Athena's POV

I slowly opened my eyes, quickly shutting them when I was met with the bright lights of my surroundings.

I looked around the familiar room, taking a clear note that everything seemed different.

I saw things way clearer now, I could hear voices from afar talking and I could smell fried bacon like it was right in front of me. I felt really weird.

I made a move to ease up from the bed with my arms but soon realized I didn't have any but I did have paws.

I screamed but it came out as a squeaky growl. My eyes widened as I turned a fraction of my head to a mirror on the wall, staring back at me wasn't my usual human self but a wolf's body. I screamed again and fell off the bed, the 'oof' sound vibrating throughout the room.

An unfamiliar man came in with a smile on his face.

"She's awake!" he shouted.

The shout felt like truck horns in my ears.

I whined at the noise.

I tried getting up but couldn't seem to work my paws. I growled at them then rolled my eyes.

'That changes nothing' I thought.

"Oh" Mr. Unfamiliar said. I'm guessing he's a doctor because of the white lab coat and stethoscope around his neck.

"You don't seem to know how to stand" the doctor observed.

'That's right Captain Obvious' I wanted to say but it came out as a stiff bark.

"Oh gosh" I heard. I turned to my right to see Remi standing by the door staring at me.

"A is that you?" She asked, looking me up and down.

I nodded, well tried.

She squealed.

"You're a mother freaking werewolf!" She yelled.

'Again with the yells!'

Lucifer walked in a proud smile on his face.

"She can't shift back" the doctor announces.

"Can you help her?" Remi asked Lucifer.

'Finally someone who understands my situation'

"Not really, I know someone who can"

She nodded.

Lucifer walked out of the room.

Rush came in shortly after, a guy and Lucifer trailing behind them.

"Wow she's bigger than me in wolf form" the guy said in amazement.

"She has the markings?"

"What markings?" Remi asked.

"You can't see them because you aren't a wolf, only she can reveal them. I'm not sure she can do that yet though"

They continued to talk about me like I wasn't even there.

I rolled my eyes, I really wanted to shout at them.

"Okay I guess she's getting irritated now, Alec help her shift back"

Thank God for Rush.

"Okay, I need you to picture yourself in human form, every detail. Feel your surroundings, clear your mind and focus on this one thing."

I breathed in, closed my wolf eyes and relaxed.

'That's it when this shift is over we can be together' the familiar voice said in my head.

I cleared my thoughts of it and imagined the last time I looked into a mirror.

My bones started to twist and pop. It felt weird with a little pain. My paws retracted along with the claws and fur.

I was becoming me again.

"Get a blanket" Lucifer ordered.

They threw a blanket over me as my shift was completed.

"That was scary" I said, taking the blanket off my head.

I slowly stood up on my wobbly legs.

I threw the blanket to the ground and raised an eyebrow when everyone turned their head.

"Guys, I'm not naked" I said.

"Thank God" Rush said.

"Aren't you a little, LOT, unholy to be thanking God?" Remi mumbled to Rush.

He rolled his eyes.

"How is this even possible? You didn't feel any pain while shifting, your large as fuck and you shift back with clothes plus you have the markings. Am I dreaming?" Alec asked himself in amazement.

"I don't understand, why did I shift into a wolf guys?"

Lucifer

Flashback

"Doc do you think this is what I think it is?" I asked looking up from a knocked out Athena on the bed. She had a high fever and small grunts of pain came from her lips as she laid unconscious. I was really worried about her.

"The symptoms all add up to this conclusion she is clearly shifting, to what? We'll have to wait and see, the queen sure is full of surprises."

"Her parents, is it possible they were supernaturals?" I ask.

"I don't think it is custom for all supernatural beings to tell their kids about their other half, the only way that could not happen is if she wasn't raised by her parents." He answered.

I knew it.

I grunted dismissing him. I only wanted to see my mate right now to let all this new information seep in.

Athena

I sat quietly as all the information sunk in.

1) I was a werewolf

2) Not only was I a wolf but a direct descendant of the wolf God Fenrir.

3) My parents weren't my parents, not that that mattered much, but I did love my dad.

4) I don't have a clue who my real parents are.

I was freaking out. I couldn't believe all of this.

'Your quite slow human' The voice said in my head. Now I know I wasn't going insane because I learned that the voice in my head was my wolf.

'You choose to appear the worst of times' I said.

'Well well it's time you know me since you've shift and all, I'm Snow, say it with a hiss'

'Sassy aren't you?'

'It's apart of me'

'Do you know anything about my real parents?' I asked.

'Nope, I came into your body two months after you were born and after that it's the same people who you thought were your parents. If you had changed earlier I would have sniffed them out, I would have known they were humans therefore couldn't be your parents'

I nodded to myself.

