08: Heart Rate Monitor
Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]
As it turns out, Stiles was incredibly grateful to Sky for saving his dad, as the first thing he did when he saw her this morning was smother her in a hug, mumbling a thank you before they walked to class. Sky's face may have remained stoic as she stood there and accepted his affection but inside, her heart warmed and she decided she definitely had no regrets.
It was also amusing to find out that Stiles was mad at Scott for only caring about Allison. He was sure that if Sky had not been there, he would of let Sheriff Stilinski get hit by a car.
Unfortunately for her brother, he had been cornered by Derek last night on his way home from grocery shopping and told to stay away from Allison. He had apparently said Sky should stay away from her girlfriend too, but no creepy werewolf was going to tell her what to do.
"Still not talking to me?" wonders Scott as he looks at Stiles in class from where he sits behind him and Sky.
Stiles ignores him.
Scott sighs, "Okay, can you at least tell me if your dad's okay? He didn't get hit, right? Sky healed perfectly fine. Nothin' that big - "
Sky scoffs, muttering, "Nothing that big. I broke my wrist, jerk."
"You know I feel really bad about it, right? Okay. What if I told you that I'm trying to figure this whole thing out, and - That I went to Derek for help?" he tells them.
Stiles doesn't spare him a glance as he speaks, "If I was talking to you, I'd say that you're an idiot for trusting him. But obviously, I'm not talking to you," Sky gives him a look but he tries to ignore her.
"You know you want to," she sings quietly.
A few seconds later he caves in, making her smirk, "What did he say?"

"So did you come up with a plan yet?" asks Scott as he tries to hide his face behind a book in the cafeteria. He was really trying to make sure Allison didn't spot him.
Stiles had suggested he could come up with something to help them learn control so they were waiting for him to come up with an idea.
"I think so."
Scott looks at him hopefully, "Does that mean you don't hate me now?" he asks.
Stiles narrows his eyes at him, "No. But your crap has infiltrated my life, so now I have to do something about it. Plus I'm definitely a better Yoda than Derek,"Â he says.
"Okay, yeah, you teach me. And Sky too if she wants."
Sky nods, "It's worth a try."
"Yeah, I'll be your Yoda," agrees Stiles.
"Yeah, you be my Yoda," repeats Scott.
"Your Yoda, I will be," impersonates Stiles. Sky shakes her head and chuckles. "I said it backwards," he points out.
Scott's face looks blank, "Yeah, I know," he says, confused.
Stiles scoffs, "All right, you know what? I definitely still hate you. Oh, yeah," he tells him, getting up to leave, Sky laughing slightly and waving at Ariel as she passes.

Sky fiddles with one of the heart rate monitors that Stiles had 'temporarily misappropriated' as she walks toward the classroom with her brother.
Scott had spent his free period letting Stiles hurl lacrosse balls at him, simultaneously helping Stiles practice his aim and testing Scott's restraint when it came to his anger and keeping his heart rate down.
"It was like the angrier I got, the stronger I felt," Scott explains. "So, I need to stay away from Allison."
Sky frowns as they walk through the door, "What? Because she makes you weak? I mean I don't mind if it keeps us from wolfing out," she replies.
"We can't be weak facing the Alpha," whispers Scott.
Coach claps his hands, "Let's go. Sit, sit, sit. We got a lot to cover today. Let's go. Quicker," he ushers.
Unfortunately for Scott, Allison managed to slip into the seat behind him. Sky just sits down next to him, also in front of Ariel.
Sky gives the girl a quick smirk as she sits, "Hey, princess," she whispers.
Ariel smiles, "Hey. You still coming to my house tonight?"Â she asks.
Sky peers behind her, "That depends. Are we studying or hanging out?"
"I'm thinking hanging out."
Sky nods, content, "Your house it is then."
The Coach shushes them, "Let's settle down. Let's start with a quick summary of last night's reading. Greenberg, put your hand down. Everybody knows you did the reading. How about, uh - McCall."
"What?" The twins ask, then look at each other with a smirk.
Coach exaggerates a shudder, "God, that's creepy. Male McCall! The reading," he says with a click of his fingers.
"Last night's reading?" Scott asks.
Coach rolls his eyes, "How about, uh, the reading of the Gettysburg Address?"
Scott's face scrunches up in confusion, "What?"
"That's sarcasm. You familiar with the term 'sarcasm', McCall?" Coach asks.
Scott pauses, looking from his sister to his best friend, "Very," he mumbles.
"Did you do the reading or not?" asks Coach.
Scott looks at him sheepishly, saying, "Uh-- I guess I forgot."
Coach claps sarcastically, "Nice work, McCall. It's not like you're not averaging a D in this class. Come on, buddy. You know I can't keep you on the team if you have a D. How about you summarise the previous night's reading?" Scott sinks down in his chair. "No? How about the, uh, the night before that? How about you summarise anything you've ever read - In your entire life?"
Scott swallows as he starts to become overwhelmed. The eyes of everyone in the classroom looking at him as he feels his heart beating rapidly.
"I-I-Uh," he stutters.
Sky leans forward, "Let me --"
Coach cuts her off as he continues, "No. A blog? How about, uh, how about, uh, the back of a cereal box? No? How about the adults-only warning from your favourite website you visit every night?"
Sky's face twists into anger at his pushing and she clenches her jaw. Stiles looks down to his phone where their heartbeats were displayed and sucks in a breath as he sees the numbers climbing. He looks up to see one of Sky's hands gripping onto the side of her desk, claws digging into the wood, and Scott keeping his head down as he breathes heavily in embarrassment.
Coach shakes his head, "Anything? Thank you, McCall, thank you," he claps mockingly. "Thank you, McCall! Thank you for extinguishing any last flicker of hope I have for your generation. You just blew it for everybody. Thanks. Next practice you can start with suicide runs. Unless that's too much reading," he tells him.
Sky flinches for a moment when she feels a hand slip into hers, but leans back and accepts the touch when she recognises it, letting it ground her as she takes slow breaths. She turns her head to see Allison comforting her brother similarly.
Coach turns around and walks back to the front, "All right. Everybody else, settle down."

