12: A Complacent and miserable world.
The Mad Consort's Second Life
Chu Liang
Deep down inside a part of Jia Hui Liang still loves that precious child after all, he is his child. But ultimately loving that child means becoming a weakness for him. He doesn't want to change cause if he should fall in love with that child once more, his heart breaks once more. So he will make him into something that will serve his own goals for that child is not a child in his eyes just an object to reach his goals.
And so Jia Hui Liang smiles, turning to the emperor, âare you not taking care of Yu er?â
âYou think I'd not take care of my own child? Do you not think well of your husband?â He teases.
âHmm, I'll take Yu er!â
âFine, Fine, let's go for a stroll with little son sometimes,â
Jia Hui Liang knows, the emperor's opinion on children is a mystery. Does he love them or does he hate them? He doesn't know, the emperor has never mistreated Yu er as far as he knew but he can't say the same for his precious Shuang. And that leads on to the next target Consort Gang.
âHonourable Master,â Ling spoke worriedly.
Jia Hui Liang didn't realise the hand that was bleeding, it's a good thing he'd return before the deep thoughts run rampant. The bandage was soaked and it stuck to the wound but Ling, who knew a bit of medicine, tried gently removing it so as not to irritate the wounds.
âI hate them Ling, I hate them so much,â the Honourable Consort Jia cries.
Ling didn't comfort her master listening as the tears streamed down his face. âThis is only the beginning, do you think I'm evil,â
Ling pauses, usually by her morals she'd say yes but her heart disagrees. âMay I know why?â
âYou won't understand, at least not in this life,â
Ling wanted to say let her understand but she didn't, she couldn't, and so she gently tended to the wound.
The next day, after dressing and receiving the permission seal from the emperor, he went to visit his brother. In his past life the two most powerful people to aid him were his brother and the empress Dowager.
But sadly before Yu er could become two the empress Dowager passed away and that was when his misfortune truly began. It was as if something was triggered when she died and the emperor's behaviour became strange.
If the empress Dowager were alive there is no way he'd suffer so much, death is enviable so he'll stand on his own and use everything at his disposal. Arriving at the Jia Manor he looks at the home he once lived but realises he barely recalls anything about the face of his father, the man who played a part in his suffering.
He was a good father when he was living but when he died he was terrible.
Entering the mansion, he greets the servants with a happy smile, soon a tall slender man greets him in the meeting hall. This man who was in fact a ger had tall slightly wavy black hair that was released with a slight Knot to the back, neat straightened eyebrows and a small yet straight nose. The male had soft pink lips that looked delicate to the touch.
Looking at this person, whose exterior was regal and radiant much like his supposed past life, the coldness that leaves his body makes this person seem cold unlike his temper filled brother. An unappealing match one would call if, but who would have thought something came out of this unappealing match.
âWelcome to the Honourable Consort Jia,â
âGreetings, Chu Liang,â
The male froze looking at him, that wasn't the proper title but oftentimes Chu Liang often say no to the minister's wife even though he greatly adores that title. But he will not call him such not yet at least..
âHonourable Consort Jia, have I offended you?â
âNo, is my brother here?â
âNo, bit he'll be back by the evening. He just went hunting for some time.â
âI see, then I'll be in your care until then,â
Chu Liang feels weird, as he knows the relationship between the two is strained; he doesn't get involved but as the âmadamâ of this house he has certain duties to fulfil. And such duties involve tending to in-laws and guests. There aren't any in-laws except for the Honourable Consort Jia and most guests he didn't get to meet as his âhusbandâ didn't want him involved in his business and of course Chu Liang doesn't care, he couldn't care about anything.
âHey brother in law, are you content with the relationship with my brother now?â
Chu Liang was taken aback by the sudden question, âwhat do you mean?â
âDo you hold no regrets with things now, do you truly want this type of relationship?â
Chu Liang's brows knitted, âin law, I'm afraid I don't know what you mean,â he said not crumbling to the conversation.
âI see but I'll change before it's too late, life is but an unfortunate and miserable thing. You can't afford to be complacent and content with it, remember my wordsâ.