'Wait what did you mean when you said you came into my body?'

'Wolf spirits choose who they want their humans to be, because you were a descendant of our God I chose you, if you weren't you would have been born with your wolf no need for a wolf spirit'

'Jeez, good to know you only chose me for my status'

'Couldn't help it, I was born for greatness' Snow said cockily.

'Did you even born?' I asked curiously.

'I'm not gonna answer that'

Then she was gone. Great, now I'm all alone.

'I'll take a walk to clear my head or something just to get out of here' I thought.

Walking into the living room, I heard two voices speaking.

"I'll contact Fenrir about this. I need to know who Athena's parents are" I could tell it was Luce.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean the last time you guys talked, you nearly killed each other" the other voice I know was Rush said.

"I have no choice but he's the only one who can provide me with the necessary information."

I slowly started moving away from where I was. I couldn't let them see me leave. I know for sure Luce wouldn't let me go anywhere outside the castle. But now that I have a wolf I could take care of myself. I hope.

I slowly closed the door behind me, hoping their heightened hearing didn't catch anything.

I sighed in relief when they didn't hear anything then started walking down the hall, the place was really huge I'd probably get lost. As I turned a corner I spotted an elevator. 'Thank God' I silently praised.

I walked into it, pushing the button for the bottom floor.

About 4 minutes later, I arrived at the bottom of the castle. I stepped out of the elevator, watching as people walked around casually as if they lived here. I wouldn't be too surprised if they did.

I quickly headed for the grand door trying to blend in with the crowd.

A strange looking creature opened it, I walked outside squinting my eyes as the bright sunlight hit me.

What the, sun in hell!?

I didn't realise I missed being outside this much, the heat of the sun and the cool breeze blowing against my white and peach summer dress. I let my hair loose as I walked, loving the rush of the wind passing through it. People gave me curious looks while others didn't spare me a glance.

I relaxed to the feeling, hell was way better than I thought it would be. Well, except for humans who came here, it sure is cruel for them.

As I walked through the town I watched as people rushed back and forth as they worked. I went to one of the vendors, it was a little kid who looked pale and fragile. She had black horns and black eyes, no whites.

I was a bit startled by it.

"How may I help you mam?" She asked her voice shaky, an undertone of fear and worry in her voice, I wondered why?

"How much for the apples?" I asked.

"10 quintons" she answered.

I guess I couldn't buy any since I didn't have any money on me, that type for the matter.

"I don't have that amount" I say looking down at her sadly.

"It's okay mam, you may buy it another time" she said hopefully.

I smiled, 'What a sweet girl.'

I said 'okay' and continued my journey.

Walking across an alley, I heard a scream, filled with fear and worry.

I hurried into the alley, gasping at the sight before me. A frail, malnourished girl in ragged clothing was surrounded by demons, I could tell by the black horns and eyes.

"Give it up girl, you don't want to hold onto your virginity for long do you?"

They were trying to rape her?

I stomped over there.

"Hey!" I yelled.

Their eyes flashed to me.

"What do we have here? Another brat to treat us?" One of the demons said, a smug smirk on his lips.

"You creatures disgust me!" I yelled.

The men rolled their eyes.

"Leave her alone, I'm sure you wouldn't want Lucifer paying you a visit would you?" I asked taking a step closer to them.

They glared as they ran away.

'Cowards' I thought.

Lucifer's name couldn't be uttered by a commoner unless given permission from him, I learned that earlier, so they knew I must be very important.

If they did do something they would be commiting suicide.

The girl sighed, running her hands through her hair.

"Thank you " she breathed.

"Your welcome"

"Are you okay?" I asked, my voice filled with worry.

"I'm as fine as I can get. I'm April" she said, pulling on the dirty clothes on her body.

"Where are you from?" I questioned.

"I don't live anywhere, my parents were killed by higher ups when I was younger so I had to fend for myself until now" she shrugged.

"Oh, I'm very sorry to hear about all that. You can come back to the castle with me?" I hope she says yes. She really needs help.

"The castle? Me? I don't kno-" I cut her off.

"Don't worry I'm Athena the future queen I can do anything" I winked.

She smiled.

"Thank you very much"

We walked back to the castle, people stared curiously at us as we walked by. I could tell April was feeling a bit self conscious because of her appearance but kept walking.

As the elevator went up I thought about what I would say or do to convince Lucifer to make April stay here.

The elevator dinged open signalling our arrival.

I walked down the hall, April trailing behind me.

I opened the door coming face to face with an angry Lucifer and Remi.

Rush stayed by the side, his nose sticking in the air. April came into view, her eyes meeting with Rush's "Mate" they both say.

Oh well.
