Chapter Eighty-Two
Let's Not Fall In Love(我们不要坠入爱河)
I was nervous. Not because I was going on a date, but because I didn't know what to wear. After I had agreed to go Ba Wei gave me little time to ask anymore questions. He walked me home and just gave me a time and place to meet back up at. It was strange because I hadn't seen him act like that until now. I couldn't help but wonder if he was that excited about it.
I stood in my closet in just my underwear looking at all my clothes in almost a panic. I felt overwhelmed for once in my life. I had never truly been on a date. Well at least one that I wanted to go on. This was a first for me and I had always thought that the thing about not knowing what to wear was an exaggeration. I was wrong.
He didn't even tell me what exactly we were doing. When I asked he just said I'll see when I get there. It was kind of a dick move on his part but I get it. It was a surprise I guess.
I sighed and walked over to the racks in my closet and started sifting through the shirts. I didn't have that many options to choose from since half of my wardrobe was black. I knew I would most likely have to wear black pants because mostly I only owned that color but I didn't want to wear a black shirt.
I was about to give up on trying to find a decent shirt when I caught a glimpse of something red. With a relieved sigh I pulled out the only piece of odd colored clothing I owned. It was a silk button up red shirt that had a rather deep V-neck line. I touched the fabric with my hand and was surprised to feel a stiffness inside the shirt. I cocked an eyebrow and fished out the hard thing and laughed to myself.
It was a tag meaning the shirt was brand new. Looking at the shirt I didn't even know who gave it to me to be honest. It wasn't my style at all but then again my style was black so I guess this would be a good change.
I threw the shirt on my bed and picked out a pair of simple pants and shoes. I checked my watch to see that it was almost time for me to leave. I had spent over an hour and a half looking for this simple ass outfit. How embarrassing.
I ran a hand through my hair and began getting dressed. When I was done I was a bit more satisfied with the outfit than I thought I would. The red complemented my skin tone very nicely and the deep v in the shirt showed off my sculpted chest in just the right way. Now all that was left was my hair.
I walked into the bathroom and sighed when I saw the state of my hair. Of course it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I stood there for a few minutes thinking about what to do with it. I could straighten it to save time but if I did I would have to still style it afterwards. I could also curl it but that would take up too much time too.
I let out a sigh and grabbed my brush. I'll just leave it how it is and add some leave in conditioner to make it softer. As I brushed through my hair I heard my phone ding from the other room. I ignored it and finished my hair, and once I was satisfied with the result I left the bathroom.
I walked over to my bed and grabbed my phone to see that it was a text from Ba Wei. I raised an eyebrow and opened the message.
Ba Wei: here's the address again if you forgot
I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face as I read that because although it had been an hour I hadn't forgotten where he told me to go. He told me to go to the park that's down the street from my apartment building and wait for him. I didn't know the exact location of the park but I knew If I kept walking eventually I would find what I was looking for.
Me: I didn't forget. I'll be there in 10. Don't have me waiting for too long.
I stuffed my phone into my pocket and made my way to the door. Before leaving I made sure to leave a brief note for my father if he even bothered to come here. It's not like I cared if he knew where I was I just didn't want him bothering me. It was a simple note telling him I will be home late. He probably won't care anyway. I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind and left without looking back.

When I made it to the park it was almost two in the afternoon and to my surprise it was mostly empty. There were a few people there with children but that was it. How strange. I walked over and took a seat on a bench and pulled out my phone. I was about to send Ba Wei a message but before I could I heard his voice call my name. I looked up almost immediately and our eyes met as he walked towards me.
I looked him up and down and I almost choked on my own spit. He was dressed in a black skin tight shirt with black pants to match, it was a simple outfit yet effective. Even though it looked more causal than mine it didn't make mine look to be too much.
"I got here just in time," he said as he came to stand directly in front of me.
I shifted my eyes and stood up. Almost immediately after I did this I could feel Ba Weis eyes slowly go down my frame. A blush rose to my cheeks and I cleared my throat.
"Yeah you did." His eyes met mine and a smile spread across his face.
"Do I get award?" I raised an eyebrow at him and he burst out laughing. "I'm just kidding."
Even though he said that I don't think he was. I think he actually wanted a reward of some kind for being on time. I usually would've been annoyed if anyone asked for such a thing on a date with me but instead I just found it cute.
