Chapter Sixty-Seven

Let's Not Fall In Love(我们不要坠入爱河)

Class for the rest of the day was fast paced. So much so that by the end of the last class my wrist and my fingers physically hurt. If I knew that there was going to be this many notes I would have never taken such intense ones. On that note, I can't even imagine what Ba Wei went through. He's going to kill me.

I closed my note books and look around the classroom. It was relatively empty, but Yaling still sat in her desk. I couldn't help but sigh when I saw her. I physically can't understand her fixation on me. I get that I'm good looking but what exactly did she want from me. I stuffed my books into my bag and stood up.

When I did this Yalings head snapped in my direction. When I met her eyes I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Anger, I saw anger within them. I shifted my eyes and threw my bag over my shoulder and started to walk towards the door.

"I know about you."

When I heard that sentence leave Yalings mouth I stopped in my tracks. I turned to look at her to see that she had a blank expression.

"What?"

"You heard me." I stared at her for a few seconds before I turned to leave. "Wait didn't you hear me.?"

I stopped walking and sighed. In truth I was curious on what subject about me she knew. I have a lot of secrets but not a lot could hurt me. Only one of them could do a lot of damage, and I doubt she knew about it.

"I heard you. I don't care."

"Your father will."

I turned to Yaling and even though I tried to hold it in I began to laugh. This is the threat she wanted to use. It was true that I didn't want my fathers identity known in this school but it wasn't something would completely ruin my life. I don't have any friends here anyway so it's not like anything would change.

"Tell my father what you like. My fathers opinion means nothing at all to me."

"Really? I'm sure he'd have a big opinion to share about you hanging around a gangster."

I narrowed my eyes, "Yaling. The fact that you said that sentence let's me know that you know nothing about my father. Tell him what you like, it won't change anything."

She didn't say anything and I took that opportunity to leave. It was honestly pathetic of her to take that route. What was she trying to do? Blackmail me with something so trivial? How comical. I have to say it's refreshing to be threatened after such a long time. Too bad it wasn't enough to cause issues. It could've been fun.

I pushed those thoughts to the back of my head and made my way to the tutoring room. The halls were quiet but because some students were still around there was still the sound of shoes on the tile floor. I bet most were going home to be with their friends even their families. I wonder if they even know how lucky they are. Probably not.

When I made it to room 205 I was surprised to see Ba Wei standing beside the door. My heart seemed to skip a beat upon seeing him. I took a deep breath to try to calm my now pounding heart but it was no use.

"On time," I said, "can't believe this."

His eyes shot in my direction and even though I was ready for his smart remark in return there wasn't one. He just looked at me without a word. I raised an eyebrow at him.

He was angry. It was very obvious that he was upset, but about what. It wasn't really like him not to have a snarky remark with me. In fact it had been so long since he had been quiet that is slightly bothering me.

Without a word he opened the door and motioned for me to go in. I stared at him for a second before I simply just walked in. I wanted to ask what was wrong but just looking at him let me know that l would get nowhere with that question.

I sat down at the table and took out my mathematics and literature books. In truth I didn't feel like even doing the session today, but it was a requirement. If I didn't do the tutoring session his grades would probably start to suffer again. Why did I agree to this?

When Ba Wei sat down beside me he didn't say anything and just took out his notebook. I watched closely as he took his books out and I noticed that his knuckles were slightly red. I wanted to say something but I chose not to.

"I took some notes, but not many." I looked over at him then down at his notebook.

"Why did you not take a lot of them?"

He sighed, "had to take care of something. Can we get this over with quickly."

"I don't think that's an option."

He didn't say anything and neither did I. I reached over and grabbed his notebook and started to flip through it until I saw today's date. As I looked over the page I was surprised to see that the notes were very neat. I was impressed that he had managed to get so many down. As I looked over them I noticed that they stopped abruptly. I was going to ask why, but before I could he said something.

"I'm sorry I couldn't take more."

I raised an eyebrow, "why?"

"Because now I won't be able to get the reward."

I stared at him for a bit and soon I realized something. Ba Wei was definitely upset about something, but the reason was completely off.

"Are you upset that you didn't finish the notes," I asked astonished?

He turned towards me and for the first time since I met him I watched his face turn red. My eyes widened and he quickly looked away. He's blushing! Why is he blushing?

Surprise washed over my body, but I was more surprised about why he was blushing than him blushing in general. He had his face away from me, but even though I couldn't see it I could see his ears. They were a light shade of red and I could help the smile that spread across my face. How cute.

"Ba Wei."

He didn't respond to that so I called out to him again, but he still didn't respond. Is he actually this upset about not finishing the notes? It's not that big of a deal. It's not like I would be mad.

"Hey, it's fine that you didn't finish the notes. I'm not up-"

"I won't get the reward."

"What?"

"You said you'd give me the reward if I took good notes."

"You're unexpectedly cute you know," I said as I began to laugh.

That seemed to catch Ba Weis attention because he turned towards me. When our eyes met my heart began to race. I shifted my eyes and my laughter began to subside. I let out a sigh and looked up to see that he was still staring at me. I stared at him a bit before I leaned forward, and only stopped when our lips were an inch away from each other.

"What are you-"

Before he could finish his sentence I pressed my lips against his. Originally I wasn't going to give him anything for taking notes, but seeing him act so pouty about not getting them done made me want to give him something. He was acting too cute not to kiss.

When I pulled back and our lips separated neither of us said anything. We just stared at each other and to my disappointment the red on his cheeks had went away. How disappointing.

"Why did you kiss me?"

When he asked this question I could hear the genuine confusion in his voice. I looked over at him and I was expecting to see a confused expression but as usual it was blank. Why can't I read you?

"It's your reward."

"But I didn't finish them."

A smile spread across my face, "I didn't say you had to finish them. They were neat so you earned your reward."

Ba Wei was silent and just stared at me for a few minutes. I shifted my eyes and looked down at the books.

I glanced back over at him, "let's get this done alright."

He nodded, "yeah."

Although he said that when I glanced at his face I knew he was thinking about something else. As I began to go over the notes I couldn't help but wonder what.
