Aida knew that Grant was angry, so she quickly comforted him.

“I’m okay. I was stopping him from hitting Selena. This injury is nothing compared to Selena’s.”

Grant gritted his teeth. “I won’t let that double-crosser go!”

Grant intended to remain indifferent to Eric’s punishment of Noah, but now, he wanted to add fuel to the

fire.

Kai was also furious.

“Yeah, we can’t let him go! Noah doesn’t even respect Aida. It’s no wonder that he wants to bring down

Stanton Corporation. Brother, let’s settle the old and new grudges together!”

Grant nodded with dark eyes.

Noah’s lewd gaze at Aida made Grant want to gouge out Noah’s eyeballs.

Aida was his treasure and someone he held dear. No one could desecrate her.

Nicole went over to look at Aida’s injury and said with concern, “You should put on some medicine first,

Aida. It must be very painful.”

“It’s okay. I just can’t go out to meet guests like this, so you’ll have to work harder, Nicole.”

Aida smiled.

Nicole nodded. “Don’t worry, I will. Quick, put on some ointment. Otherwise, the swelling will be more

severe tomorrow.”

They all hated Noah.

Aida was such a gentle and generous person, yet Noah dared to treat her with such contempt.

Noah was really asking for it.

Aida nodded and was taken away by Grant.

Kai went over and patted Nicole on the shoulder.

“I’ll stay here and watch over Dad. You can go and send off the guests with Clayton. There are

probably more people watching the show now, so don’t let the news out.”

“Alright.”

Nicole glanced at Floyd and left immediately.

Clayton saw that it was almost time and had already started to send off the guests.

Seeing Nicole approaching, Clayton took off his coat and put it on her.

“Tired?”

Nicole hugged him with both arms and shook her head.

“Dad must be very sad. He’s so tolerant of his younger brother and always feels that Noah is his

responsibility because they have been through hard times together. In fact, Noah didn’t have a hard

life. He does one thing in front of Dad and another behind his back. He lives a more relaxed life than

Clayton sighed and hugged her.

think that he’ll let Noah go so easily. If Dad doesn’t intervene, he won’t do anything to our family either.”

“I hope so. Noah is such a double-crosser and ingrate!”

It was rare for Nicole to be so angry.

Clayton stroked her hair and greeted the people who came over with a smile.

The man smiled meaningfully.

“Mr. Sloan, you and Ms. Stanton are so loving. We can smell the sweetness in the air from so far away.

What do you make of us single people?”

Nicole raised her head and saw that it was an old business partner, so she did not care and let go of

her hand with a smile.

“Then you should hurry up and find a partner for yourself!”

The other party pointed to Nicole and finally said goodbye.

It took a long time to send everyone away.

After all, it was Floyd’s birthday, so everyone wondered why Floyd did not show up in the end.

Nicole could only say that Floyd was not feeling well and fell asleep after taking some medicine.

Kai was still there. He called Julie to tell her about what happened.

Floyd woke up again and rubbed his temples.

Floyd looked at Clayton.

“Why don’t you take Nicole back to rest? She’s pregnant now, so she shouldn’t stay up late.”

Clayton poured him a glass of water and handed it over gently.

“She’s worried about you, Dad. So, she won’t be able to sleep anyway. Are you feeling better?”

Floyd sat up and sighed.

“What a disaster…”

Nicole sniffled and walked over.

“Dad, we don’t plan to intervene in Uncle Noah’s affairs anymore. Although you’re merciful, we

shouldn’t risk everything we have to fight for such a scumbag. Did you know that he also humiliated

Aida and hit her?”

Floyd was slightly startled. He looked at her with disbelief.

“That b*stard!”

Kai stroked Floyd’s chest from the side.

“Dad, don’t be angry. We just want you to promise that you’ll leave this to Grant and stay out of it.”

Floyd’s chest heaved up and down, and he waved his hand away.

“I know. I won’t be soft-hearted. If he dares to hurt our family, I won’t be polite to him. I used to think

that he was ignorant and had no bad intentions. But when Selena appeared, I realized the devil that

Noah was!”

Over the years, Noah had been too good at pretending.

Perhaps he was just using Jade.

Kai nodded.

Eric brought Selena back to their home.

direction.

Eric wanted to give Selena a checkup first.

The doctor was waiting at home.

Chance, who had just returned home, was also staring at the doctor, waiting for his parents.

When Eric and Selena went in, the doctor stood up.

“What happened?”

Selena’s voice was a little hoarse, and she could hardly speak.

Noah used all his strength to strangle her to death.

Selena’s eyes were also extremely red and bloodshot.

“Examine her quickly.”

Eric carried Selena upstairs in one breath.

The doctor and Chance hurriedly followed.

anything as her throat is still sore, so oral medication wouldn’t work. She can eat when the swelling

subsides tomorrow.”

Eric nodded. “Is she alright?”

“She’s alright. The attacker didn’t strangle her in the right place, so although he used a lot of strength, it

didn’t hurt any vital parts. If the attacker’s hand slid down just a little bit, I’m afraid she wouldn’t have

survived…”

The doctor explained and watched as Eric’s face darkened completely.

Having said that, the doctor knew that it was time for him to leave.

“I’ll get going then. Call me if you need anything.”

Eric nodded.

Chance climbed onto the bed and sat beside Selena. He wanted to touch her neck with his little hands,

but he dared not to. His clear and pure eyes were full of distress.

“Auntie, does it hurt? I should’ve gone with you today. I should’ve protected you.”

Chance choked up a little while talking.