"So, what are we going to do," I asked as I cleared my throat?
"Ah yeah follow me," he said as he turned and started walking.
I didn't ask questions and stayed close behind him and before I knew it we had left the park all together. We were walking down the streets quickly but even though we were moving quickly it didn't stop the stares. I can't say I blame any of the girls from staring a bit too long. We both are very attractive so it's only natural.
"Hey," Ba Wei called.
"Yeah?"
"Red looks nice on you, " he said glancing back at me.
I couldn't help the blush that made its way to my face and Ba Wei was quick to take notice of it. He slowed his pace down until he was walking directly beside me.
"Is it a new shirt?"
"Somewhat. It's my first time wearing it today."
"So you wore it just for me huh?"
"I...."
Ba Wei chuckled, "it's a yes or no question babe."
When I heard that pet name come from him I didn't know how to react. It's not the first time I've been called that but something about him using it. I didn't say anything and Ba Wei chuckled again but didn't say anything. I was grateful because if he would've said anything else I knew I would be the same color as my shirt.
After about twenty minutes of walking Ba Wei stopped in front of a rather large dark building. Dark in the sense that there didn't seem to be any lights on inside of this place. I turned my attention to Ba Wei to have his eyes meet mine and a small smirk made it way into his face.
"What is this place?"
"Close your eyes."
"What," I asked even though I heard him?
"You heard me. Just close your eyes."
I stared at him for a few minutes before I let out a sigh and closed my eyes. I felt his hand entangle with mine and he began to pull me forward. I tried my best to listen to the surrounding nose as we entered the building but there was nothing but silence.
"Okay just stand right there for a minute okay."
I nodded my head and stood still. I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing that was so quiet in a already silent room. What even was this building. It was so dark from the outside and even standing inside it didn't seem to be all that bright. Where the hell did he take me and what is he planing.
"Okay," Ba Wei said pulling from my thoughts.. "You can open them now."
Slowly I opened my eyes and in front of me was a very large table covered with food. Most of it was junk food like candy, Popcorn, sodas. If I was telling you the truth is looked almost like the menu of a movie theatre was laid out in front of me.
"What is this?"
"Well it's your food choices." I looked over at him to see that he was leaned up against a pole that was beside the table.
"Food choices for what?"
I wanted a smile spread across his face, "I'm not going to tell you. You're gonna have to guess. The faster you pick your choice of food the faster we can get through the other stages."
I didn't say anything and just turned my attention back to the table. I honestly didn't want anything to eat but because he said that I had to choose something I grabbed a thing of popcorn and a soda.
"Done," he asked.
I nodded and he pushed himself up and chose a few boxes of candy and a soda from the table before he turned and made his way down a hallway. Now that I look around the interior of this building looked very expensive. It was very polished, and as we walked down it's hallways I finally realized just what kind of date this way. It was a movie date judging by the huge postered of movies that hung over the walls.
I was about to tell him that I figured out that we were doing when he came to an abrupt stop. I came to a stop beside him and glanced him over. His skin was glistening under the now bright lights of the room we were in. If my hands weren't full I would reach out and touch him.
"I'm assuming you know what this is now."
"Yeah," I said with a slight smile.
"Well since you've already figured it out pick a movie you want to watch."
I raised an eyebrow at that sentence and looked up to see a list full of movie names. It wasn't a professional looking list so I'm guessing Ba Wei wrote them.
"Did you write these?"
He let out a slight chuckle, "yeah. How could you tell?"
I glanced over at him and just flashed him a smile instead of answering. He didn't say anything and just turned his attention back to the board.
"Um, what do you want to watch," I asked as I turned to him?
He seemed a bit surprised but still answered with a title I wish he hadn't. It was the only scary movie on the board and I had no intention of watching it because horror movies weren't something I enjoyed. It wasn't like I was pussy about it but I just couldn't stand horror movies.
"If you don't want to watch it that's fine."
"No," I said quickly. "We can watch that one."
"You sure?"
Inside I was yelling no but I knew that if I said that he would definitely come to the conclusion that I didn't like horror movies and definitely tease me about it. There was no winning in my eyes so I just said the only thing that I could.
"Yeah."
