Pasta, burgers and Embarrassment

CHAPTER 18

Zack's POV.

With best friends, there is no embarrassment. That is how comfortable you are with your best friend.

"Who was it?" Sarah asked turning around.

"Oh, it was James." I emptied the cup of soup cause it was delicious and I am an amazing cook and glared me like I am the culprit and then she shifted her eyes or rather the glare to the soup cup which was now empty.

Cocky much.

"Ohhh uhhh sorry! Hungry?" I asked.

"Yes." Cheryl chirped in. We both walked to the kitchen. Sarah was frantically looking for something but before I could ask she herself opened her mouth.

"Where is James?" She looked through the porch.

"Oh, he went!" I said shrugging.

"Why?" She asked confusion clear on her face.

"I don't know. Were you expecting him?" I asked because honestly, I didn't know why he left.

"Oh no. He asked for a date I said no since I had to babysit but that was it. We didn't talk much later." She explained throwing her hands here and there and I took the information she said in my head.

Something didn't feel right. Yeah, no shit Sherlock not about me, about James. He was so off on some levels not to forget he calls Sarah Angel since the first day her.

Creepy AF.

"So what did he say?" Sarah pulled me out of my reverie.

"He asked why am I here? Like why? I am your best friend I am allowed to come whenever." I huffed.

"Alright, big baby! I am the baby sitter, I will get you food." She chuckled.

"Oh yeah and by the way I also told him I was babysitting you!" I ran outta kitchen quicker than anything before I am physically abused by my best friend.

Oh no not the fight kind just a little fragile punched on the arm that sure as hell hurt as bitch. She didn't chase me so I am guessing she is heating up the food. A little later she did get us delicious pasta but I think it wasn't enough so hence her question came.

"Burgers or pizza?" She asked handing out the pasta to both me and Cheryl and just for the fun of it, I mimicked her voice.

She smacked my head.

I smacked her head.

She stuck out her tongue.

I stuck out my tongue.

"You two are so cute? Are you her boyfriend?" Cheryl asked with her mouthful.

"Oh what... Nooo!" I cried out and she chuckled briefly as a blush crept her face.

"Burgers! And oh also fries!" I said.

"Yayy burgers!" Cheryl fisted her hand in the air.

"Burger it is!" Sarah called and both of us went back to eating.

"Zack it's on you!" She grinned like a happy puppy! Haha, she was very cute.

"Okay!" I drawled.

"So what happened exactly with James?" She asked again.

"I think he thought I am scoring you!" I said with a mouthful of pasta while in reality I just wanted to laugh.

"Wha?  why?" She scrunched her face.

"Omg, he is jealous." A sudden realisation dawned on her.

"Oh maybe!"  I grinned.

Grimacing the empty plate of pasta I washed them. Still hungry but good thing the burgers were coming in soon.

"So what is the next movie again?" I asked.

"Frozen." Cheryl sang and giggled.

For the most part of the movie I yawned. Of course, I don't like all the sappy movies and Disney movies were too boring for my liking hence I kept yawning.

In 10 minutes our burger came and I paid the guy with a good tip.

I was a sucker for burgers and fries. I don't know why! Cheryl was almost full so she ate just a little bit of fries and I and Sarah ate the rest. We were so satisfied with the burgers that we quietly ate without bickering until Sarah squeezed the damn burger on her top.

"Uh oh. Crap." She muttered under her breath and I gave her an amused look.

"I'll come back in 2 min I gotta change!" She muttered slightly annoyed with the stain.

"I wanna pee!" Cheryl chirped in.

"C'mon big girl!" Cherry took Cheryl with her and I waited for them to come back as I scrolled my Instagram feed.

(A/N- Sarah and Cherry are the same people. Zack calls Sarah by her Nickname Cherry)

Sarah's POV

I came to my room with this baby. I showed her the washroom and shoved my top in the washing basket while I frantically searched for a comfortable top.

"I am done!" Cheryl announced and I still couldn't find a good comfy top. Wow. My closet needs some arrangement now.

"Did you wash your hand's babygirl?" I asked her finally able to spot my white full sleeve top.

"Yes, Sarah." She chuckled. I looked at her confused at to why she was chuckling and her eyes have a glint of mischief putting all of those thoughts aside I put on my loose comfy top.

"Let's go baby girl!" Before I could complete Cheryl ran down and so did I? She is a kid what if she falls down the stairs. I am responsible for her.

Nothing of that sort happened thank God for that but oh well, she made her mission to embarrass me.

"Big bwoooogiess. Big bwoooogiess." She called to Zack. Huh, what?.

I gave them both a questioning look and Zack gave me a questioning look.

"Sarah loves blue and pink flowers on them and she hides them there!" Cheryl pointed my chest.

Oh. My. God.

My face reddened. Kinda red as a tomato. I ducked my face in embarrassment for obvious reasons.

"That's girls talk. Don't tell him!" I scolded her playfully while Cheryl pouted and I immediately regretted for scolding her.

I wanted to laugh at her pout but I decided against it and tried to keep a straight face but my face broke into a grin. Before anymore embarrassment, she faced the door which created a jiggling sound and my mother and Mel came through it.

"Honey it's time to go!" Mel shouted for Cheryl.

"Yes, mommy!" Cheryl bounced in her arms instantly.

"Hello Mel, hello Ava." Zack and I greeted them.

"Oh hi. We didn't know you'll be here. It's good to see you. It's been so long. Come here!" Mom took Zack in a warm hug followed by Mel. He hugged them back.

"So I should leave too." He said turning to me while I stared everyone.

"Yes, you should. Bye Zack. Bye Cheryl."

"Bye Sarah!" Cheryl replied.

"Bye bwoooogiess." Zack snickered and I glared at him.

Asshole.

"By the way, thank you for the pasta and milkshake!" He smiled.

"Oh and the burgers too?" I said back.

"Oh thanks to me for that!" He grinned.

"Yeah but it's my house, I ordered food so you're supposed to thank me!" I grinned.

"Okay! You crazy head. Thank you!" He said grinning.

"You are welcome!" I pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Bye!" He waved.

"Bye-bye Zackie!" And now it was time to sleep.
