Chapter One Hundred Ten
Let's Not Fall In Love(我们不要坠入爱河)
When we got back to Ba Weis house we didn't speak at all. Although we held hands the entire way back as soon as we exited the car there was nothing but silence. I guess Ba Wei was more concerned about the the bloody clothes that were on his body because he began to strip almost immediately. I guess he got tired of the feeling of blood on his skin.
I know he said that he didn't have any wounds but I couldn't help but to make sure. As we walked towards the door I let my eyes run over the entirety of his now bare torso and for some reason not finding anything made me feel better. At least he didn't lie to me.
When we entered the house it wasn't as it usually was. Usually his fathers floor is dark because he's never home but this time it was lit up, and I have to say that his father has good taste. I followed behind Ba Wei in silence all the way to the door to his floor. As he punched in the numbers a voice rang through the house. It wasn't his father nor his mother but it did sound familiar. Who is it?
Ba Wei let out a sigh and finished punching in the numbers. He pushed the door open and turned around to me.
"Go in there and wait for me."
"But-"
"Just go in there to wait for me alright. I won't be long," he said cutting me off.
He walked around me and made his way back down the stairs and I couldn't say that I wasn't frustrated. I pushed the door and walked inside closing it behind me. I walked over to the couch and was about to sit down when my eyes landed on my hands. It would be bad to stain anything with blood so I walked over to the sink in the kitchen and washed them. As I did I realized from my growling stomach that we still hadn't eaten anything. Maybe I should change that.
I remember from last time that he usually doesn't keep a full full fridge since his mother comes and cooks mostly but it should be something in there to make something simple right. I dried my hands and walked over to the fridge and to my surprise it was fully stocked. I looked through the stuff until I found some ingredients for a quick meal. Hopefully he liked ginger beef stir fry because if he didn't I would waste my time.
I pulled out all the ingredients and got to work. It didn't take me that long to even cook it, and by the time I was done Ba Wei still hadn't came back. Sighing I got out two bowls and put some of the stir fry inside. I sat them on the table and then went to fetch some of the rice I had seen in the fridge. Maybe after I warm it up he'd be back.
Luckily I was right because right as I sat the bowls of rice down on either side of the table the door opened. When he came into view I couldn't help but smile at him.
"Why are you smiling at me like that," he asked as he walked over to me?
"No reason. I made you something to eat."
"Ah really. Looking at the set up it looks like you made us something to eat."
"Don't be an ass." I watched as he was about to sit down at the table and I quickly grabbed his arm. "Go take a quick shower first."
He raised an eyebrow at me, "why exactly?"
"There's blood on you and I'd rather you not sit and eat with it on you."
He nodded and got up and disappeared down the hallway. Soon I heard the shower began to run again. Letting out a sigh I sat down at the table. I stared down at the food for a few seconds before a realization hit me.
I made him dinner, and not only did I make him dinner I made him dinner after he basically got off work. What am I? A housewife? I hadn't cooked for anyone before other than myself so doing this alone shows that Ba Wei is important to me because if he wasn't I would've just let him starve. Hunger doesn't bother me much.
I was about to say something aloud when Ba Wei walked out and sat down at the table in a towel no less. I was going to say something but I decided to just let it be. It's not like it was an issue for me. It was just distracting. I watched as he started to stuff his face and when I saw a small smile grace his lips I looked down. I'm glad he likes it.
"I'm convinced you put something in your food."
"What do you mean by that?"
"It's gotta be something in this because it's so good. I could eat this everyday."
Upon hearing him say that without thinking I responded, "I can cook for you everyday if you like it so much."
I was taken aback by my own words and when I looked up I found Ba Wei staring at me. I could feel my face heating up as I stared into his eyes. I cleared my throat and shifted my eyes.
"Only if you want me too that is."
I heard Ba Wei chuckle and whisper one thing before he returned to eating and it made my face burn even more. My brain to mouth function is clearly is malfunctioning when I'm around this man.
"Cute."

After the brief light dinner Ba Wei helped me clean off the table and helped me wash everything. I didn't take him for the type of guy to have those type of manners. He just didn't seem like he did many chores, but then again I didn't do much either until my parents divorced. I had to do something to keep the house clean or it would never get clean. My father certainly wasn't a help in that department. Sure I could've hired someone to clean the house but I liked cleaning it. It reminded me of her.
"Hey," Ba Wei said pulling me out of my thoughts, "Did you hear me?"
I dried my hands, "no. Sorry I was in my own world right then."
He reached out and grabbed my hand, "I said let's go to bed."
I didn't have time to protest that statement because he had already began pulling me. As we walked down the hall I noticed that he was pulling me towards his room. I guess he really meant that I would be sleeping with him tonight. After what happened earlier in the shower hopefully we sleep.
He flipped on the lights and let go of my hand. I felt out of place in this neat room and I guess he noticed because as he was changing into some shorts he kept looking back at me.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Just admiring your ass," I said trying to soften the tense mood.
"Oh really," he walked up and put his hands around my waist? "I have to say that yours is way better."
I pushed him off me, "fuck off."
I watched as he stumbled back, and he flashed me that smile that always makes my heart skip a beat. He walked over to the bed and flopped down on it. I stood there more awkward than anything for some reason because I knew for a fact that he wanted to lay beside him but I just couldn't move my feet.
"You can lay down you know."
"I know....I just"
"You just what? I don't bite. It's not like we're going to bed anytime soon."
I stared at him for a few minutes before I finally laid down. When my back hit the soft mattress I let out a sigh. It was truly nice to lay down again, and hopefully this time we won't be interrupted. We laid there in silence for a couple of minutes before Ba Wei finally spoke.
"I'm sorry you had to see me like that. I know it must have been alarming to see all that blood."
"No. It's fine. I've seen worse." As I said that that day flashed before my eyes, "trust me."
"Still. I don't want to expose you to that part of my life?"
"Why do you always say stuff like that," I looked over at him, "it doesn't bother me."
"You're special to me," he shifted his eyes from mine. "I don't want you to get involved in the bullshit I have to be involved in."
I softened my voice, "you're special to me too, but how you're treating me is much like a woman and I don't like it."
Ba Wei let out a chuckle, "if I were treating you like a woman I would've already fucked you by now."
"Ah," a smile spread across my lips, "forgot you're a ladies man."
"Not fully. I never seek them out. They always throw themselves at me. Never been interested in them for anything more than that."
I nodded, "yeah same for me. I mean I had a girlfriend before I moved but she wasn't really my girlfriend."
"That doesn't make sense."
"I would explain but it's a weird story."'
"I'm all ears."
I couldn't help but to look over at him. I blinked a few times before I sighed. Well I didn't really want to talk about myself but since I brought it up I have to finish it. Please don't hate me after this.
