Chance in the Ferguson family would still be his.
There was no flaw in what Eric said.
Chance should be grateful at this time, but there was no joy on his face. All that remained was a bit of
fear and bewilderment.
Ericâs face darkened.
âWhy? You donât like her anymore?â
Chance fiddled with his fingers and seemed a little nervous.
âI like Aunt Selena very much, but I canât do this. Aunt Selena will be with Uncle Zach soon. She should
marry someone she likes instead of marrying you just to be my mommy. Itâs not fair to her.â
Chance raised his head and voiced his thoughts seriously.
His small face was tense as he looked at Eric nervously.
Chance also liked Aunt Nicole because Eric liked her.
However, Aunt Nicole had her own kid. Everytime Aunt Nicole looked at him, it was different from the
way she looked at Chatty and Fischer.
Only Aunt Selena would always have a kind and warm smile when she looked at him.
That joy was contagious.
However, Chance also knew that his dad liked Aunt Nicole, so it would be unfair to Aunt Selena if his
dad married her.
Thus, Chance could not bring himself to do this to Selena.
Eric took a deep breath and looked at Chance with deep eyes. His complexion became even worse.
Time froze for ten seconds.
The air felt a little colder.
Eric took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, lowered his eyelashes, and tried his best to suppress his
emotions.
âYouâre very thoughtful of Selena. I guess she didnât like you for nothing.â
Chance was nothing like Eric or Angie.
Angie was cruel, while Eric was selfish.
However, Chance was a kind and naive child who was not selfish at all.
How could this not surprise Eric?
Eric looked up at the dark sky and could not conceal his anger and frustration.
Soon, he lowered his head and asked, âWhich movie theater did they go tor
