Athena's POV

It's been two days since the rabid angel took me. Michael comes down here sometimes to tell me his plans for me and Lucifer. I wondered what type of bad guy he was, because he certainly wasn't a smart one.

The cell they put me in was very comfortable, the small sponge for a mattress, the whining sound of some pipe around, the rotten stench of whatever else he kept down here, sure made me feel at home.

I wondered what everyone back at the castle was doing. Were they looking for me or doing random stuff to blow time off? Did they even care? I shook my head slightly to get rid of the silly thoughts. They must be looking for me, they must.

The sound of heavy boots on the floor signaled that someone was coming down here, either to tease me, make me try their disgusting food or bringing a new prisoner.

It was a new prisoner. The big bulky barbarian looking men threw him into the cell I was in, casting me a mean glare as they walked back up. I rolled my eyes sticking my tongue out at them.

They couldn't do me anything, Michael gave them strict orders to not hurt me, so I could fuck with them as many times as I want.

I looked over to the heaving man. He sat in the dark corner of the cell his head held down.

"Hey" I said, walking over to him,"You alright?"

"Do I look like it?" he wheezed out, coughing at the end, he must have some lung injury.

"Uhm no" I replied, kneeling in front of him.

"Look up" and as he did we both gasped. We looked really alike.

The same black hair, hair color and other similar features. He looked like a boy version of me.

"You look like me?"

"Yeah" I said as the pieces finally came to the puzzle. "You're my brother."

Clapping was heard behind us and I faced the one and only, Michael.

"You figured it out" he chuckled darkly. You could practically see the evil coming off in waves from this man or rather archangel.

"What is he talking about?" my brother asked.

"You know, it was quite amusing when you guys got separated, one went to a rich family and the other not so much, I got to say Athena, your twin brother here, sure lived a better life than you did"

"Twin brother?"

"He spent his childhood at balls with his famous parents getting all his little heart's desires, while you had to learn to bake cookies. He smoked and drank, flunked school because why not he would get into Harvard anyways, while you my dear had to spend your time paying the bills, doing homework and hiding drugs from your mother, you guys are polar opposites what kind of twins-"

"How do you know all this?" I asked cutting him off.

"It's part of my job from up above, I must admit that I was quite surprised to see a broken girl as a King's mate, that too Lucifer's."

"Lucifer? What the hell are you people talking about, why am I here?"

Gosh this kid was clueless.

Michael laughs, "So clueless Aden you'll soon find out"

Two hours passed and I told Aden, my twin about everything. He was really surprised and thought being a wolf was cool. He pitied me when he found out about the life I lived and how he  took his for granted.

Through the short hours we've known each together we learnt everything about one another, like family does.

We were now sitting talking about his college days, it was quite funny, all the trouble he got in- his adoptive parents who turned out to be a famous actor Ray Greene and his wife Amanda who was a wedding planner -scolded him when he got into trouble.

He loved them I could tell, just from the expressions on his face. Now I just want to meet my father since I'll never get to be with my mom...

We sat there in a comfortable silence for I don't know how long. Then we heard an alarm going off. It was really loud and hurt my sensitive ears. Aden didn't change yet so he didn't have heightened hearing. From afar I could hear some of the words they were shouting at each other

"There -  coming -  attack" I knew Lucifer would come to save me. I knew.

Lucifer's POV

As we surrounded Michael's hideout I thought to myself how stupid he was, choosing an hideout in hell - my home.

We watched as the men walked around carelessly, no patrol nor anything. There was one flaw of my dear brother he never used his brain, the only thing he used was his looks and position as God's 'favourite son'.

Fenrir's group of wolves went to the north of the rundown building. My army parted, some went with Fenrir's wolves and others south of the building. Fenrir, Apophis, Rush and I went straight to the building signaling our attack. The angels ran around as our men took them out one by one then an alarm started blaring. After snapping one of the angels' heads I ran to the entrance of the building walking down the halls and down the basement, it smelt foul, disgusting.

"Athena are you here?" I called out my voice echoing from the hollow walls.

"Lucifer is that you?" Her tiny voice responded, bouncing off the hollow wall like a mirror giving back a reflection.

"Where are you Athena?!" I yelled, frantically looking around.

"Three cells down"

I quickly walked down to the cell seeing my mate in the corner beside a man, I growled at him, bending the iron walking towards them. As I was going to throw the man away from Athena she lunged at me in a hug.

I immediately calmed down hugging her back. The power of a mate's touch.

"I missed you" she mumbled in my shirt crying.

"I missed you too, don't cry" I soothed her.

She sniffled looking up at me then surprisingly kissed me, in the middle of our little makeout session someone cleared their throat, Athena blushed, looking at the guy I growled.

"Uhm, Luce this is Aden my brother" my mate introduced.

He then came out in the light. I could see the resemblance, he was like a boy version of my mate.

I nodded at him.

He smiled awkwardly.

"Uhm, I think we should go" Athena said, breaking the silence.

"Sure, Fenrir and your father's here" I informed.

"My father Apophis, you contacted him?" She asked, eyes wide.

I nodded, "Yes we did we needed the help for the war"

"Oh, it's just not everyday you get to meet your father who's helping in fighting a war for you, who is a God by the way"

"What? Our father's a God that too Apophis, so cool"

"I think your father will love him. He loves when people look up to him and adore him it doesn't happen much, alot fear him after all." I said, eyeing my mate's twin.

We walked back the way I came.

Athena gasped when we reached outside. Almost all Michael's men were killed, the others were retreating clearly seeing they couldn't stand a chance.

Apophis came towards us covered with blood and no scar in sight.

I walked towards him.

"I killed him, Michael, everything is over" he said.

I looked at him weirdly, killed him? Everyone knew you couldn't kill an angel only disintegrate them but he had that look on his face that said don't ask.

"I don't think so" the scrawny voice of April said, we looked around to see Rush's mate holding Athena by the throat with a gun at her head.

"April what are you doing?" asked Athena in a weak voice.

I hated seeing her like this.

"Stop being stupid - you all are stupid, I've been working for Michael ever since I was born. I can't believe you fell for my actions. You were just too kind and perfect. I set everything up and even though my boss is gone I'll still carry out his mission that is ending your life Athena"

She whimpered.

"What the hell is going on here?" Rush asked, stepping into view.

April turned to him frightened letting go of Athena's head.

Athena punched her in the gut quickly taking the gun out of her hands then pushed her to the ground.

That's my girl.

"What happened?" Rush asked, looking at all of us.

"Rush baby, please they're all crazy" April cried pointing a finger at me.

I raised an eyebrow. This girl wanted to get herself killed.

"April I never asked you" Rush quickly sidetracked.

I know this isn't very manly but burn!

"She tried to kill me, she worked for Michael!" Athena yelled.

"Is this true?" Rush asks quietly, we could all hear the hurt in his voice.

"Babe your-"

"Is this true?" Rush asked again, looking her in the eye.

"Yes it's true but what are you gonna do about it I'm still your mate you can't kill me" April huffed.

"We'll see"

And with that Rush snapped her neck, we all gasped in surprise, a mate never killed his/her half, well I guess there is a first time for everything.

Rush walked away.

I turned to my mate hugging her.

Fenrir approached us along with Remi.

"What are you doing her Rem?"

Athena asked, glaring.

"I had to see my best friend" Remi said with a cry then took her from me hugging her.

Rush then came back his nose in the air, his eyes a bright yellow. I knew that look.

"Mate"