"It's her!" Stiles exclaims as soon as they exit the classroom together.
Sky lifts an eyebrow, "What?"
"What do you mean?" asks Scott.
Stiles points to Scott, "Allison. Remember what you told me about the night of the full moon? You were thinking about her, right? About protecting her," he tells him.
"Okay," Scott nods.
Stiles then clicks his fingers to Sky, "And Ariel for you, Sky. On the night of the full moon, you were with her, right? That's why you didn't go on a rampaging murder spree," He explains, waving his arms for emphasis.
He continues, "And the lacrosse game, Scott. You heard her voice on the field. Sky, you said Ariel helped you calm down in the locker room."
"Yeah, I did," Scott confirms and Sky nods along with a frown.
"Well, so that's what brought you back so you could score. And then after the game in the locker room, you didn't kill her. At least not like how you were trying to kill me," he sighs at their blank faces. "They bring you back, is what I'm saying."
Scott shakes his head, "No, no, no, but it's not always true, because literally every time I'm kissing her or -- or touching her --"
Sky holds up her hand, "Let me stop you right there."
Stiles shakes his head, "No, that's not the same. When you're doing that, you're just another hormonal teenager thinking about sex, you know?" He sees the look on Scott's face. "You're thinking about sex right now, aren't you?" he scrunches his nose up.
Scott clears his throat, "Yeah. Sorry."
Stiles rolls his eyes, "That's fine. Look, back in the classroom, when she was holding your hand, and I saw Ariel holding yours, Sky. That was different, okay? I don't think she makes you weak. I think she actually gives you control. They're kind of like an anchor," Stiles concludes.
"You mean because I love her?" wonders Scott.
Sky's head snaps over to him, "You love her?" she asks with wide eyes. Scott stares back as if he was just as equally shocked by his own admission.
Slowly, he nods, "I love her."
"Okay, okay. Stop that," waves Stiles.
A dopey smile takes over Scott's face, "Did I just say that?" he asks.
Sky actually smiles at him, "Yes, you did, Scotty."
He looks at her curiously, "Do you love Ariel?" he asks.
Sky's smile drops slowly as she gapes at him, a flush creeping up her face, "Scott!" she hisses. "You can't just drop that on me."
"Okay, moving on --" starts Stiles.
Sky's head bobs up and down rapidly, "Yes."
Scott interrupts, still in a happy daze. "No, no, no, really. I think I'm totally in love with Allison," he says.
"And that's beautiful. Now, before you go off and write a sonnet, or make Sky have a breakdown, can we figure this out, please? Because you obviously can't be around her all the time."
Scott sobers, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. So what do I do?" he asks.
Stiles pauses, "I don't know. Yet," he answers.
Sky watches as his face suddenly changes, "Oh, here we go," she mumbles.
Scott groans when he sees it too, "Oh, no. You're getting an idea, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
"Is this idea gonna get me in trouble?"
"Maybe."
"Is this idea gonna cause me physical pain?"
Stiles grins, "Yeah, definitely. Come on."
Sky stays still as they start to walk away, "Yeah, you guys go ahead, I'm heading to Ariel's," she calls out.
Stiles tuts, "Look at you, ditching us for your girlfriend."
Sky squints at him, saying, "I'm sensing high readings of jealousy."
Stiles barks out a laugh, "Does Ariel know what she's getting into with you?"
"Absolutely, Stiles. Absolutely."
