Chapter One Hundred Fifty One
Let's Not Fall In Love(我们不要坠入爱河)
"Why are you looking like that," my father asked as I squeezed my eyes shut? "Do you know the name."
I let out a sigh, "yes. I know the name."
"How?"
I opened my eyes and glanced over at Ba Wei to see his normal cold expression. I don't know why but when I met his eyes I felt the overwhelming want to cry: I quickly shifted my eyes to my father.
"He's the guy that contributed in the incident that ended with me in a jail cell."
"What? Why would your mother say a child's name of all things," my father asked raising his voice?
"I don't know."
As I said that my voice started to shake. My entire body was shaking. I was angry, very angry. So angry that my emotions were going wild. I wanted to hit something, hit someone. I took deep breaths and just stared at the floor.
"How do you know not know? Are you still in contact with that boy?"
"If course he isn't," Ba Wei answered.
He reached out and grabbed my arm and pulled me into his arms. As his arms wrapped around me I couldn't help but relax a little.
"How would you know? In fact I don't remember talking to you at all."
"Look," Ba Wei said calmly, "I know because I'm around him 24/7."
My father was silent for a few minutes, "how disgusting. You're proud of this relationship you have with my son huh?"
I couldn't help but sigh, "dad-"
"No," Ba Wei said as his arms fell from around me. "Let him say what he has to say."
"How mature of you," my father said laughing. "Do you think I'd ever accept this disgraceful relationship? I mean I doubt this is anything but a phase for him."
I reached my hand out and grabbed Ba Weis. I gave it a slight squeeze because I knew just from looking at his face that he was getting upset. I didn't want to go through this right now. My moms in jail and the only name she said was Cheng De, but my father wants to pick fights with my boyfriend.
"I don't need you to accept it."
"But you do."
"I don't because I don't remember asking you permission. I'm not planning on going anywhere so you should get use to me."
"That's funny-"
"Dad," I said cutting him off. "Can you stop. I don't want this conversation to get any more tense." I sighed, "Ba Wei."
"Hmm?"
"Do you think you can ask your father to do me a favor?"
"Consider it done."
Without even having to tell him the favor he had already pulled out his phone and walked away. I looked at my father to see him staring at Ba Wei walking away.
"Do you have to be so rude to him?"
"When will you tell him that this is just a phase?"
"I won't because it's not. Can't you just accept that I actually like him. Why is who I date so much of an issue for you?"
"Who you date is linked to me because of who I am."
"Ah yes, I can't forget about your image in the eyes of the press."
"Look-"
"To be honest, I have tried everything to make you happy. Yet the one thing, the one person that makes me happy you don't like them because they're not the gender you want them to be."
"It's not-"
"I don't care," I ran a hand through my hair. "Can you just go try to find out more information about mom."
He was about to say something else but as Ba Wei rounded the corner I guess he decided to keep his mouth shut.
"He's said he'll send Kang Wu to look into it."
"I'm not asking for him to look into it though."
Ba Wei glanced at my father then back at me, "I'm aware. Kang Wu doesn't go on stake outs."
I nodded and looked over at my father. He seemed to be thinking about something. I thought he was about to say something but he didn't. Instead he just made his way back to the door and slipped into his shoes. Without even a goodbye he left. I know I shouldn't care but he thinks about my love life but his blatant disapproval of it still hurts. I looked down at the floor and like he read my mind Ba Wei hugged me from behind.
"Why the sudden hug," I asked with a sly smirk?
"Don't let his actions get to you."
I sighed, "it's hard not too. I just want him to understand that you make me happy."
"He'll come around."
"What If he doesn't?"
"It doesn't matter because I'll still love you."
When I heard those words it felt like my heart melted. My face was beet red and for once I wanted him to see it. I turned around in his arms and out eyes met.
"What did you say?"
He leaned down and kissed me, "I said I love you."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. As our lips parted my heart was pounding. I laid my forehead against his and let our noses touch.
"I love you too."
A smile spread across his face and the arms that were around me tightened. I was about to say something but before I could his lips smashed into mine. I let out a small groan in surprise but kissed him back.
The hands that were on my waist slid down under my ass and to my surprise he lifted me up. I pulled back in surprise and he smiled.
"Wrap your legs around me."
I didn't argue and did what he asked. After I did he began to kiss my neck. I ran my hands through his hair as he kissed his way back to my mouth.
"Ji Nan," he breathed out.
"Hmm?"
"It's getting so hard to tell you no."
Confused I raised an eyebrow, "what do you mean?"
He grabbed my ass, "I want to make a mess out of you."
Blushing I grabbed his face so I can look in his eyes, "what's stopping you."
"I don't want this to be something to make you forget about what's going on."
"Ba Wei, I'm not asking you to make me forget about anything in my life. I'm asking you to make a new memory with me."
"Ji-"
"You said you love me," I said as I stared in his eyes, "I want to feel that."
