“I’m not at a disadvantage?” Selena asked back.

“I don’t like him, but I still have to be with him. Isn’t that a disadvantage? What’s the difference between

him and Derek Norton?”

Selena remained calm.

Chaz paused and sighed,

“How can a scum like Derek be compared with Mr. Ferguson? Don’t get fooled by Mr. Ferguson’s usual

appearance and think that he’s rich but stupid. Mr. Ferguson isn’t the kind of person who would belittle

women.”

“Judging by the way you speak for him, I think you wish to be his mistress!”

Selena could not help but mutter.

Chaz did not mind what she said and smiled. “It’s a pity that he doesn’t like men. Otherwise, I would

definitely recommend myself as his bedmate!”

Selena rolled her eyes angrily.She sat on the balcony, looked at the dark sky outside, and sighed.

“I still want to choose Zachary. He likes me and will definitely treat me well. Eric loves someone else. If

it ends badly, I’ll lose my heart and money. What a sh*tty deal!

What’s more, I like the feeling of being worshiped! How cool it is to be a goddess! At worst, I’m Eric’s

nanny and caregiver. Or in nicer words, his lover. He’s setting a trap for me!”

Listening to her words, Chaz shook his head.

He wanted to brainwash her, but Selena was just too stubborn.

At a time like this, what did love matter?

What was more important was unattainable power!

If Selena worked a little harder, she could become Eric’s wife, and she would never have to struggle

again.

However, seeing how Selena was so resistant to Eric, Chaz knew that Selena would not listen to his

words.

Chaz thought about it and held back.

He just glanced at her hesitantly and persuaded her again.

“Anyway, you’re just temporarily infatuated with Zachary because of his body. If Zachary doesn’t mean

well, you’ll lose everything! But at least with Mr. Ferguson, you’ll still have money after sleeping with

him.”

Chaz casually said this and saw Selena’s slightly stunned expression. Then, he turned around and

went downstairs.

Selena was stunned for a moment and thought that it was really ridiculous.

Derek Norton was rich, but in the end, Selena did not get a penny from the divorce and had to

compensate him.

Eric was so much richer and more powerful than Derek, and he was a shrewd man. How could Eric

allow Selena to take his money?

Selena knew that she would have to rely on herself to make money because men were unreliable.

She sighed lightly, closed the door, walked to the balcony, and sat down. Looking at the scenery

outside, Selena felt a little lost.

Selena did not want to be in another relationship.

However, she had to do something about her current situation.

Eric suddenly became so persistent and unreasonable, so Selena did not dare to go head-to-head with

him.

Even so, Selena was not frightened by his threats.

Comparing Eric’s bruteness with Zachary’s gentleness, it was obvious who Selena was leaning toward.

Selena breathed a sigh of relief. She did not want to think too much and went to the bathroom to draw

a bath before she turned in for the night.

Early the next morning, Selena heard some movement downstairs before she fully woke up.

It sounded like her supplier brought over crates of drinks.

However, it was not troublesome with Chaz around.

Selena stretched her back and wanted to turn over to continue sleeping.

However, when she closed her eyes, she could still hear the loud noises downstairs. Thus, her

drowsiness dissipated.

Selena sighed and simply got up. She quickly washed up, changed into sports attire, and went

downstairs.

Chaz stood aside and watched as the people moved the drinks with a bit of worry and frustration.

“Be careful! Don’t drop the wine bottles…”

Selena went down, smiled lightly, and said, “Chaz, why are you so agitated this morning?”

Chaz glanced at her. His eyes lit up, and he smiled as he looked at her in sports attire, which outlined

her slender and beautiful figure. Selena put her hair up in a simple bun, and her skin was soft and fair.

She was flawless.

At first glance, Chaz thought Selena was a college student. He raised his eyebrows shrewdly.

For men, Selena could draw out their pure desire.

Few men could resist women like that.

However, Selena did not think that she was attractive in this outfit, especially without any makeup.

She stood there lazily and raised her chin slightly with a somewhat proud face.

“No matter how angry you are, you shouldn’t disturb my sleep!”

Chaz could not help but laugh.

“Boss, the supplier has other things to do later, so they came early. We can’t drive them away, right?

Sorry for the inconvenience, Boss. Are you going for a run?”

Selena nodded slightly and easily forgave him.

“Yeah, I’m going for a run. My sleep schedule has been so wacky, so I need to exercise properly. In our

line of work, we ought to take care of our health!”

“Yes, what you said makes sense!”

Chaz looked at her with a half-smile.

He knew that Selena was just going for a run on a whim.

After all, he had never seen Selena go out for a run. Chaz could not bear to expose her high-sounding

words.

Selena walked out coquettishly, looked at the map, and ran southward. There was a breakfast diner

down the road, so perhaps she could have breakfast there.

Since she had not exercised for a long time, she got a little tired after running for a few minutes.

Thus, she sat in front of a diner and ordered a burrito and a glass of soy milk.

While waiting, Selena heard a group of people talking and laughing as they came to the diner.

She subconsciously looked sideways and saw a group of tired-looking firefighters coming over.

The leader of the group had a somewhat indifferent smile. It was Zachary.

Zachary also saw Selena. He raised his eyebrows slightly and widened his smile.

Selena sat there and felt a little awkward, but she greeted them calmly.

“What a coincidence!”

The other firefighters recognized Selena as the person who sneaked into the school from the railing.

She was also brought in by their captain.

All of a sudden, everyone’s eyes lit up with interest.

“Isn’t this Ms. Nelson?”

“Oh, yeah! You and Zachary must be destined to be together to be able to meet by chance for

breakfast!”

‘That’s right! It’s fate that they could meet here!”

Everyone looked at each other and smiled.

Zachary glanced at them with a bit of indifference and sat across from Selena.

“Selena, don’t mind them. They don’t have any malicious intent.”

Selena smiled. Her bright eyes were clear and pure.

“I know. Did you just finish work?”

Zachary looked at the dirt on his body and smiled.

“Yeah. We encountered an accident on the way to training, so I went over to help out. I’m sorry that you

have to see me in this state.”

“No worries. Your work is much more meaningful than mine.”

Selena put on a decent smile just as the boss of the diner came out with her order of soy milk and

burrito. The boss glanced at the seats outside that were no longer vacant and beamed with joy.
